The Book Of Mormon Analysis
There is a power that lies in each of us, a flame that burns so bright. Yet, it is only unlocked as we
search, ponder and pray. But about what you may ask. The answer may come as a surprise to
some, or may hit home for others. We each must Search, Ponder and Pray about The Book of
Mormon , about The Prophet Joseph Smith, about the truthfulness of the Church of JesusChrist of
Latter Day Saints.
As we come to gain a testimony we can fuel that fire that burns with in our hearts. We can
increase our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive that comfort and direction, that we all are
so desperate for. We can come to know for a surety that these things are true and really will bless
our lives.
This week I was reminded of this simple truth. As my companion and I walked a long the road,

I didn t care for the typical Hello, we are Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints , would you like to hear a message. Honestly that s a good way to get a door slammed
in your face. People are realistic, and think just like anyone else. They want to know only what s
good for them or what can help them. Sometimes it can be seen as a selfish attitude. So borrowing
a idea from Theodore Roosevelt and applying this phrase, People don t care how much you know
until they know how much you care .
I sought to get to know this man, and I really was genuine about it. People don t like flattery, it s
cheap and it never works. In an honest person to person conversation I did just that. Jacob, told
me about his life, about his job, about his family and about what he was even doing on the car that
he stopped working on to talk to me. I felt the love of God for this man, I truly did. As he talked
and I listen intently. It was almost perfect, almost the hand of the Lord shown forth as the gospel

Valencia Road Essay
Valencia Road reveals society s humanity. Kindness and understanding have become scarce, if
not disappeared completely in today s society. We re so wrapped up in our own lives we forget
about those around us. No longer does a neighbor knock on your door asking for a cup of milk
or sugar for tonight s dinner. Instead you re probably too busy arguing over property lines to
remember their last name. These relationships are explored in ELO Films new short film Valencia
Road. The 7 minute short directed and written by Logan George and Celine Held captures the
interactions and decisions of strangers in a desperate situation. What we stand to learn is how
sometimes even the most tragic events cannot bring us together. The film beings as our... Show

The thoughts we know our characters are having and yet can t seem to say out loud. For
instance this first happens when Catherine called the police. She calls and reports she has seen a
car accident, but as the operator is asking her questions, instead of dealing with the issue at hand
she is more concerned with how long this will take? Even with the possibility of someone being
dead inside that car, her biggest concern is time? This is emphasized as a car barrels down the
road next to her not even bothering to stop. What our filmmakers are trying to do is appeal to our
humanity. They want us to feel the connection to the world and to the woman in the car, only to
shut us down like so many of us have shut the world out. This aspect of the film is what makes it
so incredibly upsetting yet enlightening. We witness a connection between Catherine and the
woman in the car and then it is taken away from us without a second thought. After the car crash
Catherine calls the woman hoping to develop some sort of relationship but is disappointed when
the woman wants nothing to do with her. The audience feels just as disappointed but why? This is
the purpose of the film. The filmmakers so cleverly want us to reach for this connection and we
expect it to be reciprocated. The truth is, that isn t the society we live in

High Rates Of Adverse Neonatal Outcomes
Abstract
Background: High rates of adverse neonatal outcomes have been reported among women with HIV.
In high income countries, small for gestational age (SGA) and pre term birth (PTB) are among the
most prevalent of these outcomes and have been variously associated with antiretroviral treatment,
ethnicity/race, psychosocial risk and lack of prenatal care. While evidence demonstrates that both
medical and social factors contribute to LBW and PTD, risk factors for HIV positive women in
Ottawa, Canada, have not been well described.
Objective: To estimate the proportion and risk factors of SGA and PTB outcomes and characterize
temporal trends among HIV positive women giving birth at an urban hospital in Ottawa, Canada.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study reviewed all cases of pregnant women with HIV
receiving prenatal care and/or giving birth at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) between June 1990 and
July 2010. Data were collected on socio demographics, medical history, and adverse obstetric
outcomes. Univariable logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with small for
gestational age (90% health insurance coverage in our cohort, which provides for HIV and
obstetrical care, and prenatal programs in Ottawa.

Carrefour S.A. Case Write up In order to finance its ongoing expansion, Carrefour decided to issue
EUR750 million 10 year bond through the eurobond market. Investment banks, like Morgan
Stanley and UBS Warburg had suggested that instead of issuing the bond with EUR, Carrefour
could borrow British sterling pounds this time by taking the advantage of a temporary borrowing
opportunity in the currency. Carrefour also faced three other alternatives of issuance: the bond
could be issued at a coupon rate of 5.25% in euro, 3.625% in Swiss francs, or 5.5% in USD.
There are several considerations that Carrefour should take when it evaluated which currency it

different currencies. The markup equals to the difference between the bond s issuing coupon rates

British pounds has the lowest markup among other three currencies. (See Exhibit 3) This 0.001%

Puerto Rico Imperialism
The international perception of Puerto Rico as an American colony a failed economy or a
misunderstood predicament of colonization
Since the end of the Spanish American War in 1898 the United States has proclaim the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico under United States territory. Spain handed Puerto Rico over to the
United States as spoil of war and to liquidate its war debts. To this day, the political, economic, and
cultural impact of the occupation and subsequent annexation of Puerto Rico as an unincorporated
territory remains subject to controversy and debate. The real polemic of this idea resides on the
influence of the United States to held full responsibility for military, monetary, and foreign affairs.
The Popular Democratic Party, led by Luis MuГ±oz MarГn, and the United States in 1952 adopted
Puerto Rico s current Commonwealth status as a global wave of decolonization. Even if this create
the local government and the Constitution that will always be subject to be veto from Congress. In

The Dilemma Of Authenticity And Assimilation
The Dilemma of Authenticity and Assimilation
Kenji Yoshino, through the Covering: the hidden assaults on civil rights , has pen down his
personal experiences of covering while growing up as an Asian American in two different
environments. While Turkle in essay Alone Together embraces authenticity. Authenticity is a
degree to which one is true to one s own personality, spirit or character despite external pressures
like racial discrimination or cultural disparity. She also mentions how technological advancement
can put an end to beautiful concept of authenticity. Authenticity is a gift of nature it cannot be

An attitude based on partiality, this is what discrimination is defines as. When one follows a
stereotype that has been practiced and followed for years this is how discrimination occurs in the
society. Prejudice is what discrimination leads to. Prejudice leads to culture differences and these
differences act as means for people to cover. Yoshino was strongly affected by the concept of
covering and assimilation, he believed that everyone in this world covers in some or the other
positive way. Yoshino has mentioned lots of examples where he was forced to cover as well as
assimilate and has also mentioned some other examples where he noticed people covering.
Yoshino was born and brought up in US, but he was a Japanese by ethnicity. He was forced to
adapt the western way due to the majority of white. Here, majority and western way is considered
as mainstream. This made him loose his originality or say his authenticity. Yoshino s parents
wanted him to retain his authenticity but contrastingly said Be one hundred percent American in
America, and one hundred percent Japanese in Japan (Yoshino 300). He was being offered a
clear cut message from his parents that he needs to cover his identity of being a Japanese when he
is in America and to cover his identity of being American by nature when he is in Japan. His
parents wanted him to retain his ethnicity and to be proud of it. That is why every summer they
sent him to Japanese school in Japan. They wanted

The Structure Of The Skeletal Muscle Essay
In mammals, there are an abundant amount of varying systems and components that all work
together in order for the body to function properly and sustain life; one of those components that
have a great portion of responsibility is the skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscle is responsible for a
great portion of movements of the body, such as transportation, obtaining food, and fight or flight
responses. Muscles are composed myofibrils, which when grouped together forms musclefibers and
when those are grouped together they form muscles fascicles; multiple muscle fascicles are formed
together to form skeletal muscles. All skeletal muscles are motor neuron dependent and composed
of muscle fibers that are innervated by a motor axon and together form what is known as the motor
unit. The muscle fibers all work together to form a muscle contraction, which is initiated by a
neuronal action potential. The action potential can be activated one of two ways, it can be either
voluntary by the person or it can be in voluntary, which would include electrical stimulation to the
peripheral nerve. After the action potential is initiated, a neurotransmitter is released in the
neuromuscular junction, which results in the depolarization of the muscle or a contraction
(Schiaffino, Blaauw, Dyar, 2016). There are several different ways to measure the overall activity
of skeletal muscles; one way deals with the electrical activity. During a contraction of skeletal
muscles a significant amount of

My Co-Op Experience At Venture Connection Startup
Making Social Impact through Design: My Co op Experience at Venture Connection Startup
Working as a User Experience (UX) designer in the tech industry has been my main career
aspiration since I first started my co op program. Having previously completed my second co op
term as a web and graphic designer for a biotech company GenomeMe, I was eager to challenge
myself and get a taste of what it is like to work as a UX designer in a tech company. When I was
looking for internships near the end of the semester, I came across the posting from a startup
software company named BuzzIt Inc. and they were looking for a UX designer to join their team.

Since startup companies tend to have smaller teams, everyone in a startup is expected to wear
multiple hats where each individual are given more responsibilities. I was forced to step out of
my comfort zone to adopt new skills and be involved in the end to end process of designing
digital products. For example, when I was working on redesigning the company website, my
product manager gave me the responsibility to lead the project from the earliest discovery
meetings with the team, through UX and wireframing process, to branding, UI design and
development of the website. It was challenging and tiresome, but I am sure I accomplished more
projects and took on more responsibility faster than if I were in an entry level job at a larger
company. Flexible Work Culture When I came to the Venture Connection office on the first day,
I was expecting to work in a regular 9 5 schedule everyday there. However, I was surprised to hear
that my supervisor gave me the freedom to choose where I could work and flexibly adjust my
work hours as I see fit. This means I could work from home and start working at anytime as long
as I completed 40 hours of work per week. This startup culture really suits my personality well as I

Happiness By Raymond Carver Essay
Simple Joys
The acquisition of happiness evades most who search for constant joy and pleasure. One reason the
pursuit of happiness evokes such hardships likes within the innate spontaneous nature of happiness.
The poem Happiness by Raymond Carver captures one man s glimpse of happiness during an early
morning watching two paper boys pass through the neighborhood. Carver illustrates the brief and
unexpected nature of happiness through his poem s imagery of youth, fractured structured, and
simple word choice. The imagery in the poem depicts a young and early morning, which mirrors
the sudden onset of happiness for the narrator. The narrator describes the scene as so early it s still
almost dark out (1), and later mentions, the sky is taking on light/ through the moon still hangs
/ pale over the water (19 21) after his joy of seeing two young paperboys walking together. This
sudden appearance of light in the darkness reflects how the narrator s original unhappy and boring

are calm, and undisturbed by any other feeling. This simpleness also get reflected by a very
simple and child like diction: they are so happy/they aren t saying anything/I think if they could

describe the boys and using no complex or scholarly language. The diction reflects the pure and
uncomplicated emotion of happiness from this experience, which makes the reader understand the

Ponce De Leon Biography
Juan Ponce De Leon was a Spanish explorer. In addition to being an explorer, he was also a
soldier, governor, and farmer. Ponce De Leon s exact date of birth is not known. Many believe
he was born around 1460 to 1474 in Santervas De Campos, Spain. He died in July, 1521, in
Havana, Cuba. He died after he was shot by a poisoned arrow from the Indians who were trying
to protect their land. Like most explorers, Ponce De Leon explored for the fame and fortune. He
needed a job because he worked as a squire for a knight until the war ended. After the war ended
around 1492, there was not a job for him so he had to find something else to do. Ponce De Leon
also became an explorer because he wasn t the oldest child in his family. This meant he wouldn t
inherit wealth or land when his parents died. Ponce De Leon had to go out and find a way to
earn a living. Ponce De Leon was one of about 1200 men who went with Christopher Columbus
on his second voyage to Hispaniola in 1493. Columbus had left on his first voyage to search for
a new trade route to Asia and ended up discovering new land. Trading for jewels, spices and silks
was very important to Spain and a new trade route was needed. When Columbus returned to
Spain, he told everyone about the new world he had discovered. Columbus planned a second
voyage to the new land and had a lot of people interested in going with him to search for riches.
Ponce De Leon was one of them. They had seventeen ships on the second voyage. King Ferdinand

These constructs greatly enhance the native capabilities of the DBMS. The procedural languages
also support the ability to embed and use the results of SQL queries. The combination of the
programming constructs provided by the procedural language, and the data retrieval and
manipulation capabilities provided by the SQL engine, is powerful and useful. Database texts and
DBMS documentation commonly refers to the fusion of the procedural language and the
declarative SQL language as a whole within the DBMS.
Oracle s implementation is named Procedural Language/Structured Query Language, and is more
commonly referred to as PL/SQL, while SQL Server s implementation is named Transact‐SQL,
and is more commonly referred to as T‐SQL. SQL predates the procedural constructs in both
DBMS, and therefore documentation for both DBMS refer to the procedural language as an
extension to the SQL language. This idea can become confusing because database texts and
documentation also refer to the entire unit, for example PL/SQL and T‐SQL, as a
vendor‐specific extension to the SQL language. It is important for us to avoid this confusion by
recognizing that there are two distinct languages within a relational DBMS declarative and
procedural and that both are treated very differently within a DBMS in concept and in
implementation. In concept, we use the SQL

As a person who was not born and raised in the United States, I though these kinds of problem
only existed in my country, especially in the Asian region. The article opens my eyes on how
subtle racial discrimination has given demonetized the minorities both in the academic s
environment and socially. Parts of the article on the story of dancing like black girl and vice
versa have touched me in the idea of why a dance form would is made specially for a group of
people. Living in a multiracial country have made me exposed to various of cultural dance that
made me curious and hungry to learn the foreign moves which is different to me. For example,
Bharata natyam is one of the forms that made me euphoric in learning it. Since I am a male and
non Indian, my experience learning it was dull as the instructor was mainly focused on Indian
girl s dancers. The sense of being a minority to another minority made me felt how insignificant I
was even with my sincere presence to learn. I understand the idea of conservatism is preserving

greater than another just ticks me off. My main dance is Zapin, a traditional Malay folk dance, and
is not greater nor lesser than any other art form. Every dance has its unique way in showing it to

##bolism In Michelangelo Buonarrotis Fresco Of The Libyan...
Q9 2: What is the message? For Jan de Heem means at least in part a celebration, an invitation to
share, at least visually and thus imaginatively, in its world. The feast on the table was a feast for
the eyes. How is it portrayed symbolically in the piece and the vocabulary term used for this kind
of painting. This painting is an example of Vanitas. The vanitas tradition of still lifepainting is
specifically designed to induce in the spectator a higher order of thought. This is a reminding the
viewer of the frivolous quality or vanity of human existence. It s a still life painting with the
enjoyment of the pleasurable things in life. The overturned goblet, the half peeled lemon, the oyster
on the half shell, the timepiece beside it , all remind the viewer that the material is celebrated in the
painting in long lasting as the spiritual and may be greater importance than material wealth. The
artwork is of a huge meal, most that has been left uneaten. Southern fruit in a cold climate is of
luxury and the peeled lemon is untouched. Was a sign of unwanted consumption in the artwork.

As indicated by Kizza (2013), the fast development of systems administration has prompted
expanded security dangers. A large portion of these dangers are an aftereffect of hacking, uncalled

The system security occurrences are expanding at an exasperating rate each year. As the

during the war, specifically during the time of the infamous Dresden bombing. The main character,
Billy Pilgrim, is an American soldier who lived to tell, and was present during, the bombing. It is
through Billy Pilgrim s personal story that Vonnegut thoroughly reveals the harshness of war and its

He makes the harsh idea that death really is, sound like it s inevitable, and so there is no reason
to mourn. Just like death, war is also harsh. The tone most people have when speaking about
war, is the same tone Billy has regarding deaths. They disregard so many important things that
come with war, the millions of dollars spent, the tragic amount of deaths and most deaths being
civilians who are completely innocent. They speak like if war were inevitable and there was
nothing anyone could do about it. In the novel, Vonnegut gives an example, What he meant, of
course, was that there would always be wars, that they were as easy to stop as glaciers.
(Vonnegut 3). Although this is true, it does not take away from the harsh reality that war really
is. What is very ironic is the fact that Billy Pilgrim s harsh mentality about deaths is so easily
noticed, yet people have not yet noticed the harshness that war really is, and in reality; war and
death go hand in hand. Vonnegut uses so it goes in a way to almost mimic the majority of the
population who are so oblivious to what war really is. The entire point of the book is to bring
attention to how harsh war genuinely is, and that is why the words are so constantly being
repeated, so that people make the connection that war brings death, and since death is harsh, so is
war. Today video games about war make millions

Why Women Still Can T Have It All Summary
In life we are told to have it all by raising a perfect family, getting a beautiful house, and having a
high paying job; but is it possible to have it all? How many people can honestly have it all, when
so many are just trying to survive? In the articles, Why Women Still Can t Have It All and Why
Men Still Can t Have It All, Anne Marie Slaughter and Richard Dorment, go through how women
function in the workplace and how there are different expectant outcomes for each. The primary
objective of Slaughter s passage was to show how women are treated poorly and how they are held
to a different standard than their male counterparts. Dorment focuses mostly on how neither women
nor men should strive to have it all because nobody can. They... Show more content on

Though I am a woman, I do not deny that men have come far in helping with at home life and the
majority attempt to do as much as they can to help their wives. But I am not saying we should
reward men for doing this; it should be the assumption to help out; I am just concluding the
evidence that they do twice as much as they used to. I can agree that women have come up in
academics because in many schools the girls are usually more academically successful than the
boys are. I feel as though Slaughter complains about how men are not pulling their weight at
home, is contradictory to when her husband took care of their son and home by himself while
she was working hours away. I do endorse the idea Slaughter brought across that nobody can
have it all because of the economy and society. On the contrary, I do not believe anyone could
ever truly have it all in at any time, even if the economy and society were more developed
because nothing is ever going to work correctly. I found it troubling that Slaughter s aimed
audience was limited only to the higher class working woman and she admits it when she states, I
am well aware that the majority of American women face problems far greater than any discussed
in this article. I am writing for my demographic highly educated, well off women who are
privileged enough to have choices in the first place. It seems

The Importance Of Typology In Christianity
Christianity has been from the beginning a typological religion. Typology in Christian theology
and Biblical exegesis is a doctrine or theory concerning the relationship between the Old and New
Testaments . (Merriam Webster 868) Perhaps the single most important concept for understanding
early Christianity is typology. Typology is a form of study of literature identifying symbols
especially in the Bible. This system of groupings, usually called types, the members of which are
identified by postulating specified attributes that are mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive
groupings set up to aid demonstration or inquiry by establishing a limited relationship among
phenomena. Typology is interpreted throughout text in American literature such as William
Bradford s Plymouth Plantation, Jonathan Edward s Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and
Thomas PaineCommon Sense. During the Enlightenment, the meaning of Protestant identity
became increasingly vague; typology took on the hazy significance of image and symbol; what
passed for the divine plan had lost its strict grounding sculpture; providence itself was shaken loose
from its religious frame work to became part of the belief in the human progress. The eighteenth
century clergy took advantage of this movement to shift the focus of figural authority, from Bible
history to the American experience. In effect, they substituted a regional for a biblical past,
sanctified the American present as a movement from promise to

The Physics of Riding Bulls Essay
The Physics of Riding Bulls
Rodeo is a sport that came about by everyday work being made into competition.
Every event in rodeo has a practical purpose; all but one that is. There is no practical reason to get
on a bull; only the thrills, chills, and rush of excitement. ItВЎВ¦s more than a challenge between
riders. ItВЎВ¦s a challenge between man and beast. Legendary cowboy Larry Mahan had an even
different way of looking at it. He said, ВЎВ§ItВЎВ¦s not a challenge with the animal but with the
weakness in oneВЎВ¦s selfВЎВЁ. At any rate, itВЎВ¦s all about the challenge.
The challenge is simple; stay on the bullВЎВ¦s back for eight seconds while keeping one hand fee
from contact with the bull or your own body. Well it sounds simple anyways.... Show more content

This exerts a force in the opposite direction the bull is going. The force is the product of the
bullВЎВ¦s mass and its acceleration. With a rider on the bullВЎВ¦s back this force then becomes a
combination of the bullВЎВ¦s mass plus the riderВЎВ¦s mass times the acceleration of both which
is attributed only by the bull. All the rider needs to do in this case is hold on tight. There may be
some air resistance, but it is too small to notice. The bull further complicates the ride by bucking
(a combination of raring, kicking, and jumping). Each component of the buck is relatively simple.
When a bull rares, it creates a force pushing the rider backwards. When a bull kicks, it creates a
force throwing the rider forwards. When the bull jumps, it creates a force pushing the rider straight
upwards. Each force is once again the product of how fast the bull changes positions (acceleration)
and itВЎВ¦s mass. In each of these situations the bullВЎВ¦s mass is combined with the riderВЎВ¦s.
So, if the combined mass remains the same, all the rider has to do to counter the force created by
the bull is move in the opposite direction as the bull with and equal acceleration. Acceleration
equals the change in velocity divided by the change in time. The velocity is the change in position
divided by the change in time. Both the bull and the rider can accelerate instantaneously. Therefore
the velocity is the only variable the rider needs to adjust to the counter the bullВЎВ¦s force. If the

The flag is a symbol of the United States, and what happens to the flag does not directly affect the
United States, therefore it should not be outlawed. The supporters who want to outlaw the act of
publicly burning a flag feel that it is demeaning to the United States. Although this may be true and
many Americans feel this way, our country was built on the understanding and ability of every
person to protest the actions of the government. Rep. Randy Cunningham, a supporter for the ban
of flag burning, said on the House floor To watch somebody burn the American flag represents a
destruction of [the United State s] values, of [the United State s] ideas and of [the United State s]

the mere destruction or disfigurement of a particular physical manifestation of the symbol, without

Essay on Iago; The Representation of Villainy in Othello
A villain is defined as an evil character in a novel, movie, play, or other story, especially one who
is the main enemy of the hero according to Encarta Dictionary. In Othello, Iago fits this definition
perfectly though Othello does not recognize that Iago is his enemy until the end of the story. Iagois
the evil minded, backstabbing character in this dramatic story. He demonstrates this villainy act all
through out the story beginning with being angry with Othellofor not appointing him as lieutenant,
his revenge on cassio for taking his place as lieutenant, and setting up Desdemonato look like she is
cheating on Othello. His machinations are so effective because they flow consistently. From the

Cassio is least fortunate than Othello. Cassio has been a target since the beginning of the story
also not because of anger, but because of revenge. Poor Cassio does not have a clue about any of
the misleading telltales that Iago has influenced Othello to believe. After Iago gains Othello s
trust, he devices a plan to plant Othello s handkerchief on Cassio s bed, setting Desdemona and
Cassio up so when Othello asks Cassio for his handkerchief, Cassio would show it to Othello
thus proving that Desdemona and Cassio were having an affair. Before all this, Emilia, Iago s
wife, finds the handkerchief from Desdemona s bedroom and gives it to Iago later that night,
allowing the plan to work out which she has no idea about. Othello by now is already distrusting
Desdemona as well as looking down on her. By Act 3, Scene 3, Othello has every right to believe
Iago because his trust is on him and his words are factual. Desdemona cannot influence Othello to
believe in her. All the signs prove that she is a liar.
Desdemona is the least most fortunate innocent character in this story. Throughout the whole story,
she has been the one that has been faithful. Iago s intention is to help Rodrigo attain Desdemona,
but also at the same time ruin Othello. Othello believes that Desdemona and Cassio are having an
affair because they talk among one another in secret in regards to reappointing Cassio as lieutenant

This paper will introduce the development of Soviet internationalism alongside the development of
Soviet interests in Eastern Europe. It will be argued that the Soviet interests which developed out of

influenced the development of Soviet policy toward Eastern Europe and Soviet internationalism and
the Cold war meant that the Soviet presence in Eastern Europe would persist until Gorbachev. The

Stalin s aims in Eastern Europe epitomise Soviet aims because of the fact that his policies set the

Parkinson s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor symptoms or tremors,
rigidity, (bradykinesia) or slowness of movement and posture instability. Parkinson s involves the
malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain. This disease primarily affects neurons in
area of the brain called substantia nigra. Some of these dying neurons produce dopamine a chemical
that sends messages to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination. The
symptoms of Parkinson s disease usually begin on one side of the body and within time spread
to both sides of the body. The primary process that causes Parkinson s disease signs and
symptoms is when dopamine producing nerve cells in the brain die prematurely. Dopamine is one
of the main neurotransmitters in the brain. In a healthy brain, ample dopamine is produced so that
the brain cells can coordinate smooth and precise muscle movements. However, when dopamine
cells are lost, brain cells communicate abnormally with muscles, which can lead to impaired body
movement. (Null, 2013, pp. 153 176) When Parkinson s disease progresses there is a gradual loss
of many functions that depend on muscle control such as the ability to write legibly, or speak

Sean Lowe and the People of New York v. Keesshawn Nesbitt. In People v. Lowe, the court
decided on January 13, 2015, that Lowe was guilty of endangering the welfare of a child under
Penal Law В§ 260.10(1). On June 28, 2014, after a firefighter could not immediately revive the
defendant on a public street while his two children in his care, one of the children being

it was finally established from an EMT technician called to the scene that Lowe was highly

firefighter smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the defendant;
however, when they reported it the firefighter only mentioned that the defendant seemed under
the influence of a controlled substance. For this reason, Lowe tried to fight the case by using
that as a Misdemeanor Complaint but it failed to be converted into one, because the information
of the eyewitnesses, using either terminology, was facially sufficient. Next in order, in People v.

has gained influence in politics and sociology over the past thirty years. This choice theory

This branch of theory is a starting point in the deterrence continuum and often targets the crime in
general, not the offender. One may ask how a rule deters a crime instead of a person. I believe that
general deterrence does so by issuing blanket knowledge that if one commits a crime then there will
be punishment. General deterrence is the going about of issuing a law and making it known that it
is not permitted, and that there will be consequences should one commit such an act. Early
researcher used historic curiosity that was not based on scientific realities to come to the conclusion
that criminal traits are inherited genetically. Their assumptions was premised on record of family
history that was devoid of looking at other factors that may have consistently been affecting
previous and subsequent generations such as environment and diet etc. The quest to identify factors
affecting individual social behavior led sociobiologists to come to the conclusion that biology,
learning and environmental factors are all interrelated in forming an individual character trait. The
idea that an individual will turn to crime while another will not under the same circumstance even
though they posses same physical nature or make up, raises the question and discredits the earlier
assumption on the subject. Scientific research on the subject took into consideration different
provable factors that create a direct correlation between individual social behavior and other

The Constitution Of The United States
In 1787, our founding fathers came up with a few principles that would establish what we now
know as the United States of America. These principles were put on paper to serve as a guideline
for how the United States would be operated and structured. This historical piece paper became
known as the Constitution of the United States. In the Constitution, a Preamble is implemented at
the beginning that essentially tells what the founding fathers set out to do.
We The People, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility,
provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty ...
(Preamble, U.S. Constitution)
The Preamble that was applied within the Constitution became the platform that led to different
limitations each state would have. The limitations were quoted by articles, amendments, and
sections to provide a professional and limited governmental scheme on what was expected from
each state. As the Constitution was ratified in 1788, a set of guidelines known as the Bill of
Rights was implemented as well. The difference is that the Constitution provided structure as to
how the whole set up of our system of government would be ran. So essentially, the Constitution
states the appropriate amount of houses needed to make up Congress, what powers Congress will
have, and what powers the President will have. The Bill of Rights served as rules towards what the
federal government was limited to do.

Social And Psychological Factors Influence Economic...
Behavioural economics, as it is possible to understand from the definition of the field itself, studies
how social and psychological factors influence economic decisions. The main difference with the
classical economic approach is that, while economists use a normative approach in describing
extit{how decisions should be made} to optimise a reward function, by assuming that subjects are
rational decision makers citep{von2007theory}, behavioural economics describes extit{how
decisions are actually made} by using experiments that emulate real life decision problems
citep{kahneman2000choices, todd2003bounding}. This field of research has lead to the
development of heuristics that subjects use in different choice context
citep{holyoak2005cambridge}. However, these explanations only postulate disparate heuristics
for different choice settings and cannot describe the time course of a decision. In an attempt to
overcome such limitations, recently, sequential sampling models of choice widely studied in the
perceptual decision making field, have been used to explain the time course of preference
formation in value based choice in which the subject is no more integrating evidence over time,
but value instead, as for example in making a decision between different sources of food. An
example of a value based decision making choice is: shall I have an apple or a pear? From a
phenomenological approach this might seem a trivial question, however investigating how such a
decision is

Forrest Thomson Poetic Artifice Analysis
Two Co Option Co option is I argue most clearly defined by Veronica Forrest Thomson s Poetic
Artifice. A text, that pushed back against critics of the previous generation and endeavoured early
on to integrate structuralist thought with post structuralist. This integration between structuralism
and post structuralism can be seen as an attempt to get at the importance of poetry. In an attempt
to stress and illuminate poetry s unique ability to be transformative of both language and the
world. Forrest Thomson in Poetic Artifice demands an intense focus on all the rhythmic,
phonetic, verbal and logical devices which makes poetry different from prose to best consider
this transformative nature. It is in this distinguishing of poetry from prose, and the highly
formalist manner and structuralist distrust of language s transparency in which she follows that
one can also see a similar differencing between the broader spectrum of literature with the
sciences. There is no need in Forrest Thomson s work for differing areas to be inclusive of one
another, to the point of loss of individuality, because of a homogenizing of methodology and
epistemic reasoning. Throughout both Poetic Artifice and her thesis Poetry as Knowledge: The
Use of Science by Twentieth Century Poets, Forest Thomson can be seen to put forward a new
structure, in which separation is crucial for any kind of interrelation between the two fields of
knowledge. She follows a similar stance as that of Kelly

tendencies on them. It is no wonder, that this killing mania in violent games was seen to seep out
into the actual world when a high school junior opened fire in his school cafetaria in Littleton,
Colorado, killing two of his classmates. The gunman was reported to be an ardent fan of Quake

The Importance Of Collective Punishment
Look into a classroom and one would see that collective punishment has long been used to elicit
good behavior from students, but it is time for a closer look. Using tactics of peer pressure to try to
enforce rules on surrounding students does not tend to work. Teachers who use collective
punishment usually find more resentment from their students rather than the good behavior they
are looking for, which begs the question, why do we still think of collective punishmentas an
effective way to make people conform? Using collective punishment goes against equality between
students, and the equity of the classroom. Schools should not enforce collective punishment as a
technique to correct behavior, since it can be harmful to innocent students, is ineffective at
correcting behavior long term, and can help instruct students to manipulate others with peer
pressure.
In classrooms around the world, students are being held back from leaving class, eating lunch, or
going to recess due to one reason; collective punishment. Collective punishment can be detrimental
to students, and can even be overwhelming to children who did nothing wrong, I started noticing
just how devastating group punishments can be to the type of child who wants to please and is
determined to follow the rules , (Watson) as the students don t understand why they are being
punished because they didn t do anything wrong. It can cause resentment in students who did
nothing wrong to suddenly be punished for their peers

The Fosters Is A T.v
The Fosters is a T.V. show on ABC Family that brings up the topics of parenthood, divorce,
stepfamilies, and sexuality. The Fosters isn t your normal family T.V. show. It s about a lesbian
couple name Lena and Stef, that are raising five teenage children. One of the kids is Stef s real
son Brandon, and Jesus Mariana, Jude are adopted by Stef and Lena, and Callie is a foster child
living with them. Throughout the show we see the familygo through everyday struggles of a real
family, but at the end of the day everyone is there for each other. Parents are suppose to supply
their children with love, support, and teach them skills so they could grow to become their own
person. The Fosters does an excellent job showing what parenthood looks like, but they did it
with a lesbian couple raising their children. The Fosters shows the mothers doing the same
parenting task as heterosexual parents. They discipline their children when they need to, they
helped their children with schoolwork, and they always show their kids the love that they have
for them. Lena and Stef go through the same parenting struggles as heterosexual parents do when
it comes dealing with their teenage children. Since society is still new to same sex parenting,
some individuals think that the children are not going to be as normal as children raised in a
heterosexual household. However, research shows that children that are raised by a homosexual
couple do not differ when it comes to being raised by a

Competitive Intelligence Essay
Ethics in the Competitive Intelligence Industry
Competitive Intelligence (CI) can be defined as coordinated research of an organization s
competition within a specific industry. CI assesses those who compete for market share and
attempts to guess the actions of competitors before those actions are introduced in the marketplace.
The vision of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) is, Better decisions
through competitive intelligence (Vision amp; Mission, n.d. para. 1). SCIP s mission, in part is to,
be the global organization of choice for professionals engaged in competitive intelligence and
related disciplines (Vision amp; Mission, n.d. para. 2).
Competitive intelligence, as provided by companies like SCIP,... Show more content on

Hastings ignored the warning, believing that chief executives should generally discount what
their friends say (para. 2). Apparently in this case, Mr. Hastings friend was a good gauge of the
typical consumer who liked his Netflix service the way it was originally set up. If Mr. Hastings
had hired a company such as SCIP to gauge how such a reaction would impact the industry as a
whole, he probably would have made a different decision that would not have resulted in a 30%
drop in the company s stock. In fact, he may have been informed that a move by a similar
company would drive a large portion of its customers to Netflix, but because he didn t do his
homework properly, Netflix became the loser.
Competitive intelligence analysis is a subjective business. Companies that are in the CI business
must compile their data and corresponding recommendations in an ethical manner because the CI
business can be competitive too. If CI companies were to act in an unethical manner, they would
clearly be driven out of the marketplace by companies acting honestly. Additionally, CI
companies should be compelled to act ethically as the companies they research could be forced
into bankruptcy or subject to criminal discipline if CI research were misconstrued to show their
subjects in a false, negative light. I believe SCIP runs an ethical business as evidenced by its code
of ethics. Two of its goals are, To continually strive to increase the recognition

How Did Lamarck Contribute To The Scientific Field
Who is Jean Baptiste Lamarck? What did he contribute to his scientific field? Why was his
research important? These are questions easy enough to answer, but the harder question is, how has
his findings influenced us today? And this is an essential question in understanding why Jean
Baptiste Lamarck is just a small piece to a much larger puzzle that shows has science itself has
evolved over time.
John Baptiste Lamarck was born in Bazentin le Pertit, in Northern France, in 1744. He was born
into a military family, and while attending the Jesuit seminary at Amiens, his father died and he
decided to join the French campaign in Germany in the summer of 1761. He remained in the
military, until 5 years after the end of his German campaign, until ... Show more content on

Lamarck realized that although the Museum s collection was thoroughly enormous, it was also
thoroughly in chaos; there was very poor organization at the time. Lamarck s research was, at the
time, considered the least prestigious of the fields of biology to study, but what not one of his
colleagues would realize is that through his studies, he himself had created a new field of biology.
After studying, classifying, and lecturing on everything from worms to spiders, and everything in
between, for around ten years, Lamarck published two books, one of zoology, and the other on
paleontology. His most famous one was the Philosophie zooloique , published in 1809, and very
much portraying Lamarck s ideas on evolution.
Through his research, Lamarck observed many similarities in the different types of animals he
studied, these fascinated him and allowed him to draw his own scientific conclusions. First, he
believed life was not a fixed system and that When environments changed, organisms had to change
their behavior to survive. In short, he believed the body would understand how to adapt to different
environments over generations. He believed these adaptions were a process that the body was
trying to form to eventually make the perfect generation of

Theme Of Luck In Young Goodman Brown
These said lines described the Puritan theme of luck as Paul asked his mother, what luck is and
mother replied she did not know God knows better and she further described that she got married
with unlucky husband. His mother did not give proper reply about luck and that confused and
frustrated him very much and this very phenomenon of luckmade him compelled to know the
reality of luck. He became restless to ascertain luck; he went to ride his rocking horse and while
riding this wooden horse, his state of mind was entirely changed. He got down from the riding
of rocking horse and he stood in front of the horse and commanded him now take me to where
there is luck (p 737). The horse was a spiritual and supernatural symbol for him. Paul dwelled a
supernatural elements while riding horse as he was seeking the meaning of luck. Luck had deep
effect upon him as he came to know that due to bad luck his mother and family suffered a lot. Paul

  • 2. The Book Of Mormon Analysis There is a power that lies in each of us, a flame that burns so bright. Yet, it is only unlocked as we search, ponder and pray. But about what you may ask. The answer may come as a surprise to some, or may hit home for others. We each must Search, Ponder and Pray about The Book of Mormon , about The Prophet Joseph Smith, about the truthfulness of the Church of JesusChrist of Latter Day Saints. As we come to gain a testimony we can fuel that fire that burns with in our hearts. We can increase our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive that comfort and direction, that we all are so desperate for. We can come to know for a surety that these things are true and really will bless our lives. This week I was reminded of this simple truth. As my companion and I walked a long the road, going from house to house. I couldn t help bu think, that there is someone special I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn t care for the typical Hello, we are Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints , would you like to hear a message. Honestly that s a good way to get a door slammed in your face. People are realistic, and think just like anyone else. They want to know only what s good for them or what can help them. Sometimes it can be seen as a selfish attitude. So borrowing a idea from Theodore Roosevelt and applying this phrase, People don t care how much you know until they know how much you care . I sought to get to know this man, and I really was genuine about it. People don t like flattery, it s cheap and it never works. In an honest person to person conversation I did just that. Jacob, told me about his life, about his job, about his family and about what he was even doing on the car that he stopped working on to talk to me. I felt the love of God for this man, I truly did. As he talked and I listen intently. It was almost perfect, almost the hand of the Lord shown forth as the gospel came up in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Valencia Road Essay Valencia Road reveals society s humanity. Kindness and understanding have become scarce, if not disappeared completely in today s society. We re so wrapped up in our own lives we forget about those around us. No longer does a neighbor knock on your door asking for a cup of milk or sugar for tonight s dinner. Instead you re probably too busy arguing over property lines to remember their last name. These relationships are explored in ELO Films new short film Valencia Road. The 7 minute short directed and written by Logan George and Celine Held captures the interactions and decisions of strangers in a desperate situation. What we stand to learn is how sometimes even the most tragic events cannot bring us together. The film beings as our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The thoughts we know our characters are having and yet can t seem to say out loud. For instance this first happens when Catherine called the police. She calls and reports she has seen a car accident, but as the operator is asking her questions, instead of dealing with the issue at hand she is more concerned with how long this will take? Even with the possibility of someone being dead inside that car, her biggest concern is time? This is emphasized as a car barrels down the road next to her not even bothering to stop. What our filmmakers are trying to do is appeal to our humanity. They want us to feel the connection to the world and to the woman in the car, only to shut us down like so many of us have shut the world out. This aspect of the film is what makes it so incredibly upsetting yet enlightening. • 4. High Rates Of Adverse Neonatal Outcomes Abstract Background: High rates of adverse neonatal outcomes have been reported among women with HIV. In high income countries, small for gestational age (SGA) and pre term birth (PTB) are among the most prevalent of these outcomes and have been variously associated with antiretroviral treatment, ethnicity/race, psychosocial risk and lack of prenatal care. While evidence demonstrates that both medical and social factors contribute to LBW and PTD, risk factors for HIV positive women in Ottawa, Canada, have not been well described. Objective: To estimate the proportion and risk factors of SGA and PTB outcomes and characterize temporal trends among HIV positive women giving birth at an urban hospital in Ottawa, Canada. Methods: This retrospective cohort study reviewed all cases of pregnant women with HIV receiving prenatal care and/or giving birth at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) between June 1990 and July 2010. Data were collected on socio demographics, medical history, and adverse obstetric outcomes. Univariable logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with small for gestational age (90% health insurance coverage in our cohort, which provides for HIV and obstetrical care, and prenatal programs in Ottawa. • 8. The Structure Of The Skeletal Muscle Essay In mammals, there are an abundant amount of varying systems and components that all work together in order for the body to function properly and sustain life; one of those components that have a great portion of responsibility is the skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscle is responsible for a great portion of movements of the body, such as transportation, obtaining food, and fight or flight responses. Muscles are composed myofibrils, which when grouped together forms musclefibers and when those are grouped together they form muscles fascicles; multiple muscle fascicles are formed together to form skeletal muscles. All skeletal muscles are motor neuron dependent and composed of muscle fibers that are innervated by a motor axon and together form what is known as the motor unit. The muscle fibers all work together to form a muscle contraction, which is initiated by a neuronal action potential. The action potential can be activated one of two ways, it can be either voluntary by the person or it can be in voluntary, which would include electrical stimulation to the peripheral nerve. After the action potential is initiated, a neurotransmitter is released in the neuromuscular junction, which results in the depolarization of the muscle or a contraction (Schiaffino, Blaauw, Dyar, 2016). There are several different ways to measure the overall activity of skeletal muscles; one way deals with the electrical activity. During a contraction of skeletal muscles a significant amount of ... Typology in Christian theology and Biblical exegesis is a doctrine or theory concerning the relationship between the Old and New Testaments . (Merriam Webster 868) Perhaps the single most important concept for understanding early Christianity is typology. Typology is a form of study of literature identifying symbols especially in the Bible. This system of groupings, usually called types, the members of which are identified by postulating specified attributes that are mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive groupings set up to aid demonstration or inquiry by establishing a limited relationship among phenomena. Typology is interpreted throughout text in American literature such as William Bradford s Plymouth Plantation, Jonathan Edward s Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and Thomas PaineCommon Sense. During the Enlightenment, the meaning of Protestant identity became increasingly vague; typology took on the hazy significance of image and symbol; what passed for the divine plan had lost its strict grounding sculpture; providence itself was shaken loose from its religious frame work to became part of the belief in the human progress. All the rider needs to do in this case is hold on tight. There may be some air resistance, but it is too small to notice. The bull further complicates the ride by bucking (a combination of raring, kicking, and jumping). Each component of the buck is relatively simple. When a bull rares, it creates a force pushing the rider backwards. When a bull kicks, it creates a force throwing the rider forwards. When the bull jumps, it creates a force pushing the rider straight upwards. Each force is once again the product of how fast the bull changes positions (acceleration) and itВЎВ¦s mass. In each of these situations the bullВЎВ¦s mass is combined with the riderВЎВ¦s. So, if the combined mass remains the same, all the rider has to do to counter the force created by the bull is move in the opposite direction as the bull with and equal acceleration. Acceleration equals the change in velocity divided by the change in time. The velocity is the change in position divided by the change in time. Both the bull and the rider can accelerate instantaneously. Therefore the velocity is the only variable the rider needs to adjust to the counter the bullВЎВ¦s force. If the distance change ... The act of publicly burning an American flagis something that is deemed disgraceful by many Americans, but it should not be outlawed. The supporters who want to outlaw the act of publicly burning a flag feel that it is demeaning to the United States. Although this may be true and many Americans feel this way, our country was built on the understanding and ability of every person to protest the actions of the government. Rep. Randy Cunningham, a supporter for the ban of flag burning, said on the House floor To watch somebody burn the American flag represents a destruction of [the United State s] values, of [the United State s] ideas and of [the United State s] thoughts. (Cong. Rec. July 2000.) Although this claim is a very good one, I believe the better truth was stated during a U.S. Supreme Court Case. In the case United States v. This statement shows one of the underlining problems with the people who argue that flag burning should be outlawed. The flag is a symbol of this country, and in no way does burning the flag actually affect this country. Even the veterans of our wars feel that outlawing flag burning is something that should never be done. MSGT. (R) Marvin Virgil Stenhammar said, Any country that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on Iago; The Representation of Villainy in Othello A villain is defined as an evil character in a novel, movie, play, or other story, especially one who is the main enemy of the hero according to Encarta Dictionary. In Othello, Iago fits this definition perfectly though Othello does not recognize that Iago is his enemy until the end of the story. Iagois the evil minded, backstabbing character in this dramatic story. He demonstrates this villainy act all through out the story beginning with being angry with Othellofor not appointing him as lieutenant, his revenge on cassio for taking his place as lieutenant, and setting up Desdemonato look like she is cheating on Othello. After Iago gains Othello s trust, he devices a plan to plant Othello s handkerchief on Cassio s bed, setting Desdemona and Cassio up so when Othello asks Cassio for his handkerchief, Cassio would show it to Othello thus proving that Desdemona and Cassio were having an affair. Before all this, Emilia, Iago s wife, finds the handkerchief from Desdemona s bedroom and gives it to Iago later that night, allowing the plan to work out which she has no idea about. Othello by now is already distrusting Desdemona as well as looking down on her. By Act 3, Scene 3, Othello has every right to believe Iago because his trust is on him and his words are factual. Desdemona cannot influence Othello to believe in her. All the signs prove that she is a liar. Desdemona is the least most fortunate innocent character in this story. Throughout the whole story, she has been the one that has been faithful. Iago s intention is to help Rodrigo attain Desdemona, but also at the same time ruin Othello. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Parkinson s Disease Essay Parkinson Disease by Melissa Green Topical Bibliography In partial fulfillment of the writing requirement for Anatomy and Physiology 304 and the Department of Speech Language Pathology SUNY Buffalo State Fall 2016 Parkinson s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor symptoms or tremors, rigidity, (bradykinesia) or slowness of movement and posture instability. Parkinson s involves the malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain. This disease primarily affects neurons in area of the brain called substantia nigra. Some of these dying neurons produce dopamine a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination. The symptoms of Parkinson s disease usually begin on one side of the body and within time spread to both sides of the body. The primary process that causes Parkinson s disease signs and symptoms is when dopamine producing nerve cells in the brain die prematurely. Dopamine is one of the main neurotransmitters in the brain. In a healthy brain, ample dopamine is produced so that the brain cells can coordinate smooth and precise muscle movements. However, when dopamine cells are lost, brain cells communicate abnormally with muscles, which can lead to impaired body movement. It has gained influence in politics and sociology over the past thirty years. This choice theory stressed the role of knowledgeable self interest in the decision making of individuals. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This branch of theory is a starting point in the deterrence continuum and often targets the crime in general, not the offender. One may ask how a rule deters a crime instead of a person. I believe that general deterrence does so by issuing blanket knowledge that if one commits a crime then there will be punishment. General deterrence is the going about of issuing a law and making it known that it is not permitted, and that there will be consequences should one commit such an act. Early researcher used historic curiosity that was not based on scientific realities to come to the conclusion that criminal traits are inherited genetically. Their assumptions was premised on record of family history that was devoid of looking at other factors that may have consistently been affecting previous and subsequent generations such as environment and diet etc. The quest to identify factors affecting individual social behavior led sociobiologists to come to the conclusion that biology, learning and environmental factors are all interrelated in forming an individual character trait. The idea that an individual will turn to crime while another will not under the same circumstance even though they posses same physical nature or make up, raises the question and discredits the earlier assumption on the subject. The difference is that the Constitution provided structure as to how the whole set up of our system of government would be ran. Behavioural economics, as it is possible to understand from the definition of the field itself, studies how social and psychological factors influence economic decisions. The main difference with the classical economic approach is that, while economists use a normative approach in describing extit{how decisions should be made} to optimise a reward function, by assuming that subjects are rational decision makers citep{von2007theory}, behavioural economics describes extit{how decisions are actually made} by using experiments that emulate real life decision problems citep{kahneman2000choices, todd2003bounding}. This field of research has lead to the development of heuristics that subjects use in different choice context citep{holyoak2005cambridge}. However, these explanations only postulate disparate heuristics for different choice settings and cannot describe the time course of a decision. In an attempt to overcome such limitations, recently, sequential sampling models of choice widely studied in the perceptual decision making field, have been used to explain the time course of preference formation in value based choice in which the subject is no more integrating evidence over time, but value instead, as for example in making a decision between different sources of food. An example of a value based decision making choice is: shall I have an apple or a pear? A text, that pushed back against critics of the previous generation and endeavoured early on to integrate structuralist thought with post structuralist. This integration between structuralism and post structuralism can be seen as an attempt to get at the importance of poetry. In an attempt to stress and illuminate poetry s unique ability to be transformative of both language and the world. Forrest Thomson in Poetic Artifice demands an intense focus on all the rhythmic, phonetic, verbal and logical devices which makes poetry different from prose to best consider this transformative nature. It is in this distinguishing of poetry from prose, and the highly formalist manner and structuralist distrust of language s transparency in which she follows that one can also see a similar differencing between the broader spectrum of literature with the sciences. There is no need in Forrest Thomson s work for differing areas to be inclusive of one another, to the point of loss of individuality, because of a homogenizing of methodology and epistemic reasoning. Throughout both Poetic Artifice and her thesis Poetry as Knowledge: The Use of Science by Twentieth Century Poets, Forest Thomson can be seen to put forward a new structure, in which separation is crucial for any kind of interrelation between the two fields of knowledge. Teachers who use collective punishment usually find more resentment from their students rather than the good behavior they are looking for, which begs the question, why do we still think of collective punishmentas an effective way to make people conform? Using collective punishment goes against equality between students, and the equity of the classroom. Schools should not enforce collective punishment as a technique to correct behavior, since it can be harmful to innocent students, is ineffective at correcting behavior long term, and can help instruct students to manipulate others with peer pressure.
