Gray Wolves are the largest member of the canine family and inhabit cold regions with forests and mountains in parts of North America. They live in family packs and communicate through howls, barks, and growls. Gray Wolves prey on large animals like deer, elk, and moose but will also scavenge dead animals. Their populations were reduced due to hunting but protections have allowed numbers to increase in recent decades.
