2. The establishing shot of Ethan clutching the letter in his hands
camera is tracking along with the letter (side on view), cuts to a
long shot seeing Ethan walk towards the stationary camera as he
gets to the camera it starts to follow his movements as his goes
around the corner and into the train station entrance. This goes to
him buying his ticket, after taking the ticket there is a graphic
match to a flashback of the dad grabbing the beer bottle (this was
changed from drugs as our audience thought it was more
important to modern society). When he’s in the station it shows
him looking at the times of the trains and then he looks down at
his watch. Ethan then goes onto the platform and sits down far
away from everyone else. He then sees the business man
shouting down his phone which sparks another flashback of the
parents arguing in the doorway to their room. After the flashback it
cuts to Ethan’s reaction of the the business man. Ethan gets up
from the bench on the platform as he sees the business man
running up the stairs, he then trips and his suitcase comes open
as this happens, there is another flashback of when Ethan
discovered the letter that he holds onto. Flashback back to when
Ethan is throwing paper into the bin, as he misses one he goes to
pick it up and in doing so sees the scrunched up letter in the bin.
