2. Philippians 1:20
• According to my earnest expectation and
my hope, that in nothing I shall be
ashamed, but that with all boldness, as
always, so now also Christ shall be
magnified in my body, whether it be by
life, or by death.

4. How do we magnify Christ?
By serving Him with a full heart
• 2 Kings 10:31 But Jehu took no heed to walk
in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all
his heart: for he departed not from the sins of
Jeroboam, who made Israel to sin.
• Jeremiah 3:10 And yet for all this her
treacherous sister Judah has not turned unto
me with her whole heart, but in pretense, says
the LORD.

5. How do we MAGNIFY Christ?
By our commitment to HIM
• Our commitment is a free choice!
• Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth
as witness this day against you, that I have
set before you life and death, blessing and
cursing: therefore choose life, that both you
and your descendants may live:

6. Daniel’s Commitment
• Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we
serve is able to deliver us from the burning
fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your
hand, O king.
• Daniel 3:18 But if not, be it known unto you,
O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor
worship the golden image which you have set
up.

7. Job’s Commitment
• Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan,
Have you considered my servant Job, that
there is none like him in the earth, a
blameless and an upright man, one that
fears God, and turns away from evil?

and said, Does Job fear God for nothing?

10. By our commitment people will..
• Glorify or Magnify GOD!
• Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.

11. What helps us magnify Christ
Knowing that the battle is already won!
• John 16:33 These things I have spoken
unto you, that in me you might have
peace. In the world you shall have
tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.

12. Knowing that the battle is already won!
• Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more
than conquerors through him that loved us.
• Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death,
nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come,
• Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creation, shall be able to separate us from the love of
God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

• Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ,
and to die is gain.

is the fruit of my labor: yet what I shall choose
I know not.

two, having a desire to depart, and to be with
Christ; which is far better:

14. The Christian life leads to Heaven
• 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The
first man Adam was made a living soul; the
last Adam was made a life-giving spirit.
• 1 Corinthians 15:46 But that was not first
which is spiritual, but that which is natural;
and afterward that which is spiritual.
• 1 Corinthians 15:47 The first man is of the
earth, made of dust: the second man is the
Lord from heaven.

15. The Christian life leads to Heaven
• 1 Corinthians 15:48 As is the earthy, such are
they also that are earthy: and as is the
heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

image of the earthy, we shall also bear the
image of the heavenly.
