1. What I liked about this
magazine cover was how
the artists were the main
feature. They took up the
majority of the Front Page
and the supporting texts
and/or puffs were about
them.
I liked how the female
model was sat in a regal-
looking throne, while the
male was standing behind
her. It showed the clear
status between them. She
is higher/more important
than him. I liked this idea
because I wanted to
subvert from usual
stereotypes where the
men are more important.
I liked how both pieces of media
use the colour of the models’
clothes as a tool to help create the
rest of the image. For example, the
clothes worn by ‘The Black Eyed
Peas’ is mimicked in the masthead
of the magazine (Red, Blue and
Yellow).
Even the lioness is placed
in front of the lion to
show dominance.
These two images are what I used as
inspiration for my Front Cover.
As you can see from my Front Cover, I
took a lot of my inspiration for the
poses of my models from a poster of a
hit TV show.
The colours used on this poster
have been taken mainly from the
female’s dress as well as the lion
and lioness.

2. As you can see here, I have used
a pose for my Front Cover,
similar to the poster from the TV
show. It shows that the female
in the chair is the main focus
and artist. This is also supported
by the microphone in her hand.
Similar to the ‘Billboard’
magazine, I created the colour
palette of my magazine in
regards to the mise-en-scene of
my models.
I used a graphic to highlight that
this magazine was a special
edition to show that this edition
was special due to the exclusive
appearance of my artists. This is
similar to the layout of ‘The
Black Eyed Peas’ because they’re
clearly the most prominent
feature.
As you can see here, I have used
a pose for my Front Cover,
similar to the poster from the TV
show. It shows that the female
in the chair is the main focus
and artist. This is also supported
by the microphone in her hand.
From the poster of the TV show,
I used the lions present to mimic
into my own Front Cover.
However, I used an amplifier
instead to show that this
magazine was about music.
The features of other artists was
taken as inspiration from a rap
magazine by the name ‘XXL’.
