2.  Jonas is overcome by the pain
and horror when he realizes
what release is. He start crying
and refuses to go home to his
family, knowing that his father
lied to him about what would
happen to the new child. He
cannot believe that his friend
Fiona efficiently kills the old
when they are released. The
Giver allows Jonas to spend
the night with him and tries to
explain that the people of his
community do not feel things
the way he and Jonas do. He
tells Jonas that he has helped
him to decide that things have
to change

3.  Jonas escaped from
the community,
leaving all his
memories for the
people of the
community. Jonas
begged the Giver to
come with him, but
the Giver explained
that someone need to
stay and help the
others deal with those
memories.

4. People said that when
he ran he arched his
head up and back,
and his face kind of
flattered out. He ran
that way, his head
thrown back, because
he loved to feel the
wind rushing across
his neck. When a huge
shadow appeared in
his line of vision and
crashed into him and
plunged him into a
darkness.

5.  His leg would
never heal in
time, the doctors
said, and perhaps
in a year or so the
brace would come
off. So when the
kids use to play
basketball he just
sit on the side
alone. He cant
even play because
of his hand.

6. Victor has a huge crush on Teresa. Has
liked her ever since they were in
catechism class. He promised himself
that he was going to make Teresa his
girl this year. They were in French class
and the teacher asked who knew how
to speak French. Of course he raised
his hand to show off for Teresa, but he
really didn’t know any French. The
teacher knew what was happening so
he asked him to say something of
course the kids went along because
they didn’t know anything about
French. They thought it was cool the
stuff he was saying. He felt really
embarrassed because the stuff he said
was not real French . The teacher
knew what was going on though so he
didn’t say anything and moved on.

7.  Teresa,after class told
him how good his French
was. Victor was relieved.
Teresa asked him would
he mind tutoring her. Of
course he said yes. He
was really happy and
thought he might get a
chance to be with Teresa.

8.  In the Giver, Jonas ran away because he felt like he
was being lied too. He wasn’t comfortable there. He
felt unsafe. That’s the reason he ran away from the
community to get away from all the things that was
going on. In Zebra, Zebra liked to run that’s the
reason everybody called him that, and because of the
way he ran. He ran so fast down the hill one day that
he couldn’t stop himself. He got injured really bad,
so he could never run like that again. In the story
Seventh Grade Victor has a crush on Teresa for a long
time. They had got the same class which is French .
That made him think that was the chance he had to
be in a relationship with Teresa. Victor had tried to
speck French to impress Teresa. It worked, so Teresa
asked Victor if he wanted to tutor her in French. He
felt relieved because he thought he had embarrassed
himself.
