Surgical therapy is usually prescribed to a patient for these underlying problems. The surgeon will attempt to pull the stomach back into the abdomen, correcting the hiatal hernia, but there is another, less invasive way to fix this problem.
If you are diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, via a doctor’s visit and subsequent endoscopic exploration, then you are likely going to be prescribed one of various pharmaceutical medications, or surgeries, most of which can have mild to severe side effects or complications.
For many, the prescribed treatment of a hiatal hernia is similar to the management of GERD. Though surgery is usually only considered for patients with recurring symptoms and those who develop complications, such as recurrent bleeding, ulcerations or strictures, it has become more common in the past several years.
Medication for Hiatus Hernia
Grocare has developed a way to treat hiatal hernia without resorting to these more common methods. It is also very effective.
In Grocare’s estimation, there are a number of underlying reasons that this specific type of hernia develops in the body.
Most often, hiatal hernias are caused by a combination of muscle weakness and strain. This means that hernias can develop based on your lifestyle. Depending on its cause, a hernia can develop quickly or over a long period of time.
An unbalanced lifestyle will contribute to developing hernia most commonly, over a prolonged period of time.
A sedentary lifestyle causes an imbalance of pH in the body which causes all of the organs to weaken (including the stomach and esophagus). When the unbalanced lifestyle is continued over a period of time, it leads to additional stress on the organs – primarily the intestines. Coupled with acidity and an imbalanced pH, a hiatal hernia can develop.
Though there are other reasons that a hiatal hernia can develop, such as coughing excessively, straining during bowel movements or from vomiting, a hiatal hernia that results from these actions also usually indicates weakened organs.
Other people are simply born with a larger opening or valve (hiatus.)
Grocare has noticed that many medical practitioners prescribe chemicals such as omeprazole and esmeprazole for hiatus hernia. These chemical ‘cures’ do not really help in the treatment of your hernia.
Grocare India offers two medicines that address pH balance in the body and begin to decrease inflammation that is caused by improper pH levels.
Hernica and Acidim, have been especially effective in the treatment of hernia.
These natural medicines help the whole system to becomes healthy. They help to reduce the swelling of the intestines, and any obtrusion (lumps) from the stomach into the abdomen starts to heal.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) , Hiatal Hernia at World Class
Hospitals in India
SafeMedTrip.com
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic digestive
disease that occurs when stomach acid or, occasionally, bile
flows back (refluxes) into your food pipe (esophagus). The
backwash of acid irritates the lining of your esophagus .The
esophagus is the tube that carries food from the mouth to the
stomach. The LES is a ring of muscle at the bottom of the
esophagus that acts like a valve between the esophagus and
stomach. When acid reflux occurs, food or fluid can be tasted
in the back of the mouth. When refluxed stomach acid
touches the lining of the esophagus it may cause a burning
sensation in the chest or throat called heartburn or acid
indigestion.
The main symptom of GERD in adults is frequent heartburn,
also called acid indigestion—burning-type pain in the lower
part of the mid-chest, behind the breast bone, and in the mid-
abdomen.

3. What causes Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)?
SafeMedTrip.com
GERD occurs when the anti-reflux mechanisms at the junction between the
esophagus and the stomach do not work properly. This may be due to a
weakness in the lower esophageal sphincter that is supposed to close off the
esophagus from the stomach and stop acid reflux from happening. Other factors
that may contribute to GERD include – Obesity, pregnancy, Smoking and
lifestyle.

4. Laparoscopic Fundoplication Surgery for Gastroesophageal
Reflux Disease (GERD) at World Class Hospitals in India
SafeMedTrip.com
Laparoscopic Fundoplication is a safe procedure, and can provide
less postoperative morbidity in experienced hands. This is a surgical
procedure done for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
Fundus of the stomach which is on the left of the esophagus and
main portion of the stomach is wrapped around the back of the
esophagus until it is once again in front of this structure. The
portion of the fundus that is now on the right side of the esophagus
is sutured to the portion on the left side to keep the wrap in place.
The Fundoplication resembles a buttoned shirt collar. The collar is
the fundus wrap and the neck represents the esophagus imbricated
into the wrap. This has the effect of creating a one way valve in the
esophagus to allow food to pass into the stomach, but prevent
stomach acid from flowing into the esophagus and thus prevent
GERD.

Laparoscopic fundoplication is a useful method for reducing hospital stay,
complications and promotes early return to normal activity. With better training in
minimal access surgery now available, the time has arrived for it to take its place in
the surgeon’s repertoire.
5. Advantages of Laparoscopic Fundoplication Procedure
for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
SafeMedTrip.com
Fundoplication is performed as a Laparoscopic procedure as
this new approach requires only five small incisions.
Patients experience minimal pain and recover faster.
The laparoscope, which is a telescopic videocamera, gives a
better view of the internal organs than the traditional open
procedure. Magnified images viewed on the video monitor
reveal internal structures, including blood vessels in
exquisite detail.

• Lesser blood loss than the traditional approach.
• Lesser rate of infection.
• Lesser complications.
• Minimal pain.
• Faster recovery- The patient can return to work in one or two
weeks.
6. Hiatal Hernia
SafeMedTrip.com
A Hiatal Hernia occurs when part of your stomach pushes
upward through your diaphragm. Your diaphragm normally
has a small opening (Hiatus) through which your food tube
(esophagus) passes on its way to connect to your stomach.
The stomach can push up through this opening and cause a
hiatal hernia.
In most cases, a small hiatal hernia doesn't cause problems,
and you may never know you have a hiatal hernia unless
your doctor discovers it when checking for another
condition. But a large hiatal hernia can allow food and acid
to back up into your esophagus, leading to heartburn. Self-
care measures or medications can usually relieve these
symptoms, although a very large hiatal hernia sometimes
requires surgery.

7. Hiatal Hernia
SafeMedTrip.com
Types of Hiatal Hernia
• Sliding Hiatal Hernia: The most common (95%) is the
sliding hiatus hernia, where the gastro-esophageal junction
moves above the diaphragm together with some of the
stomach.
• Rolling Hiatal Hernia: The second kind is rolling (or
paraesophageal) hiatus hernia, when a part of the stomach
herniates through the esophageal hiatus and lies beside the
esophagus, without movement of the gastro-esophageal
junction. It accounts for the remaining 5% of hiatus
hernias.

8. Laparoscopic (Key Hole) Hiatal Hernia Surgery - A
Major Advancement in Modern Medical Science
SafeMedTrip.com
The procedure is often done 'laparoscopically' through five small (1.5
cm) cuts (incisions) in your abdomen. The video camera and special
instruments are then inserted through the incisions to do the repair.
You may undergo a "Nissen" Hiatal Hernia procedure where the
stomach is wrapped around the lower end of the esophagus to tighten
up the sphincter.
Occasionally, the surgeon is unable to do the procedure
laparoscopically and must convert to open surgery in order to make it
safer for you. In this case, you will have an incision in the middle of
your abdomen and your recovery will be longer. To help prevent blood
clots from forming in your legs during and after surgery, sequential
compression stockings may be applied.

Procedure : Laparoscopic Hernia Repair
"My problem was a hernia in my abdomen which rally started to bother me for
last three years and was getting worse each day. I saw a TV program in the US
that dealt with medical tourism, and Indian hospitals were highly spoken of in
that segment. I thought that probably some day I might need to go to one. I
had never bought medical insurance because it's extremely expensive in the
US. But I hardly knew anything about India. In Houston where I live, there are
large numbers of Indian doctors. I contacted some of them and asked them
about Indian hospitals, and everyone said that the level of medical practice in
India was as good as in the United States. I wrote to a few hospitals, but did
not get a response,
10. I had so many questions to ask Then I searched online and found
SafeMedTrip.com"I have had an excellent time here. Everybody has been
extremely helpful. As far as food is concerned, it's different from the US, but
SafeMedTrip spoke to hospital staff who went out of their way to try to get things I
like to eat. I find the doctors here to be highly professional. And the nurses, what
can I say? They have done a great job! Everyone from the food service personnel to
the housekeeping staff are always ready to serve. The facilities are excellent. I had
a decent room for myself, and my wife was able to stay with me quite comfortably.
I sincerely appreciate your efforts, and let me say that SafeMeTrip.com will be my
first choice if I ever again need surgical or any other sophisticated medical care
outside the United States or if any of my friends needed a similar service. All the
best
