Gender Inequality In India Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of gender inequality in India can be both challenging and
enlightening. On one hand, the subject is deeply rooted in the historical, cultural, and social
fabric of the country, making it complex to navigate and analyze. India, with its diverse
population and multifaceted societal structures, presents a plethora of perspectives and
dimensions when it comes to gender dynamics.
Addressing the issue requires a thorough understanding of historical contexts, cultural norms,
and the evolving nature of gender roles in contemporary India. One must grapple with the
intricate interplay of tradition and modernity, as well as the impact of legislative measures aimed
at promoting gender equality. Additionally, the essay should delve into the economic aspects,
examining the disparities in employment opportunities, wage gaps, and access to education that
contribute to the overall landscape of gender inequality.
Furthermore, the cultural and societal stigmas associated with gender-based violence,
discrimination, and stereotypes must be explored and critiqued. Tackling such a sensitive and
deeply ingrained issue requires a nuanced approach that respects the complexities of the subject
matter.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on gender inequality in India demands a thoughtful blend of
historical analysis, sociocultural insights, and a keen awareness of the contemporary challenges
faced by various segments of the population. It is not merely an intellectual exercise but a call to
action, urging the reader to reflect on the pervasive nature of gender inequality and consider
avenues for positive change.

Persuasive Essay On Civil Rights
In Dr. King s I have dream speech, he emphasized the idea that the founding of the
United States entailed a promise of equal justice for all citizens. The institutions of
Government have certainly fell short of providing this promise for equal justice of
all citizens both prior and after Dr. King s speech and the civil rights movement.
There is little doubt good progress has been made in reaching Dr. King s I have a
dream speech however, ongoing efforts need to continue to ensure equal justice for
all citizens. Given the recent political changes and the passing of Justice Scalia,
there is a bit of uncertainty if our promise of equal justice for all citizens will
continue to be pursued and upheld. Even though some people may think we are in a
post racial America, racism is still exists, systemic group privilege and systems of
power and oppression have created several disadvantages for certain minority groups
and people of color. As Dr. King proclaimed and for the constitutional system to
function properly it requires the underlying principle of equal justice and equal
citizenship to all people. This has come about through a slow progress of enforcement
in the aftermath of the Civil War. It s important to understand some of the early
attempts to enforce equal justice under the law to Constitution. During the period of
reconstruction, Congress, authorized by the final clauses of the Fourteenth and
Fifteenth Amendment, passed several civil rights laws that were

A growing number of organizations approach corporate responsibility as an extensive

require a great cause to do this. They even need the time and persistence to do it
appropriate. It is important to think out of the box and innovate. Doing exactly what
other companies do to attract customers is not the correct way to approach.
3) Don t compromise without strong justification for changing the method.
Blackberry tried to handle its current keyboard cell phones as well as the Storm. In
performing this, the end result didn t attract the traditional Blackberry customers or
to those hoping to change to a touchscreen phone. This lead to dysfunction and
frustration. Always pick a unique strategy and embrace it; and plan on making the

Sweet Story Of Buttercup Sweets By Ernest Milkyway
Sweet Story The air is filled with the scent of warm vanilla sugar when Buttercup
Sweets walks outside for her morning stroll. Buttercup Sweets is one of the many
Marshmallow Munchkins that live in Candytown. She is very kindhearted and cares
for everyone. Some of her favorite things to do are sled down Ice Cream Hill, play
kick the gumball, and go on fun adventures with her best friend Twinkie.
Buttercup starts down her peppermint driveway, waving goodbye to her mom and
dad, Bobby and Robby Sweets. Bobby and Robby Sweets are also Marshmallow

She shoves as much food and supplies as she could find into her gummy bag. Some
of the items she packs were: cake pops, butter cakes, star treats, sweets tarts, long
licorice string, a sugar light, and a few gummy clothes. Buttercup steps very lightly
as to not wake her parents. Once she was outside she felt something that she has
never ever felt before, she wasn t sure what it was but it did not feel good at all.
This morning wasn t as pleasant as the previous day, there was a brisk wind that had
come down from Mount Toblerone. Buttercup quickly and quietly runs to Twinkie s
house and went around to knock on her window instead of her door. Twinkie was
startled at first but then realized that it was just her friend Buttercup. Twinkie opens
her window and asks what was wrong.
We need to run away, right now before anyone sees us, pronounces Buttercup.
Even though Twinkie was more adventurous than most other candy people, she still
had the loving personality that Candytown required. Because of this she hesitated
before saying, Alright, I will go with you, but only since you are my best friend and I
know you would do it for me.
Great, let s get going. We are headed to Celery City, Buttercup says
The Birth Order Of A Child
In the order of which you are born are so important in some families. In some
cultures, the most important order to be in for a child was to be the oldest. Being
the oldest, you could be first for the throne or first as a prince or princess. Different
spots of birth order create certain differences between children belonging to this or
that spot inside the family. These differences show why siblings are not alike. The
term siblings are used to identify children who are brothers and sisters coming from
that same mom and dad. The commonly known words sibling rivalry may be
understood as a phenomenon caused directly by the order in which you were born in.
From the research of Alfred Adler, the birth orderof a child is the predictor of his
future characteristics. Adler said that, the firstborn children are dethroned when
the next child comes along and that they may never recover from that. Adler
believed that the true reason for the differences between siblings is the desire to be
different and have different characteristics, to be individual and not compared to
their other sibling, and to stand out from the crowd of other children. Siblings
ranging in age are always competing for the love of the mom and dad. Also, the
oldest and the youngest always seem to have to fight for power over one another to
gain control of the situation. I m the oldest, so I m going to be in charge! Or you
hear the youngest one say, I m going tell mom you re being bossy! You re not the boss

Comparing Kate Chopin s The Storm and T. Coraghessan Boyle s Greasy Lake
Kate Chopin and T. Coraghessan Boyle made excellent use of the elements point of
view, character, and setting in their short stories The Storm and Greasy Lake . Kate
Chopin s characters and events follow the setting the storm. This greatly enhances her
work. Boyle s characters mirror his setting as well a greasy lake. It is amazing how
much greater depth and deeper the insight is for a story when the potentials of
elements of writing are fulfilled and utilized.

The main character of Boyle s story is the nameless narrator. He is more round than
flat, mainly because of the point of view of first person. The reader must of course
get closer to the main character because they become them when they read the story.
The reader sees inside the narrator and through his eyes out at the world around him
because of his thoughts and actions. Boyle develops his main character through the
point of view taken they cannot be separated.
We wore torn up leather jackets, slouched around with toothpicks in our mouths,
sniffed glue and ether and what somebody claimed was cocaine. When we wheeled
our parents whining station wagons out onto the street we left a patch of rubber
half a block long. We drank gin and grape juice, Tango, Thunderbird, and Bali Hai.
We were nineteen. We were bad. We read Andre Gide and struck elaborate poses to
show that we didn t give a shit about anything. (Boyle 129)
This self description of the narrator says it all. He gives a brutal, yet inflated
description of himself and his friends that gives the reader a very round main
character.
The setting in both of these short stories is the essence of their themes. The authors
have drawn characters that parallel their settings. From this, the reader can draw
many conclusions and insights about the themes of the stories. The Storm occurs in

HOW CLEAN COAL TECHNOLOGIES CAN REDUCE AIR POLLUTION FROM
COAL
Coal is the most hazardous of all fossil fuels. When coal is burned, it produces
emissions that contribute to global warming, create acid rain and pollute water. Clean
coal technology is a collection of technologies that was developed to reduce the
environmental impact of coal energy generation. When coal is used as a fuel material
or source, the gaseous emissions generated by the thermal decomposition of the coal
include nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide ,carbon dioxide, mercury and other chemical
byproducts that vary depending on the properties of coal being used. These emissions
have been established to have a negative impact on the environment and human
health, contributing
Essay On Folsom
Folsom is one of California s oldest prison. Engulfed with rich history Folsom is one
of the first maximum security prisons in our nation.Construction began in 1878, near
a mining camp along the American River. The prison finally opened in 1880 with a
capacity of around 1,500 inmates. The inmates spent most of the time in the
dark, with no heating or plumbing, in cells with solid iron doors. After many deaths
from suffocation, air holes were drilled into the cell doors and those doors are still
used today.
Folsom was the first prison in the world to have electric power. The electric power

The world famous Johnny Cash played a concert at the prison in 1968. The lucky

such as, education program or learning a trade. After the concert many prisoner
who were released did not return to the prison as offenders. Folsom also has been

The permissive parenting style is when there is a lack of discipline. In the case of
Lust, it seems as though the mother is more interested in playing the role of a
friend, rather than a parent. This type of parenting style leads to a lack of self
control and maturity in the child (Cherry). How does this relate to love? As mentioned
before, it is very difficult for a person to love when they do not know what it feels
like to be loved. With the absence of her parents, or any parental figures, the main
character does not understand what it feels like to be loved by a parent. When this
occurs, it is very likely that a female (especially without a father figure) would seek
love in the wrong places, in this case from other male figures. That is exactly the
case in Susan Minot s Lust.
Detached from love, being the unloved , and not knowing how to seek or expel
love are all problems that are relevant to the lives of many. Through the plot of
Ernest Hemingway s Soldier s Home, Jesse Lee Kercheval s Carpathia, and Susan
Minot s Lust, it is evident that love and its psychology plays a major role in one s
self worth and ability to love and accept it in
The Foreign Exchange Regulation Act
The Foreign Exchange Regulation Act or FERA, passed by the Parliament in
1973, was framed to eradicate crimes relating to foreign exchange in the country ,
such that the economic development, which was still in its pre liberalization era
and thus slow, was not adversely affected. It was also to preserve the scarce Forex
or foreign exchange currency in the country and hence tried to keep a strict control
on these particular resources. However, it was repealed and replaced by the Foreign
Exchange Management Act(1999) to reinforce and fortify the development and the
maintenance of the foreign exchange resources in the country. It was more extensive,
comprehensive and since the floodgates of the economy had opened after
liberalization in 1991, had more scope to actually reinvigorate the availability of
foreign exchange in the country.
This act, in essence, was formed to keep in check the foreign exchange resources in
the country and hence all business deals involving foreign exchange need to be
authorized by the Government. It is drastic in nature as it does not allow arbitrary
trade in foreign exchange of any form, as this is a resource that needs to be willfully
protected. Under this Act, Lalit Modi had performed a number of violations. He
accepted a deposit of в‚№ 200 million from UK based Emerging Media (IPL), in
contravention of FEMA, where other BCCI officials were also involved. He also
contravened the provisions of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) to the

The calculation of FCF can be done according to the formula shown by Figure 1
(based on [Copeland, Murrin and Koller, 2000], [Fernandez, 2002] and [Agar,
2005]). Initially, we need to determine Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT),
which represents hypothetical earnings before tax which ignores the effect of
interests paid on debt. It can be calculated as the reported earnings before tax plus
the interest expense stated in the income statement [Bodie, Kane and Marcus,
2004]. The EBIT should then be reduced by the hypothetical tax (computed as
EBIT * tax rate) in order to obtain Earnings After Tax without the effect of debt
financing. This number shows the accounting profit which would have been
realized had the firm used no debt to finance its operation. 1 According to
[Fernandez, 2002], the most important types of cash flow are the Free cashflow
(cash flow available to satisfy both the shareholders and creditors return
requirements), the Equity Cash flow (cash flow available for shareholders) and
the Debt Cash flow (cash flow available for creditors). 14 Earnings Before Interest
and Tax (EBIT) Tax on EBIT (EBIT * Tax rate) Accounting earnings = Earnings
After Tax without debt + Depreciation expense Increase in gross fixed assets

The Pardoned Parent Essay
The Pardoned Parent
There is a new breed of parent walking among us. Whether we recognized it or not,
we have all run into one of them at one time or another. Maybe it was the young
mother in the grocery store who handed her screeching child the candy she had just
finished telling him he could not have. Maybe it was the man who sat obliviously

screaming at the top of his lungs. These are the pardoned parents. To pardon means

Many people have faced disabilities of some type and overcome them. Helen Keller is
one of the most famous examples of this. Helen was both deaf and blind. As a
young child, her parents thought that her disabilities made her unteachable.
Because they pitied her, they allowed her to do as she pleased. They set no
boundaries for her in any area of her life until a young teacher, Annie Sullivan, who
was visually impaired herself, came to teach Helen. Miss Sullivan taught not only
Helen, but also Helen s family. Under her guidance, the family learned that Helen s
disabilities did not necessarily mean that she could never function as a useful
member of society. They learned to set boundaries for Helen and to expect more from
her. As a result of the changes in the way Helen was raised after Miss Sullivan
arrived, Helen grew up to become a world famous speaker and author (The Miracle

Overall, the criminal courts take up a critical stand in the Canadian criminal justice
system as it examines the pre trail process, the courtroom workgroup and the flow of

In this report, a critical analysis and observation of the Canadian criminal courts
will examine the prosecution of criminal cases, starting with the pre trail
process(behind the scene), the professionals who occupy the courtrooms ( one

criminal case (the flow of cases). The observation for this paper took place in
College court located at Yonge Street West, around 10am 1pm on October 31, 2014.
The purpose of this observation was to enhance the knowledge and understanding of
the Canadian criminal courts role in dispensing the Canadian justice system. The
observations includes an in depth study of the key aspects and roles of prosecutors
in criminal cases, the method in which cases proceed, the way prosecutors, defence
lawyers and judges handle cases and the procedures taken before criminal trails.
Overall this paper is the study of the day to day functioning of the criminal courts and

Canadian criminal courts is the pre trial process that is established behind the scenes
of a criminal trail. That is to say, before all
The Soviet Prison Labor Camp System
Solzhenitsyn envisioned and captured the persona of the Soviet prison labor camp
system by describing as a chain of hidden islands amongst the USSR landscape.
Solzhenitsyn sees himself lifting the shroud that the Soviet regime tried to hide the
gulags behind by telling his story of his time in the gulags. Reading his book gave
the reader the sense of reading a forbidden text, something surrounded in secrecy.
Solzhenitsyn develops themes throughout the book. These fetid and morbid islands
would see millions of unfortunate visitors forced to slave away at one of the world s
largest and fastest infrastructure and industrialization builds in the history of
mankind perpetuated by the will of Stalin and his secret police the NKVD. In this
beautifully and treacherously written story, Alexander Solzhenitsyn goes from his
glory filled days as a distinguished officer to just an exhausted instrument of the
Soviet state. Solzhenitsyn describes early on in the book about the cryptic nature of
the gulag. No one knows and no one asks about the gulags. The only way to get to
the fabled islands is to be a member within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a
conscripted guard, or one of the millions sent to their doom. This same mysticism is
projected well into his work, as the Gulag Archipelago was a banned piece of work
by the communist party. The reader can feel a risky nature to reading the novel.
Solzhenitsyn was a very decorated and successful Red Army officer. No prestige can

Portrait Head Of Caligula Analysis
Portrait Head of Caligula
This bust of Emperor Caligula, was thought to have been made somewhere within
Asia Minor, around the year 40 AD. There is no known record of who sculpted this
bust, and no accurate record of who it was made for or why it was made. It was
sculpted entirely out of marble.
After Caligula was murdered by his guards in 41 AD, almost all recorded statues
and portraits of him were destroyed, as well as a lot of writings that were done about
him. This led to modern day historians having to use later historians writings about
him, which has led to possible inaccuracies and bias about Caligula.

responsible for the building of Hadrian s Wall in Britannia, as well as rebuilding the

also noticeably philhellene in his tastes, which explains well his desire to make
Greece the cultural capital of the Roman Empire. His love of all things Greek, lead to
the Greek culture being considered one the most popular cults in ancient times.
During his reign, Hadrian travelled to nearly every province within the Empire, as

After Emperor Trajan died in 117 AD, Hadrian quickly secured legitimacy to his

The Organizational Culture Affects The Organization
Intelligent, thoughtful people can form into organizations that are unproductive and
ineffective in relation to their stated missions. This happens often and frequently, and
there are many reasons why such a case can occur. This essay will discuss two
possible reasons for such ineffectiveness and lack of productivity. Firstly,
organizations may have an overall structurethat is not conducive to success in relation
to their mission. Secondly, the organizational culture affects the organization in such
a negative way that the mission becomes clouded in the eyes of many employees and
managers.
Organizations often fail because of a lack of balance in a structure that makes sense
for that particular organization. This can be illustrated one way by comparing the
images of organizations as machines and organisms. Organizations as machines
focus on hierarchical structure. Hierarchical structure works very well for some
types of organizations. Organizations that are focused on things like national
security, disease prevention, or food safety are able to flourish under the mechanical
structure. This is because these types of organisms need to focus on efficiency,
predictability, and stability. Specialized roles help these organizations to carry out
their mission most effectively. Those dealing with food monitoring and safety need
to be experts in very specific areas of that particular work. Armed services need
specialized roles for those who operate heavy machinery, use
The Organization On The Industrial Landscape Of India
CHAPTER 1 : ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
1. ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The advent of JK organization on the industrial landscape of India almost
synchronizes with the beginning of an era of industrial awareness an endeavor for
self reliance and the setting up of a dynamic Indian industry. This was way back in
the middle of the 19th century, and the rest that followed is history. Excellence
comes not from mere words or procedures. It comes from an urge to strive and
deliver the best. A mindset that says, when it is good enough, improve it. It is a way
of thinking that comes only from a power within.
Jk tyre is an Automotive Tyre, Tubes and Flaps manufacturing company based in
Delhi, India. The name JK is derived from the initials of Kamlapatji (1884 1937) and
his father Seth Juggilal (1857 1922).
It is the Radial tire Leader in India and is the only tyre manufacturer offering the
entire range of 4 wheeler radials for Trucks, Buses and Cars.
JK Tyre has a worldwide customer base in over 80 countries across all 6 continents. It
is a part of J. K. Organisation group of Companies. JK Tyre acquired Mexican tyre
major Tornel in 2008.

The Death Penalty Throughout History
This paper explores how society has influenced the development of the death penalty
throughout history. It begins with a brief explanation of the origins of capital
punishment, referencing the first known documentation of actions punishable by
death. The paper goes on to explore different methods of execution and how they
have progressed and changed over the years. Documented cases at different points of
history are referenced to show the relationship of time periods and beliefs to the
implementation of capital punishment. Finally, the development of different laws and
changes to existing laws pertaining to the death penalty are addressed. The History of
the Death Penalty
The death penalty has changed drastically throughout history. Some of the first
known written laws regarding the death penalty date back to the eighteenth century
BCE ( Part I , 2016). It is likely that some form of the death penalty existed long
before written history, with a basis in customs, not legalities. The death penalty has
continued to evolve throughout history, shaping the modern practices used in the
United States and other parts of the world today. The administration of the death
penalty has been shaped by the moral principles of those in authority and the mindset
of the general public at each stage of history. This is shown through the evolution of
different methods of execution, documented cases during critical points in history,
and the laws pertaining to the death penalty at different

Injustice And Social Injustices
Introduction
Though the concept of social injustice is universal in nature, the experience varies
with each person. Factors like a person race, or gender can further influence the
severity of the injustice; victims caught in the overlap between discriminations often
go unrecognized by the law and society. Many people recognize the names Michael
Brown, Eric Garner, and Tamir Rice as African Americans who were murdered by
local police. But names like Michelle Cusseaux, Tanish Anderson, and Meagan
Hockaday often receive less feedback even though they are also murdered African
Americans. The only distinction between the sets of names is gender. Even within
racial injustice, discrimination is present between genders as some cases get national

In a publication titled Black Women in Academe , author Yolanda Moses describes
how isolation, invisibility, hostility, indifference, and a lack of understanding of the
Black women s experiences are all too often part of the climate Black women may
face on campuses (Moses, 1989). The detrimental environment surrounding these
women frequently results in sullenness, lack of social assertiveness, and belief that
they are less competent than male students. Even if time spent at an academic
institution is minimal, with this kind of prejudice faced at an early age, any woman
black or otherwise, would suffer the rest of their life. In response to the
discrimination faced at universities, some have created programs to aid black
students and other minorities; these programs tend to generalize the needs of all its
black students and do not fully support black women specifically.
Double discrimination and its effects are not only seen in academe. Social injustice
occurs in any situation where people are treated unequally and includes
discrimination and racism. For much of the twentieth century, crime and punishment
have provided some of the most powerful symbols of racial divide in America
(Rosich, 2007). Generally tried in a white dominated legal system, black victims often
face harsher punishment, longer sentences, and unfair trials. Rosich s research
indicates that white Americans widely believe that people of

What Does Milton Use Of Figurative Language
John Milton was an author who was a strong believer in the use of faith and
expressed that through his personal experiences in his sonnets. Not only did he try to
argue the importance of freedom of religion but also the influence of important
leaders on his views. Milton used figurative language and personification to show the
negative impact that the disturbance of freedom of religionhad on people not only
politically but also personally. Milton shows these characteristics in the following
sonnets: On the New Forcers of Conscience under the Long Parliament, To the Lord
General Cromwell, and How Soon Hath Time. John Miltonused figurative language

Like Milton, Cromwell was a fervent advocate for liberty of conscience against the
force of civil power (Lobo 781). Milton used figurative language to describe the
sacrifices that Cromwell had done in order to be recognized as a leader. Praising
Cromwell s martial victories, Milton also recognizes that Cromwell s reputation
has suffered detractions rude from both satiric royalist accounts and Presbyterian
attacks on his toleration (Lobo 785). General Cromwell s actions towards saving
religion toleration are what brought Milton the use of personification to be able to
describe his character. Milton asks for the help of Cromwell when he says Help us
to save free conscience from the paw and uses the word conscience to refer to the
battle within his mind to fight for the freedom of religion. Milton is praising
Cromwell as a God figure that came and saved those from the dominance of the
Presbyterian system. On verse 3 Guided by faith and matchless fortitude (Milton
1941) Milton used figurative language by stating that Cromwell was the figure that

Iran under the Pahlavi Monarchy
For many centuries such as the early 1500 s, Iran has been an islamic state
consisting of Shiites majority, ruled by the Qajar dynasty (1796 1925). However,
in the early 1920 s during a time of instability in Iran, Reza Khan (1878 1944), an
officer was able to overthrow the Qajar dynasty and crown himself as the shah in
1925. With it s next door neighbor Turkey already modernized, Reza had ambitions
for Iran; he wanted to modernize Iran as well , that being he wanted to bring change
within the nation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reza shah was also able to lay out his plans which consisted of implementing
infrastructure projects, building a railroad system, establishing a public education
system, as well as developing huge industries and overall improving the health
care system, and finally reforming the judiciary branch in Iran. With all these
reforms at work, Reza shah was able to turn Iran into an industrialized nation;
though by mid 1930 s many religious and intellectual elites were dissatisfied by the
shah s dictatorial ways in Iran; thus foreshadowing the coming introduction of
Ayatollah Khomeini against the modernized idealism of Reza shah. During World
War II, Iran s oil resources alone played a factor in overthrowing the shah (Reza),
which is analyzed by Mohammad Gholi Majd in his book, Great Britain and Reza
Shah: The Plunder of Iran, 1921 1941 . With Great Britain being the majority holder
of the Anglo Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), they feared the possibility of an alliance

The Importance Of Population Development In Australia
200 years after Australia s Indigenous forcibly had to share their land, the growth of
population and development that Australia has experienced is unprecedented.
Currently Australia s population stands at 24 Million and it is on a continuous rise,
due to a combination of both, a high birth rate and a significant number of immigrants
per annum. As a multicultural nation, the immigrationintake is a major factor, and is
said to have generated just over half (56%) of population growth, this is due to the
demand to settle permanently in Australia, work for an amount of time or study as
student (Wilson, 2017). Furthermore, interest in population policy was once again
visited in 2010, when the current Prime Minister Kevin Ruddproclaimed that he
supported a Big Australia , along with a released prediction that by 2050 Australia
s population would reach 36 Million (Brown, 2011, pp.1). However, the opposition
leader Tony Abbott, took this opportunity to gather support from the public, and
argued for a sustainable population policy, and calling Rudd out on a reckless
commitment , which Julia Gillard once Rudd was ousted, was also quick to favour,
focusing her views on a sustainable approach to population growth (Brown, 2011,
pp.2). The population policy debate is widely discussed and a driver for public
concern, but the birth rate and the rate of net overseas migration is on a continuous
high and both factors are relatively hard to control or predict. A range of

The practice of censorship and banning of books in learning institution has been
prevalent mostly due to the explicit content incorporated in them. However, banning
of certain books in pretense to conceal content perceived inappropriate to
impressionable children is an infringement of their right to access information of their
area of choice. While banning some book at times has valid reasons, it is important
to endorse and emphasize that every child has the liberty to select, at their discretion,
which book to read. While it is agreeable that parents and teachers should play a
noble role in regulating books that entail controversial topics as well as educating

Book censorship and bans only primes to conformity and thus limiting the variety
and range of expression as well as inquiry on which the philosophy depends.
Banning and censoring reading materials is capable of limiting the technological
innovations, research as well as creativity. It is hence the responsibility of the
democracy to avail a diversity of views whether popular or unpopular and else
should not coerce the opinions and ideas of some while inhibiting the exertions of
others (Memphis, 1). Rather than banning books content, publishers should rather
give complete connotation to the liberty of reading by providing books capable of
enriching the diversity as well as the quality of knowledge. Reading liberation is of
diminutive consequence not unless the reader obtains materials suiting their
purposes. Books should hence not be banned due to diverse peoples conflicting
views either since one is not entitled to agree with what he reads but should rather
learn from it. For instance, history aids students in knowing the events that transpired

Why Canada Is An International Reputation As A

Introduction
Sector Definition
The term Accommodation can be defined in many ways, the Merriam Webster
Dictionary defines it as a place (such as a room in a hotel) where travelers can sleep
and find other services (2014), however, anyone that has ever travelled can tell you
that accommodation is much more than that.
The word itself comes from the Latin accommodare , meaning, to fit one thing to
another . It entered the English language in the 17th century and now describes a
thriving sector in an ever growing industry. Today, five hundred years later, the
accommodation sector has become one of the largest and fastest growing sectors in
the tourism industry. It is the largest group for employment following Food and
Beverage Services and offers a wide variety of career opportunities as well as
products and services.
Main Canadian Companies
Canada has an international reputation as a hospitable nation. With some of the most
beautiful sceneries in the world, 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites, and events, it
attracts over 16 million tourists a year; Canada is a booming tourist destination.
Much of the country s tourism is centered in the country s largest metropolitan areas
Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa well known for their multiculturalism and
diversity. Canada offers a wide range of options for travelers. The accommodation
industry is competitive, with many national and international brands operating within
the country.

Imaginative Journeys
An imaginative journey can be defined as an extension of reality that transcends
physical barriers. Through the use of abstract notions and an element of surrealism,
an imaginative journey can result in distortion of the boundaries between imagination
and reality. This type of journey involves readers by drawing on their imagination and
can therefore result in the transformation of perceptions and attitudes, which may also
stimulate a senseof enlightenment for both the characters and the responder. These
characteristics are evident in the three texts I have studied, The Tempest by William
Shakespeare, Victor Fleming s, The Wizard of Oz and Sky High by Hannah Robert.

Initially, Dorothy longs for a place where she can be freed from the all the struggles
of her current life, and the world that she and her companions are taken into, is a
world which will aid each and every one of them in a journey of self discovery and
awakening. For each of the characters, their radical transformations are stimulated
through the hindrances and limitations faced by the characters within the imaginative
journey. The use of colour is important in The Wizard of Oz as it helps to distinguish
realism from idealism. The real events occurring in Kansas (Dorothy s home town)
are portrayed in chromatic colours and provide meaning and emphasis on the
imaginative journey in the land of Oz, while the use of extremely bright colours
during the major part of the film is important as it creates an atmosphere of
surrealism, especially when contrasted with the black and white. Also, the
combinations of two genres musical and drama generate a dreamlike environment
through the use of juxtaposition and contrast, emphasizing the concept of the
imaginative journey.
The third text, Sky High , composed by 18 year old Hannah Robert in 1994, is
another example of an imaginative journey. Although written in prose, this text can
also be viewed as a reflective narrative in the form of a poem due to the way in
which the narrator thinks back to her childhood memories. In this text, the

How Did Muhammad Spread Islam
Muhammad was born around 570 CE in Mecca. Muhammad had a lot of struggles
since meeting Gabriel to spread Islam. All his hardwork and sacrifice paid off when
the Muslims won the battle of Madinah. Since his early life, he became a prophet
and brought Islam to the Arabians. Towards the end of his life, he moved to Madinah
and did his last Sermon. After his death Islamgrew into a great empire that helped
mold the world we know today by helping create advanced technology to make life
easier for us today. Around 570 CE, the birth of Muhammadhappened in Makkah. His
clan, the Hashim, was poor. Unfortunately for Muhammad, his dad died early
throughout Muhammad s life. His mom sent him to a nomad family, where he learned
Arab traditions. At the age of 5 or 6, he went back to the city, reunited with his
mom. Unfortunately for both of them, Muhammad s mom died shortly after some
time. He became a trader at the age of 12 with his uncle, and has success at Seria.

Tony, Conner, and Vanessa grew up in different social classes but for the most part
thats not the social class they wanted to live in. Conner grew up in a high social

A, is a neuromuscular junction blocking agent produced by the bacterium
Clostridium Botulinum ( Botulinum Toxin ). In other words, Botox is derived from
the same poisonous bacterium which causes botulism a deadly food poisoning. The
Botox works by blocking the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which
results in muscle weakness. It does not alter the muscle or the nerve, but prevents
the relay of information between the two ( Botulinum Toxin ). Therefore, Botox is
beneficial in the treatment of wrinkles and frown lines because it causes specific
muscles to relax, which in turn lessens the lines of facial expressions. Because
Botox relaxes specific muscles, it is also used to treat a variety of medical conditions
dealing with muscle spasms.
Botox was first used in the 1980s to treat muscular problems with the eyes, such as
uncontrolled blinking and squinting, lazy eyes and crossed eyes (Health Beat).
Botox has also been used to stop excess sweating by injecting the toxin into the sweat
ducts in the skin (Channel 2000). However, in 1989, Dr.

Researchers routinely choose an в—Љ level of 0.05 for testing their hypotheses.
What are some experiments for which you might want a lower в—Љ level (e.g.,
0.01)? What are some situations in which you might accept a higher level (e.g., 0.1)?
An alpha level of 0.05 is arbitrary and was set as a standard by scientists. One of the
key concepts in hypothesis testing is that of significance level or, the alpha level,
which specifies the probability level for the evidence to be an unreasonable estimate.
Unreasonable means that the estimate should not have taken its particular value
unless some non chance factor(s) had operated to alter the nature of the sample such
that it was no longer representative of the population of interest. (Price, 2000) ...

How would you explain the analysis of variance, assuming that your audience has not
had a statistics class before?
When examining the differences between two or more groups, you can use the
analysis of variance which is known as ANOVA. This is a statistical technique that
is used to compare the means or averages of more than two groups. There are three
uses of ANOVA which are the one way, the two way and N way Multivariate
ANOVA. (Solutions, 2013) The determining factor when to use one of the ways is
dependent upon how many treatments are used in the study. We use the term
treatment because ANOVA originated in the 1920 s to test different treatments of
fertilizers crop yields. ( Analysis of Variance, 2012, p. 2) Here, we will cover the one
way and the two way ANOVA.
The one way between groups, ANOVA is used when you want to test the difference
between two or more groups. This is the simplest version of ANOVA. (Crossman,
2013) This could be used for example in a study on the ages of patients on different
cardiac medications. Here we are only looking at

that they are ready to mingle again, but they are wrong! Are you one of them? How
ready do you think you are to mingle once more? People are single for many

single, just came out of an emotional relationship and went through a trying

Salt Late City Law History Essay
Salt Late City Law History
Salt Lake City looks like a very large well organised city, there are fair house
allotments and they were quite large. The city is a good strong planned community
with lots of residential areas. The way the city is set out it is obvious that a strong
leader who knew what he wanted has planned the city and shows through the city
that it is very disciplined. There may have been school their as well which would
have proven what a well organised city this is. There are a few large churches, which
tells us that this city is prosperous and religious.
In early mining towns there were many problems within the community, this was
mainly caused by a group called the roughs this ... Show more content on

Apart from law and order there were many other problems in mining towns. The
majority of the population were males and built their own cabins, this meant they
were probably not very good or safe. Also they did there own cooking, which
probably wasn t the best diet and probably got food poisoning often. There was an
epidemic of typhoid in fall and early winter but there were no deaths, which show
there were healthy and strong. The houses had no drains and most houses were badly
kept so the houses were most likely dirty.
The problems of law and order in early western towns can be studied using the
sources these show lots of lawlessness in towns and murdering. One source shows a
bank robbery, this is proof that the towns did not have any policing. The source
shows also that a few vigilantes on the scene, further proof that the towns were
lawless. Vigilantes were present because of the lack of law that there was in the
towns. They felt it necessary that law had to be imposed on the town other wise it
could fall apart.
Another source shows a notice from vigilantes pinned to a man hung for murder.
This is useful because it shows the vigilantes taken the law into there own hands. It
also states the reasons for the vigilantes forming, it tells us that life and security is
too sacred to not be protected so they will resort to these means even if it means
killing

The institutions of Government have certainly fell short of providing this promise for equal justice of all citizens both prior and after Dr. King s speech and the civil rights movement. There is little doubt good progress has been made in reaching Dr. King s I have a dream speech however, ongoing efforts need to continue to ensure equal justice for all citizens. Given the recent political changes and the passing of Justice Scalia, there is a bit of uncertainty if our promise of equal justice for all citizens will continue to be pursued and upheld. Even though some people may think we are in a post racial America, racism is still exists, systemic group privilege and systems of power and oppression have created several disadvantages for certain minority groups and people of color. As Dr. King proclaimed and for the constitutional system to function properly it requires the underlying principle of equal justice and equal citizenship to all people. This has come about through a slow progress of enforcement in the aftermath of the Civil War. It s important to understand some of the early attempts to enforce equal justice under the law to Constitution. During the period of reconstruction, Congress, authorized by the final clauses of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendment, passed several civil rights laws that were

Blackberry tried to handle its current keyboard cell phones as well as the Storm. In performing this, the end result didn t attract the traditional Blackberry customers or to those hoping to change to a touchscreen phone. This lead to dysfunction and frustration. • 7. The Birth Order Of A Child In the order of which you are born are so important in some families. In some cultures, the most important order to be in for a child was to be the oldest. Being the oldest, you could be first for the throne or first as a prince or princess. Different spots of birth order create certain differences between children belonging to this or that spot inside the family. These differences show why siblings are not alike. The term siblings are used to identify children who are brothers and sisters coming from that same mom and dad. The commonly known words sibling rivalry may be understood as a phenomenon caused directly by the order in which you were born in. From the research of Alfred Adler, the birth orderof a child is the predictor of his future characteristics. Adler said that, the firstborn children are dethroned when the next child comes along and that they may never recover from that. Adler believed that the true reason for the differences between siblings is the desire to be different and have different characteristics, to be individual and not compared to their other sibling, and to stand out from the crowd of other children. Siblings ranging in age are always competing for the love of the mom and dad. Also, the oldest and the youngest always seem to have to fight for power over one another to gain control of the situation. I m the oldest, so I m going to be in charge! Or you hear the youngest one say, I m going tell mom you re being bossy! You re not the boss

In the case of Lust, it seems as though the mother is more interested in playing the role of a friend, rather than a parent. This type of parenting style leads to a lack of self control and maturity in the child (Cherry). How does this relate to love? As mentioned before, it is very difficult for a person to love when they do not know what it feels like to be loved. With the absence of her parents, or any parental figures, the main character does not understand what it feels like to be loved by a parent. When this occurs, it is very likely that a female (especially without a father figure) would seek love in the wrong places, in this case from other male figures. • 13. The Foreign Exchange Regulation Act The Foreign Exchange Regulation Act or FERA, passed by the Parliament in 1973, was framed to eradicate crimes relating to foreign exchange in the country , such that the economic development, which was still in its pre liberalization era and thus slow, was not adversely affected. It was also to preserve the scarce Forex or foreign exchange currency in the country and hence tried to keep a strict control on these particular resources. However, it was repealed and replaced by the Foreign Exchange Management Act(1999) to reinforce and fortify the development and the maintenance of the foreign exchange resources in the country. It was more extensive, comprehensive and since the floodgates of the economy had opened after liberalization in 1991, had more scope to actually reinvigorate the availability of foreign exchange in the country. This act, in essence, was formed to keep in check the foreign exchange resources in the country and hence all business deals involving foreign exchange need to be authorized by the Government. It is drastic in nature as it does not allow arbitrary trade in foreign exchange of any form, as this is a resource that needs to be willfully protected. Under this Act, Lalit Modi had performed a number of violations. He accepted a deposit of в‚№ 200 million from UK based Emerging Media (IPL), in contravention of FEMA, where other BCCI officials were also involved. The calculation of FCF can be done according to the formula shown by Figure 1 (based on [Copeland, Murrin and Koller, 2000], [Fernandez, 2002] and [Agar, 2005]). Initially, we need to determine Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT), which represents hypothetical earnings before tax which ignores the effect of interests paid on debt. It can be calculated as the reported earnings before tax plus the interest expense stated in the income statement [Bodie, Kane and Marcus, 2004]. The EBIT should then be reduced by the hypothetical tax (computed as EBIT * tax rate) in order to obtain Earnings After Tax without the effect of debt financing. This number shows the accounting profit which would have been realized had the firm used no debt to finance its operation. 1 According to [Fernandez, 2002], the most important types of cash flow are the Free cashflow (cash flow available to satisfy both the shareholders and creditors return requirements), the Equity Cash flow (cash flow available for shareholders) and the Debt Cash flow (cash flow available for creditors). 14 Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) Tax on EBIT (EBIT * Tax rate) Accounting earnings = Earnings After Tax without debt + Depreciation expense Increase in gross fixed assets Increase in Working Capital Adjusting items = FREE CASH FLOW (FCF)

Maybe it was the man who sat obliviously behind you on the airplane, while his little boy ran up and down the aisle, screaming at the top of his lungs. These are the pardoned parents. They set no boundaries for her in any area of her life until a young teacher, Annie Sullivan, who was visually impaired herself, came to teach Helen. Miss Sullivan taught not only Helen, but also Helen s family. Under her guidance, the family learned that Helen s disabilities did not necessarily mean that she could never function as a useful member of society. The Soviet Prison Labor Camp System Solzhenitsyn envisioned and captured the persona of the Soviet prison labor camp system by describing as a chain of hidden islands amongst the USSR landscape. Solzhenitsyn sees himself lifting the shroud that the Soviet regime tried to hide the gulags behind by telling his story of his time in the gulags. Reading his book gave the reader the sense of reading a forbidden text, something surrounded in secrecy. Solzhenitsyn develops themes throughout the book. These fetid and morbid islands would see millions of unfortunate visitors forced to slave away at one of the world s largest and fastest infrastructure and industrialization builds in the history of mankind perpetuated by the will of Stalin and his secret police the NKVD. In this beautifully and treacherously written story, Alexander Solzhenitsyn goes from his glory filled days as a distinguished officer to just an exhausted instrument of the Soviet state. Solzhenitsyn describes early on in the book about the cryptic nature of the gulag. No one knows and no one asks about the gulags. The only way to get to the fabled islands is to be a member within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a conscripted guard, or one of the millions sent to their doom. This same mysticism is projected well into his work, as the Gulag Archipelago was a banned piece of work by the communist party. The reader can feel a risky nature to reading the novel. Hadrian is considered on the five good Emperors by many historians, as he was seen to be a humanitarian by most. He was responsible for the building of Hadrian s Wall in Britannia, as well as rebuilding the pantheon, and also the construction of the temple of Venus and Roma. Hadrian was also noticeably philhellene in his tastes, which explains well his desire to make Greece the cultural capital of the Roman Empire. His love of all things Greek, lead to the Greek culture being considered one the most popular cults in ancient times. During his reign, Hadrian travelled to nearly every province within the Empire, as well as being very involved with the military. He would often wear military uniforms or armours, and also slept and dined with Roman soldiers. After Emperor Trajan died in 117 AD, Hadrian quickly secured legitimacy to his claim to power through endorsement from the Senate and the Syrian armies. Various public ceremonies were also organized. One specific Egyptian papyri tells of one such ceremony organized somewhere between 117 118 AD, in which it was praised that Hadrian had been divinely chosen by his deified father and by the gods

In 1963, Argentine cartoon strip artist JoaquГn Salvador Lavado, better known as Quino, was commissioned to create a Peanuts esk advertisement for a brand of domestic appliances (Kuntz). To familiarize himself with Peanuts, American cartoon by Charles M. Schulz, Quino purchased all of the Peanutsbooks that he could find in Buenos Aires (Kuntz). After studying Schulz s work Quino adapted the general concept for an Argentine audience and Mafalda was born (Kuntz). Unfortunately the world did not meet Mafalda in 1963 through the ad campaign because the magazine that was going to publish the cartoons realized it was closet advertising (qtd in Kuntz). It would take another year before Mafalda made her debut in the Argentine magazine Primera Plana (Cosse). Mafalda went on to run parallel to Peanuts from 1964 to 1973 (Patten; Charles M. • 21. The Organizational Culture Affects The Organization Intelligent, thoughtful people can form into organizations that are unproductive and ineffective in relation to their stated missions. This happens often and frequently, and there are many reasons why such a case can occur. This essay will discuss two possible reasons for such ineffectiveness and lack of productivity. Firstly, organizations may have an overall structurethat is not conducive to success in relation to their mission. Secondly, the organizational culture affects the organization in such a negative way that the mission becomes clouded in the eyes of many employees and managers. Organizations often fail because of a lack of balance in a structure that makes sense for that particular organization. This can be illustrated one way by comparing the images of organizations as machines and organisms. Organizations as machines focus on hierarchical structure. Hierarchical structure works very well for some types of organizations. Organizations that are focused on things like national security, disease prevention, or food safety are able to flourish under the mechanical structure. This is because these types of organisms need to focus on efficiency, predictability, and stability. Specialized roles help these organizations to carry out their mission most effectively. Those dealing with food monitoring and safety need to be experts in very specific areas of that particular work. Armed services need specialized roles for those who operate heavy machinery, use

The detrimental environment surrounding these women frequently results in sullenness, lack of social assertiveness, and belief that they are less competent than male students. Even if time spent at an academic institution is minimal, with this kind of prejudice faced at an early age, any woman black or otherwise, would suffer the rest of their life. In response to the discrimination faced at universities, some have created programs to aid black students and other minorities; these programs tend to generalize the needs of all its black students and do not fully support black women specifically. Double discrimination and its effects are not only seen in academe. Social injustice occurs in any situation where people are treated unequally and includes discrimination and racism. For much of the twentieth century, crime and punishment have provided some of the most powerful symbols of racial divide in America (Rosich, 2007). As a multicultural nation, the immigrationintake is a major factor, and is said to have generated just over half (56%) of population growth, this is due to the demand to settle permanently in Australia, work for an amount of time or study as student (Wilson, 2017). Furthermore, interest in population policy was once again visited in 2010, when the current Prime Minister Kevin Ruddproclaimed that he supported a Big Australia , along with a released prediction that by 2050 Australia s population would reach 36 Million (Brown, 2011, pp.1). However, the opposition leader Tony Abbott, took this opportunity to gather support from the public, and argued for a sustainable population policy, and calling Rudd out on a reckless commitment , which Julia Gillard once Rudd was ousted, was also quick to favour, focusing her views on a sustainable approach to population growth (Brown, 2011, pp.2). For each of the characters, their radical transformations are stimulated through the hindrances and limitations faced by the characters within the imaginative journey. The use of colour is important in The Wizard of Oz as it helps to distinguish realism from idealism. The real events occurring in Kansas (Dorothy s home town) are portrayed in chromatic colours and provide meaning and emphasis on the imaginative journey in the land of Oz, while the use of extremely bright colours during the major part of the film is important as it creates an atmosphere of surrealism, especially when contrasted with the black and white. In addition, considering it is a relatively new procedure, I wanted to know if there were other doctors in the local area who were performing this procedure and, most importantly, the price I would have to pay to undo my furrowed brow. Through my research I found that Botox, the trade name for Botulinum Toxin type A, is a neuromuscular junction blocking agent produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum ( Botulinum Toxin ). In other words, Botox is derived from the same poisonous bacterium which causes botulism a deadly food poisoning. The Botox works by blocking the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which results in muscle weakness. It does not alter the muscle or the nerve, but prevents the relay of information between the two ( Botulinum Toxin ). Therefore, Botox is beneficial in the treatment of wrinkles and frown lines because it causes specific muscles to relax, which in turn lessens the lines of facial expressions. Because Botox relaxes specific muscles, it is also used to treat a variety of medical conditions dealing with muscle spasms. Botox was first used in the 1980s to treat muscular problems with the eyes, such as uncontrolled blinking and squinting, lazy eyes and crossed eyes (Health Beat). Botox has also been used to stop excess sweating by injecting the toxin into the sweat ducts in the skin (Channel 2000). However, in 1989, Dr.

What are some experiments for which you might want a lower в—Љ level (e.g., 0.01)? What are some situations in which you might accept a higher level (e.g., 0.1)? An alpha level of 0.05 is arbitrary and was set as a standard by scientists. One of the key concepts in hypothesis testing is that of significance level or, the alpha level, which specifies the probability level for the evidence to be an unreasonable estimate. Unreasonable means that the estimate should not have taken its particular value unless some non chance factor(s) had operated to alter the nature of the sample such that it was no longer representative of the population of interest. When examining the differences between two or more groups, you can use the analysis of variance which is known as ANOVA. This is a statistical technique that is used to compare the means or averages of more than two groups. There are three uses of ANOVA which are the one way, the two way and N way Multivariate ANOVA. (Solutions, 2013) The determining factor when to use one of the ways is dependent upon how many treatments are used in the study. We use the term treatment because ANOVA originated in the 1920 s to test different treatments of fertilizers crop yields. ( Analysis of Variance, 2012, p. 2) Here, we will cover the one way and the two way ANOVA. The one way between groups, ANOVA is used when you want to test the difference between two or more groups. This is the simplest version of ANOVA. (Crossman, 2013) This could be used for example in a study on the ages of patients on different cardiac medications. Here we are only looking at

One source shows a bank robbery, this is proof that the towns did not have any policing. The source shows also that a few vigilantes on the scene, further proof that the towns were lawless.
