This document contains marks and feedback from Lucy FROUD's A2 coursework. There is evidence of proficiency in the creative use of most of the technical skills
Footage:
Good use of camera, with some variety of shots, all in focus. Some good use of
mise-en-scene (especially the use of locations).
Editing:
Video is edited to beat with good actions to beat.
Overall:
Video which meets conventions of the genre. Some attention to visuals to maintain
audience interest. Needed a narrative to link visuals to lyrics.
Construction – Ancillary Task 1 (Digipak) comments and mark out of 7/10
Lucy has demonstrated proficiency in the design of her digipak for her artist. There
is clear awareness of the industry conventions. A good range of photographs used
and are appropriate to the task and genre. Appropriate use of photoshop to create
the digipak although more skills could have been used.
Construction – Ancillary Task 2 (Poster) comments and mark out of 7/10
Lucy has demonstrated proficiency in the design of her poster for her artist. There
is clear awareness of genre conventions with the addition of facebook, itunes,
instagram and twitter icons. Proficient photoshop skills have been used although
more flair could have been shown.
Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 14/20
Question 1: Answered proficiently using ‘prezi’. You have understood the question
well and state out how your video conforms and challenges the dance music
genre. Good explanation about why you made the choices you did backed up with
some good examples from real media products from within your genre.
Question 2: Answered using ‘goanimate’. You have explained well how your
poster, digipak and music video all link with the same themes. Some good use of
real music industry examples in this answer.
Question 3: Answered using ‘powtoon’. A good range of audience feedback was
undertaken (questionnaire to a variety of age ranges). You have reflected well on
feedback received and acted on initial feedback well.
Question 4: Answered using word and ‘calameo’. All technologies used have
been explained well and in good detail.
Overall this is a proficient body of work. You have explained your design choices
well and reflected on what went well and didn’t. Good use of communication and
good use of ICT.
