Game sense is a constructivist approach to teaching games and sports that encourages student-centered learning through questions and conversation rather than instruction. It shifts the focus from skill development and coach-centered play to appreciating each student's skills and allowing them to develop strategies to use their abilities to their advantage. By modifying games based on student ability levels and emphasizing decision-making, skill adaptation, teamwork and fair play, game sense creates an inclusive environment where learning is the primary goal and students of all skill levels can participate meaningfully. As a future teacher, the author plans to incorporate game sense into their PDHPE lessons to provide equal opportunities for learning through a pedagogy that builds students' confidence and social skills.
