7. How is a typical school day structured in your new
school (timetable)? Do the weeks vary (e.g. Week
A and Week B schedule)? Are there other
expectations around ‘out of school’ study (i.e.
homework)? If so, how do you access your
homework – is there a specific platform to use?
Visit your new secondary school’s website for
research purposes or ask a sibling/relative/friend
if appropriate.

19. Summarise the chapter you’ve just read using a
minumum of 5 sentences and a maximum of 10.
Summarising text succinctly (i.e. brief but with all
the important details) is a very useful skill yet
tricky to master. It will support with sequencing
text and understanding order of events. PRO TIP:
Imagine it’s a Twitter post which limits your
characters (now a generous 280).
