What are you living for? Paul said for me to live is Christ. The aim of this lesson is to evaluate what we are living for and see is it in view of heaven.

2. The Apostle Paul said
• Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ,
and to die is gain.
• Philippians 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this
is the fruit of my labor: yet what I shall choose
I know not.
• Philippians 1:23 For I am in a strait between
two, having a desire to depart, and to be with
Christ; which is far better:

3. We all live for various reasons
1. To retire
2. To see children grow up
3. To travel
4. To eat
5. To be entertained
6. To do laugh
7. To do the will of God

4. ????Question????
• What do you hope to accomplish in this
life?
• What do you live for?
• 3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to
hear that my children walk in truth.

5. Some live for pleasure
• For me to live is PLEASURE!
• Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul,
you have many goods laid up for many years;
take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
• Luke 15:13 And not many days later the
younger son gathered everything together,
and took his journey into a far country, and
there wasted his substance with riotous

6. Wisdom speaks
• Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, O young man,
in your youth; and let your heart cheer you
in the days of your youth, and walk in the
ways of your heart, and in the sight of your
eyes: but know that for all these things
God will bring you into judgment.
• Worldly pleasure is temporary!

7. Consider Moses
• Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he
was grown up, refused to be called the
son of Pharaoh's daughter;
• Hebrews 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer
affliction with the people of God, than to
enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time;

8. Nothing wrong with pleasure
• But to let pleasure be the sole focus of life
is the issue.
• Most people don’t attend services
because they are bored.
• We should not look for entertainment in
worship rather edification and to give
praise to GOD.

9. Some for Popularity
• Consider Pilate
• Mark 15:15 And so Pilate, willing to satisfy the
people, released Barabbas unto them, and
delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be
crucified.
• Matthew 27:17 Therefore when they were gathered
together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will you that I
release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called
Christ?
• Matthew 27:18 For he knew that for envy they had
delivered him.

10. Worldly Popularity
• Acts 12:21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in
royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an
oration unto them.
• Acts 12:22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It
is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
• Acts 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord
smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and
he was eaten of worms, and died.

11. Some live for Possessions
• Possessions were the god of the rich fool!
• Luke 12:13-21
