 Ethan is walking up to the train station entrance
camera has a side on view of him clutching the letter in
his hand
 CU, camera is tracking his movements.

 Ethan is still walking towards the entrance of the
station, however the shot has now changed.
 Long shot, stationary camera, as he reaches the
camera it pans his movements as he turns the corner.

 Ethan is now in the archway of the station after
walking around the corner and he is now walking into
the ‘reception’ area of the station.
 Long shot, stationary camera however is still panning
his movements.
 Very slight high angle.

 Ethan is now in the station and is looking at the
timetable to see what time his train is.

 Ethan is looking at his watch so that he can check is he

where his train will be coming.

ends with a long shot again, this is because he is
walking down the stairs and then walks next to the

 Ethan walks up to the bench and sits down on it.

 Pans and tilts the movements of Ethan as he sits down.

 Ethan watches the businessman argue to someone on
the phone over on the opposite platform.

 Foster Parents are arguing in the doorway to a room in
the house that Ethan used to live in.

 Over the shoulder shot of Ethan focus is on Ethan's

on the stairs.

 Final flashback begins where Ethan is doing is
homework and is bored so starts throwing paper balls
into the bin, then he misses one.

 Ethan goes to pick up the piece of paper that he
missed, as he does so he sees a letter addressed to him
in the bin scrunched up.
 Close up, zoom in using ken burns.

Shot 20
 Final shot, Ethan is sitting down on the other platform
waiting for his train, the train cuts across him and as it
leaves the shot Ethan is gone also, and in his place is
the title of the film, fades to black.
