Robert Riach evaluated the three magazine pages he created for strengths and weaknesses. For his Ragnarock magazine, he used a red and black color scheme to represent rebellion and the rock genre. He chose the Comic Sans font for readability. His focus group said the black text stroke made text hard to read against the black background. For the cover, they suggested adding a border around the masthead for clarity. The contents page was too cluttered with too much information on one page. For the double-page spread, he regretted not including borders or a grab quote to make the left page less plain. Overall, he felt the cover was strongest but the contents page needed the most improvement, though his focus group said

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
How to Create Map Views in the Odoo 17 ERPCeline George
The map views are useful for providing a geographical representation of data. They allow users to visualize and analyze the data in a more intuitive manner.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Final evaluation

Final Evaluation
Upon reviewing my three magazine pages that I’ve created, I’ve found numerous strengths
and weakness to all of them. During the evaluation I will be reviewing each point and explain
why I believe one page does better than the other and how I could have improved on these
pages if I had the chance to redo this task.
For the colour scheme of Ragnarock I decided to use a red and black colour scheme as red is
a colour that represents rebellion and desire and is commonly used to tie in with the rock
genre, which was the genre I had chosen to use for my magazine. As well as this I also
decided to use the colour black. Normally that is more commonly associated with the metal
music genre, however I decided to break typical conventions due to the name of my magazine
‘Ragnarock’ a play on words of the future events described in norse mythology that foretell
the end of the world ‘Ragnarok’. Since Ragnarok has a very dark and negative meaning I
used the colour black as one of the main colours in my magazine to represent that.
As for the font I decided to use the Comic Sans font for numerous reasons, though the main
reason is that it is a simple and easy to read font. As well as this the font type isn’t so elegant
that my magazine may be mistaken for another more smooth style music genre yet not so
rugged that it ties in with the genre but it is unreadable. As for the colour I used white as it is
a very clear and easy to read colour against a red and black background, however I also used
yellow at times as that is another colour that is able to stand out from a black background
which made it stand out from the rest of the text which was a helpful asset in order to make
the freebie a hot spot as well as being able to easily separate my questions and answers in my
double page spread. I also applied a black stroke effect on all of the text in the magazine in
order for it to seem as the text was lifted from the page. However this didn’t work as well as
I anticipated it to since according to my focus group this stroke blended in with the
background and made it harder to read the text. This gives me the knowledge for future
reference that I will need to use another colour rather than black as the text stroke colour so
that the text does not blend with the background.
For the front cover of Ragnarock I am happy with the overall layout and design of the page.
However there is a con which was discovered by my focus group, and in order to improve its
design I need to use a border around my masthead in order to make the text more clear and
readable which helps better establish the branding of the magazine. As well as this the main
image of the front cover came out clearly and I think I was able to remove the background on
Photoshop well as none of the background is visible from the main image. I tried to conform
to typical magazine conventions by applying many different cover lines on the front cover; I
originally aimed to have 10 cover lines around the main image however later on in the
creation process I decided to reduce that number to 8 so that the front cover doesn’t seem too
cluttered.
Ragnarock’s contents page didn’t have as many pros as my front cover did but I am happy
with the editor’s note that I created, by making one I was able to follow conventions as most
rock magazines have one included and as well as this I was able to fill the blank space that
was prominent on the left side of the magazine. I’m also happy with the pictures used on the
left side of the page that better show the reader what is included in the magazine. The main

con pointed out by my focus group however was that my contents page ended up being very
cluttered as I tried to fit too much on one page. If I had the opportunity to change the contents
page, I would use two pages instead of one for the contents page in order to better spread out
the information given and to make the contents page look less cluttered.
For the double page spread of my magazine I took inspiration from one of the double pages
spreads that was used in my research for task 6, though I did make some changes to that
design in order to make it my own. For example rather than highlighting the questions in my
Q/A I instead used a different colour font, this separated the questions from the answers
without turning the questions into a hot spot, making the answers less noticeable. As well as
this I did not include a border effect around my double page spread, which I later on found
regrettable as the left side of my double page spread ended up looking too plain. As well as
this I also regret not including a grab quote in my magazine since as well as attracting the
reader to the article and using it as a preview to show what the article is about I could of used
it on the left side of the double page spread as I think that page looks too bland.
To conclude I think that my front cover was the best out of the 3 designs and that my contents
page needs the most improvement. However with the focus group I asked about it after I
finished my magazine said that the double page spread was actually the best out of the three
pages though they did agree that the contents page needs the most work.
