This document summarizes a training presentation on the proper use of fire extinguishers. The presentation covers when fire extinguishers should and should not be used, how to choose the right type of extinguisher, how to operate an extinguisher using the PASS method of Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep, and safety tips like evacuating if the fire is too large or dangerous. Fire types are classified and extinguishers are meant for small, incipient stage fires only.
Fire Extinguisher is a must have tools for every building and everyone should be know, how to manage Fire Extinguisher. So, it's need to take Fire Extinguisher Training as early as possible. For more info visit, http://www.fireextinguishertraininghq.com/

8 CRITICAL Lessons We Can Learn From Fire Drill @WORK.Abdul Shukor
Fire @Workplace! Nobody likes this. Fire destroys our workplace and may destroy our CAREER too. When fire is small, we control it. When it spreads very quickly, we are outnumbered! So, conducting a fire drill at our workplace is an important event and everybody should participate. Here, I share with you EIGHT critical lessons that may be very useful in the unfortunate event of fire at your workplace.
A 1-day staff Fire Awareness workshop. Presentation is an abstract from an instructor-led session, so certain elements are not fully active; video clips were also contained in the original. A full working version can be obtained from HJA: info@hollandjones.com.
it is related to safety drill to the students of diploma about the fire accidents, fire wounds, rescue and first aid with how to create students first aid kit
This training presentation is about fire extinguishers and their types, how to use the fire extinguishers, what is the right way to fight the fire and what are the limitations of firefighting equipment that is portable and can be changed and shaffle at the time of need anywhere.
2. During this presentation, you will learn the following about
fire extinguishers:
∗When a fire extinguisher should and should not be used;
∗How to choose the proper fire extinguisher;
∗How to operate a fire extinguisher; and
∗The necessary steps to ensure your safety.

3. Fire extinguishers are designed to fight small fires in
their early stages when a fire presents a relatively
small hazard to the operator.
When confronted with a need to use a fire
extinguisher, remember: There is no property worth
a human life in our facility. No one should ever feel
that they are required to use a fire extinguisher, it is
a judgment call.

4. ∗ Three things must be present at the same time to Produce
FIRE.FIRE.
1. Enough OXYGEN to sustain the combustion.
2. Enough HEAT to reach ignition temperature.
3. Some FUEL or Combustible material.
Together they produce the CHEMICAL REACTION that is FIRE.
Take away ONE of these things and the FIRE will be
Extinguished.

6. An incipient stage fire is:
•Small
•Slow to grow
•Minimal smoke
•Minimal heat

If a fire is too large, if there is too much smoke, or if you are too
frightened, DO NOT USE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER. EVACUATE!

7. Fires are classified by the burning fuel:
Class A (A = Ash)
•Ordinary combustibles (paper, wood)
Class B (B = Boil)
•Flammable and combustible liquids and gasses (gasoline,
oil, propane)
Class C (C = Current)
•Energized electrical (motors, wires)
Class D
•Combustible Metal (aluminum, sodium)
Class K
•Cooking fats and oils

8. Fight a small fire with PASS
To operate a fire
extinguisher, we
use this word:
PASSPASS
Each letter
represents one of
the operations:
P=Pull (pull the safety pin)
A=Aim (Aim at the base of the fire)
S=Squeeze (squeeze the operating
handle)
S=Sweep (sweep side to side)

10. 1. Alert others who are at risk from the fire
2. Activate the fire alarm and call the fire department
3. Position yourself between the fire and an exit
4. Stay low
5. Start from 8-10 feet back from the fire
6. Use the PASS system
7. You need to work fast, discharge time is short: generally 10-30
seconds

11. ∗Back away from the fire in case of re-ignition
∗Avoid breathing smoke and products of combustion
∗Always report fire extinguisher use to your supervisor
Above all else: Never attempt to fight
a fire if your instincts tell you it is unsafe
