Summary
Goal
To give Indian users an
exclusive app to track their
fitness and motivate them
to get healthier and fitter.
Current
Situation
Right now people in India are frustrated with the
fact that most of the fitness apps are built outside
India and that too exclusively for outsiders. Most
of the calorie counting apps do not including even
a single food item that we Indians consume most
often. Also most of them refer such products that
are not available in India which causes agony and
discontent within Indian customers.
MARKET
OVERVIEW
Google Fit, C25K,
Calorie-counter,
endomondo,
Fitnotes etc. are a
few apps that are
working on a
similar track.
Targeted customers
•Young adults
•Fat aunties
•Old people
Or simply, whosoever wants
to get fitter.
MAIN
FOCUS
• The company launching the app will mainly be
focused on creating its brand equity which could be
done by giving people a high class exclusive, brilliant
application that could be useful in their daily lives.
• After that they may put their focus on getting at least
a threshold amount of profit so that they have enough
finance to invest further in building and improving
other apps.
COLLABORATORS
•The company needs a collaboration with a
company that has great experience in offline
fitness training and coaching for example a
gymnasium chain that has world class trainers.
•Also it needs to collaborate with social media
giants such as fitness pages that could give a
boost to their downloads by promoting their app
on their page itself.
COMPETITOR
OFFERINGS
•GM Diet India is the nearest competitor as it
offers diet plans and other value offerings
customized for Indian customers. It’s dictionary
contains food items consumed in India.
Therefore, it can be an alternative of my app for
people. But however people won’t get a calorie
counter in that app and no track record of the
people’s workouts is kept in that app.
• Simple to use
• Variety of fitness plans and exercises
• Calorie counter
• Social sharing of results
• Motivational videos
• Guide from experts
• Activity log
Since it’s the beginning of the company it needs to
create its brand equity. Therefore, it cannot afford to
keep its prices too high. Neither can it keep it keep
their prices low so as to put themselves into loss.
Therefore according to the market it will have to keep
its app free and keep “in app purchases”. Now the cost
of in-app purchases could be around 1-2 dollars per
month for the whole subscription which would include
motivational videos, ‘talk to the experts’ feature etc.
•Promotional activities like sharing the
app to get one month free subscription
can be implemented.
• Other incentives can be giving people
discount if they show good results and
post those fat loss results on social
media .
v
•Our main collaborator will be the gymnasium
chain or the health experts with whom we have
signed to give better results to people. Thus it is
important to maintain healthy relations with
them. Therefore there will be a team of
managing experts who will keep a record of their
work and also that they are getting the right
amount of money for their work.
•Since majority population gets motivated at
the beginning of a calendar year, therefore
it will be the most apt time to launch our
app and enthusiastically boosting the apps
promotion all across the social media and
become one of the top trending apps of
Google Play.
