Final Research: Credits
opening sequence
Opening Credits
What to expect in them
This is where they show a list of the most
important members of the production, for example
the director and executive producer. These are
shown at the very start of the film to show the
audience who's in it or who created the film. This
can excite the audience as they prepare to watch
the film with one of there favourite actors in it.
There are many ways for the opening credits to
be presented as they could be just in the bottom
of the screen or they could be used by matching
them with the action in the shot. Sometimes
opening credits aren't even shown this may be
due to them not having a union-mandated billing
in the film for them to have to.
Order in Which Shown
• Studio or distribution presents
• The production company
• In association with name production company
• The directors or producers name
• The main actors
• Title
• Top cast
• Supporting cast
• Casting director
There is also a way they show it as they would show members like music
composer, art director and set design and at the end have written by… and
directed by… as they are seen as more important.
Closing Credits
These are shown once the film has ended and can also be called end
credits. What the end credits include are all the cast and crew that were
in the production. Due to a lot of people being in a film production the text
is normally very small and it goes fairly quickly so they get everyone in, in
a shorter time as a film might show an extra part of film for a sequel or
something. After all of the cast and crew have been shown in which ever
way the film studio logo, any digital service logo or an FBI warning will be
shown.
Small list of who it includes
• Performers
• Director
• Combined credits
• Animations
• Camera
• Costume
• Design
• Stage design
• Lighting
• Make-up
• And many man more…
