Who are the giraffe’s enemies?   Giraffes have few enemies. They are hunted by poachers and sometimes by lions, although this is rare as one kick with the long legs and heavy hooves can kill a lion. The babies are eaten by leopards, hyenas and wild dogs.
How does the animal protect itself? As the world's tallest animal, it uses its fast pace and extraordinary vision to protect itself. When attacked a giraffe uses its strong powerful hooves to kick its predator. Its lethal kick has been known to kill a lion!
