2. OBJECTIVE:
To provide uninterrupted power supply to a load, by selecting the supply from any source out of
four such as Mains, Generator, Inverter and Solar automatically in the absence of any of the
source.
ABSTRACT:
LPG gas is supplied in pressurized steel cylinders. As this gas is heavier than air, when it leaks
from a cylinder it flows along floor and tends to settle in low spots such as a basement. This can
cause fire or suffocation if not dealt with. Here is a circuit that detects the leakage of LPG gas
and alerts the user through audio-visual indications. In this project we have used MQ-6 gas
sensor. Whenever LPG gas is leaked the sensor detects and it passes signal to timer circuit. This
circuit can detect leakages in your Home, car or in a service station, storage tank environment.
This project is designed to detect the LPG from 200parts per million (PPM) to 10,000 PPM.

WORKING:
The project is selection of supply from Mains,Generator, Inverter and Solar automatically
by using microcontroller concept.
As it is not feasible to provide all four different sources of supply, one source with
alternate switches are provided to get the same function.
In this project we are having four switches which we consider as four different sources of
supply. When we press any of the switches, it shows the absence of that particular source
which is connected to microcontroller as input signals.
Here we are using 8051 family Microcontroller. The output of the microcontroller is
given to the ULN2003. This acts as a relay driver.
This can drive upto 7 relays. The relays which are used here are 12 V relay. The output
can be observed using lamp which is getting uninterrupted power supply from other
means if main supply is cut off.
The power supply consists of a step down transformer 230/12 V, which steps down the
voltage 12 V AC.
ADVANTAGES:
1. It is used in house as LPG leakage detection.
5. 2. It also detect alcohol so it is used as liquor tester.
3. The sensor has excellent sensitivity combined with a quick response time.
APPLICATIONS:
1. Protection from any gas leakage in cars.
2. For safety from gas leakage in heating gas fired appliances like boilers, domestic water
heaters For safety from gas leakage in Cooking gas fired appliances like ovens, stoves etc
3. Large industries which uses gas as their production.
4.They are used in gas leakage detecting equipments in family, Car and industry, are suitable for
detecting of LPG, iso-butane, propane, LNG, avoid the noise of alcohol and cooking fumes and
cigarette smoke.
