Mary Shomon is a thyroid patient advocate, author, communications consultant, wife and mother
who has transformed her own struggle with thyroid disease into an advocacy campaign on behalf
of patients with chronic diseases such as thyroid disease, autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue,
among others.
Mary was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in 1995, and now researches and writes about thyroid,
autoimmune and hormonal conditions and their impact on health, hormones, and weight. Since early 1997, Mary has
served as founder and Guide for the award-winning About.com Thyroid website, as webmaster of her popular Thyroid-Info
site, and as editor of the popular patient thyroid newsletter, Sticking Out Our Necks.
Mary is the author of many patient-oriented health books and educational materials, including The Menopause Thyroid

Dr. LindaJoy “LJ” Rose is the pioneer of the “Raw Fusion” movement – creating delicious, nutritious
alternatives for traditional favorite comfort foods. Dr. Rose blends the raw foods lifestyle with
healthy mainstream meals with an easy to follow program that heals and transforms your body,
clears your mind and helps you tap your highest potential.
The former Director of International Development for the American Board of Hypnotherapy, with over 25 years of experience in
the field of hypnotherapy, subconscious dynamics, power of suggestion and childhood trauma. Dr. LJ holds a Ph.D. in Cross-
Cultural Psychology with an emphasis on hypnotherapy. She was responsible for the implementation of hypnotherapy training
in certification in many countries including Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The author of eight books including Your Mind: The Owner’s Manual (first edition 1999 Kriya Yoga Publications, second
edition 2005) and Raw Fusion Living: Recipes for Healthy Eating, Natural Weight Loss and Anti-Aging (Quantum Mind Press
– 3rd edition). The child of two Holocaust survivors, Dr. LJ is also a trained volunteer docent at the Florida Holocaust Museum
and has spoken on the topic of latent Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Second Generation issues at the museum and other
venues.

Raffle Prizes
We’ve created a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to raise money and awareness
for the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank and have the chance to win big prizes!
To win any of the fabulous raffle prizes, you can only obtain raffle tickets by donating food or money to the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, located in
the lobby of the Expo Center. You will receive 1 ticket per individual food item or for every $1 you donate. The Food Bank volunteers will separate the
tickets and have you keep one side of the ticket (“retain this ticket”). You will then have the opportunity to enter the expo hall and place the other side of
the raffle ticket in the Raffle Prize boxes that are in each booth that has a Raffle Prize. Of course, the more tickets you place in the box, the greater your
chance of winning.
There will be 4 times during the day when Mega Prizes will be announced at the “Get Fit” Stage. They are high dollar amount items (Cruise, i-Pad, etc)
that require you to be present to win, so listen for announcements and have your tickets ready!
For those prizes that will be drawn at the conclusion of the Expo, we will place the winning ticket numbers next to each prize on this page and you will
have 30 days to claim your prize. Just click on the winning numbers and you will be prompted to upload a photo of the ticket or enter your contact infor-
mation so that we may contact you to verify your ticket. Once verified, the prize will be on its way to YOU!
