Through the statistics, we came to know about the deteriorating health and the lack of knowledge among the Indian women, which has led to the deterioration in the health of the young India. The lack of knowledge regarding sanitation, pregnancy and child care is a root cause of many problems. So, we have proposed an idea for some steps to be taken in this direction.

Community Based Environmental Health Promotion Programme
This document describes the Community Based Environmental Health Promotion Programme (CBEHPP) in Rwanda. The objectives are to reduce disease burden and contribute to poverty reduction by 2012 through empowering communities. The implementation strategy is to strengthen 45,000 community health workers who facilitate formation of community hygiene clubs. The clubs, made up of 100 households each, work to identify and solve hygiene and environmental health problems in their communities through weekly meetings and home visits. Progress is monitored through household surveys and record keeping.

We recently hosted the much-anticipated Community Skill Builders Workshop during our June online meeting. This event was a culmination of six months of listening to your feedback and crafting solutions to better support your PMI journey. Here’s a look back at what happened and the exciting developments that emerged from our collaborative efforts.
A Gathering of Minds
We were thrilled to see a diverse group of attendees, including local certified PMI trainers and both new and experienced members eager to contribute their perspectives. The workshop was structured into three dynamic discussion sessions, each led by our dedicated membership advocates.
Key Takeaways and Future Directions
The insights and feedback gathered from these discussions were invaluable. Here are some of the key takeaways and the steps we are taking to address them:
• Enhanced Resource Accessibility: We are working on a new, user-friendly resource page that will make it easier for members to access training materials and real-world application guides.

- 1. A photo essay on Gandhigram's sanitation efforts for women and all people in the rural village of Muthampatti, Tamil Nadu. Through a project funded by Arghyam in Bangalore, India.
- 3. A field of flowers near the village. Flowers are a main crop in the area. Such flowers are often used for pujas or ceremonies.
- 4. These are temporary settlements used by landless individuals. After they are finished living here, they will burn the structure.
- 5. Near the canal area – the main area of open defecation – in the village.
- 6. This area of the village used to flood with water filled with human sewage during heavy rains.
- 7. A section of the village located near the canal.
- 8. A toilet built by the government in disrepair because it was not built correctly and, therefore, not used.
- 9. A toilet built in the community after outreach and awareness efforts.
- 10. One of the few – if not the only – Western-style toilets in the community. A free-standing latrine built with a loan from Gandhigram.
