          Final Reflection
Philosophy of Education
● High Expectations!
● Produce life- long respectful citizens, able to function in an ever-
    changing society.
● Integrate curriculum to encompass the teachings of teaching of
    character education.
● Provide a safe learning environment that ensures student goal
    achievement.
● Teach the values: respect, trust and good role- modeling,
ensuring that this occurs for my students.
● Through all this commitment to the learning environment I will
ensure that always have open communication with the parents
of the students I teach, my colleagues, as well as other involved
in the education of my students.
Where I teach
H.R. McCall Elementary School has McCall Elementary
thirteen general education classes, six
special education classes, and six School
bilingual education classes, pre-
kindergarten through 5th grade, with a
total enrollment of 450 students. Our
school is diverse in terms of ethnicity,
educational needs, and socioeconomic
levels.
All classroom instruction is based on the Illinois Learning Standards. In
addition to reading, mathematics, science, and social studies instruction, all
students are enriched through the arts to include music, art, physical
education, and computers.
McCall provides services and interventions to students in need. Our McCall
School Matrix is a tool which is incorporated in the PBIS (Positive Behavior
Intervention Support). Our Matrix outlines the school wide expectations for
students in all areas of the school including bus, playground, and
lunchroom.
I teach Third grade bilingual to a class of 18 students. 12 boys and 6 girls.

Reading Strategies
When students have a purpose for reading a
selection, they find that purpose not only
directs their reading towards a goals, but
helps to focus their attention. Purposes may
come from teacher directed questions, or
hands- on activities, questions from class
discussions or brainstorming, or from the
individual student.
                  With this project students
                  got opportunities to work
                  cooperatively applying
                  their knowledge, interact,
                  and think critically to
                  solve the activities given
                  by the teacher .
Math Project
     Measuring:Length , to the nearest ½
and ¼ inch, how big is a foot
     Estimating distances
Different activities were developed in this unit.
Students had the opportunity to explore and find
different ways to solve a problem.
The main purpose of the team activities in the
lesson was to encourage students to think about a
question, issue or problem and then refine their
understanding through discussion with a partner or
group.
In this unit students could reflect on a subject
content and deepen their understanding of the
topic through clarification and rehearsal with a
partner or group. They also got the opportunity to
develop skills for small group discussion, such as
listening actively, disagreeing respectfully, and
ideas for clarity.
Final Reflection: Personal Growth
● Interaction with Cohort Members has
taught me to value other's experiences as
a means to become even more open-
    minded.
● Online Discussion Responses allowed me
to clarify some of my concepts and ideas
about teaching that I hadn't necessarily
    expressed before.
● NTEC program has allowed my teaching
    to be more effective.
Future Goal 1

      Continue my Education:

  ● Learning truly is a lifelong process. As human
beings, we are always learning and growing.
As our professional interests and the
demands of the education change because of
the globalization , it is important to expand our
skills and knowledge to be effective teachers.
  ● As educators our responsibility in our
students' lives is to make sure that they are
getting the best education possible so that
      they can succeed.
Future Goal 2
Be a Positive Role Model For my Students and
     my Family:
 ● For educators it must include modeling the virtues that are
vital to developing and staying with a healthy, active,
productive lifestyle. Schools and teachers have a tougher
job than ever helping students develop desirable human
virtues because divorce and two working parents result in
little time for the important details of raising children. Virtues
such as honesty, integrity, commitment, diligence, dignity,
     enthusiasm, excellence, moderation, perseverance,
reliability, respect, responsibility, self-control, sincerity, and
truthfulness are not always being taught at home. The
School is an ideal place to teach these virtues, and many of
them are crucial pieces that help students to become
citizens with integrity and succeed in life.
Final Thoughts
● So to end this presentation I have to say that
the end of this program is just the beginning
to my journey as an effective teacher whether
    for children or adults.
● Words of advice for those just beginning: The
road will give us many challenges, but let us
not give up as educators for it is the gratitude
of having our grown students come back
years later that feed our spirits.
