This document provides instructions for performing various administrative tasks in Google Classroom, such as changing passwords and profile pictures, customizing class themes, adding and removing students from classes, archiving and deleting classes, and more. Each task is broken down into step-by-step instructions. Key information includes signing into Classroom with a G Suite for Education account, accessing account and class settings menus, and performing actions like uploading photos, entering codes, checking boxes, and confirming options.

3. Currently, you can change your password only in the web version of Classroom.
1. Sign in to Classroom with your G Suite for Education account, which looks
like name@myschool.edu. Learn more.
2. In the top-left corner, click Menu .
3. Scroll down and click Settings.
4. Click Google account settings.
5. In the Sign-in & security section, select Signing in to Google.
6. Click Password.
7. Enter your current password and click Sign in.
8. Enter your new password. We recommend that you choose a password with at least 8
characters. Why?
Confirm the password and click Change Password.

4. To make yourself visible to your students, you can display a profile photo next to your name. Classroom
uses your G Suite for Education profile picture as your Classroom profile photo.
Note: Currently, you can update your profile photo only in the web version of Classroom.
1. Sign in to Classroom with your G Suite for Education account, which looks
like name@myschool.edu. Learn more.
2. In the top-left corner, click Menu .
3. Scroll down and click Settings.
4. Click Change profile picture.
5. Upload a new photo, select a photo from your computer, or take a photo with your computer’s camera.
You might need to allow Google Drive to access your computer’s camera.
6. (Optional) Drag or resize the box over your photo to size it to fit.
7. Click Set as profile photo.
Note: Once you add a profile photo, you can’t remove it—you can only replace it with a different
photo.

5. After you create a class, you can change the default image or color pattern that's displayed at the top of
the class stream. Only a teacher can change the theme.
Choose a different theme image from the gallery
1. Go to classroom.google.com.
2. Click the class and at the bottom of the image, click Select theme.
3. Choose an option:
 Select an image from the gallery and then click Select class theme.
 Click Patterns, select a color and pattern, and click Select class theme.
Upload your own theme image
1. Open the class and at the bottom of the image, click Upload photo.
2. Choose an option:
 Drag a photo from your computer to the middle of the screen.
 Click Select a photo from your computer, choose the image you want to use for your class, and
click Open.

2.On the class card, click More Edit.
3.Enter a new name, a new section or grade if
needed, and click Save.

2.Click the class.
3.At the top, click Students. The class code is on the left.
4.Send an email to students with the class code or write it on the board in your classroom.
5.Give the students these instructions:
1.Sign in to Classroom at classroom.google.com.
2.On the homepage, click Add .
3.In the box, enter the code that I gave you and click Join.
To reset or disable the code, click it and then select Reset or Disable.

2.Click the class Students.
3.Check the box next to the student, or students, you want to remove.
4.At the top of the page, click Actions Remove.
5.To confirm, click Remove.

9. You and your students can view an archived class, but you can't modify an archived
class until it is restored. You can still access any archived class files in Google Drive.

2.On the class card, click More Archive.
3.To confirm, click Archive.

10. To permanently delete a class, you must first archive it. You can’t delete a
class unless it’s archived.
1.Sign in to Classroom with your G Suite for Education account, which

2.Click Menu Archived classes.
3.On the class card, click More Delete.
4.To confirm, click Delete.
Warning: There's no way to undo deleting a class. If you click Delete,
you'll no longer have access to any class posts or comments. However,
you can still access your class files in Drive.
