This document provides an inservice training on fire safety procedures. It reviews the R.A.C.E. acronym for responding to fires, which stands for rescue, alarm, contain, and extinguish/evacuate. Emergency evacuation procedures are outlined for the Robinwood Medical Center. The emergency code for fire is established as Code Red.
code is emergency work to be carried out .Code Blue means someone is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, typically an adult. It often means cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. All staff members near the location of the code may need to go to the patient.
Disaster plans in hospitals and health care centersDr. Samir Sawli
Emergencies and disasters can happen at any moment – and, they usually occur without warning. When an emergency strikes, the safety of patients and staff will depend on the existing preparedness of Departments and their staff.
Hospital and Department Disaster Response Plans are developed and written to provide fundamental support and direction to all concerned staff.
These plans are an essential building block of the Hospital’s response to a crisis.
They are part of every Department’s basic health and safety responsibilities; as well as operational continuity and planning

Fire safety Training / Guidelines presentationZaheerJamal1
Fire safety training is crucial for preventing and managing fires in various settings. Here's a summary of key points typically covered in fire safety training:
Understanding Fire: Trainees learn about the fire triangle (combustible material, heat, and oxygen), different classes of fires (A, B, C, D, and K), and how fires spread.
Fire Prevention: Emphasizes practices to prevent fires, including proper storage of flammable materials, maintenance of electrical systems, and safe handling of chemicals.
Fire Extinguishers: Covers types of fire extinguishers and their appropriate use for different types of fires. This includes the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) for extinguisher operation.
Emergency Evacuation Procedures: Teaches individuals how to safely evacuate a building in the event of a fire, including identifying primary and secondary escape routes, assembly points, and assisting others during evacuation.
Alarm Systems: Familiarizes participants with fire alarm systems, including how to recognize alarm signals, when to initiate an alarm, and the importance of responding promptly to alarms.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Discusses the importance of wearing appropriate PPE such as fire-resistant clothing, helmets, gloves, and goggles to protect against heat and smoke inhalation.
Emergency Communication: Provides guidance on how to communicate during a fire emergency, including whom to contact, what information to provide, and the importance of clear and concise communication.
Fire Safety Regulations and Standards: Educates participants about relevant fire safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to their workplace or jurisdiction.
Fire Drills and Training Exercises: Involves practical exercises such as fire drills to reinforce training and ensure that individuals can effectively implement emergency procedures.
Response to Specific Hazards: Addresses specific fire hazards relevant to the workplace or environment, such as kitchen fires, chemical fires, or electrical fires, and the appropriate response measures.
First Aid and Medical Response: Covers basic first aid techniques for treating injuries resulting from fires, including burns, smoke inhalation, and other related injuries.
Continuous Education and Review: Emphasizes the importance of ongoing education, regular reviews, and updates to fire safety protocols to ensure preparedness and compliance with evolving standards.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

EVACUATE
Extinguish the fire, if possible; if not
able to extinguish then evacuate the
area.
Use the PASS method to extinguish
the fire.
Pull the pin on the extinguisher.
Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
Squeeze the handles together.
Sweep from side to side.
Be sure to rip off the plastic tag on
the extinguisher before you start.
11. Evacuation Tips
Evacuate ambulatory patients, visitors, and
customers first.
Stay calm and give directions clearly to those
you are evacuating.
If you have fire doors, move evacuees through
the next set of fire doors or work them down to
a lower floor if necessary.
Never use elevators!!!!!
Learn techniques to evacuate persons who can’t
walk.

17. Emergency Code Code Red
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene has adopted regulations requiring all Maryland
hospitals to use a uniform set of emergency security
codes.
This means the emergency codes will be the same
from one Maryland hospital to another.
“Red Letter F” will no longer be used.
Effective November 1, 2004 this new emergency code
will be used by all departments and units on the
hospital campus as well as hospital owned off-sites.
The new code for Fire will be Code Red.
18. Code Red
Alerting others of a fire...
On the Hospital Campus Code Red will be
broadcast on the public address (PA) system.
This includes fire drills and real fires.
Workers at the Robinwood Medical Center should
follow the procedures listed in their Incident
Command Manual.
For all other Health System sites which do not
have a PA system or central alarm system…
Follow the fire plan of your unit or department, noting
how others will be notified of the fire, evacuation
procedures, etc.
19. When a fire is announced…
On the Hospital Campus, all staff should
remain at their current locations until the “All
Clear” is announced.
Do not attempt to return to your
unit/department, moving through fire doors
or using elevators.
Exceptions:
Specific individuals may be paged to return as
situation may require via stairs or as directed.
Patients in transit should be returned to their
rooms or treatment area, whichever does not
involve the use of elevators, or diverted to the
nearest patient holding area.
20. The fire safety procedures that
you’ve learned in this inservice...
Are to be followed WHENEVER there is a fire.
By following these procedures during a fire drill
you practice the appropriate procedure.
Then, if a real fire does occur, the correct
responses take over and you do not have to try
to remember what to do first or what phone
number to call.
Practice does make perfect!!!!!
21. Fire Safety is Everyone’s
Concern!
Remember the R.A.C.E.
acronym.
Know where alarms and
extinguishers are located.
Know what is expected of you
in your unit or department.
Participate in fire drills.
Remember the emergency
code for Fire is Code Red.
Know the procedures to be Code Red
used at the Robinwood
Medical Center.
22. Uniform Emergency Codes
