• Sex: related to a person’s biological traits
(reproductive organs & physiognomy); i.e. male or
female.
• Gender: roles & behaviours acquired through the
process of socialisation; i.e. masculine or feminine.

i.e. heterosexual (straight), homosexual (gay or
