Chipko movement
The Chipko movement was a forest conservation movement started in 1970 in the Himalayan region of India to protect trees from being cut down. It involved villagers, particularly women, hugging trees to prevent logging. The movement was a response to widespread deforestation that threatened livelihoods and ecological balance in the region. Notable successes of the movement included stopping contractors from logging in Reni village in 1973 and spreading to other areas through nonviolent protest. The movement's goals were to save trees as the main livelihood source and maintain ecological balance in the forested areas.

Students from Satya Bharti School in Khurana, Haryana organized a campaign called "Green Village-Clean Village through plantation" to address unhygienic open areas and stagnant rainwater pits in their village that were affecting the local environment. They conducted awareness rallies and meetings, cleaned the areas, planted 150 plants they received from the local forest office, and encouraged villagers to build underground toilets, resulting in a cleaner and greener village.

Make Vemulawada Purified Water Zone!
Dr. Chennamaneni Ramesh, an MLA, launched a project 3 years ago to provide purified drinking water to all 70 villages and 3 lakh people in the Vemulawada constituency in order to improve health. The project uses reverse osmosis and UV technology to purify brackish water. It has established 65 water plants serving 2.4 lakh people across 5 mandals. The project provides employment and the water is sold at subsidized rates to help the poor. Feedback shows the water has reduced water-borne diseases in the area.
