The document summarizes a photography session for a horror film poster. The photographer directed an actor to portray different expressions against a white backdrop. Multiple shots were taken from different angles and with props like fake blood. After uploading the images digitally, the photographer analyzed each for quality and suitability for the poster, ultimately selecting image 913. Some shots deviated from initial plans but were still effective. The session was successful overall despite time limitations.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. Image Shooting Session
Date: 13/12/16
Time: 9:05-11:05
In beginning the creation process of my poster, I first arranged and
carried out the shooting stage, with the purpose of capturing the
main image of my piece.
This was accomplished through the direction of actor, Grace, of
whom played the role of the main protagonist within our horror
film, in which I directed the facial expression and body language
that I sought for her to portray.
The imagery was taken against a white backdrop, allowing for a
neutral setting of which could be easily manipulated and cut down
during the editing process.
Within this process, I also applied additional artificial lighting, in
order to illuminate the facial features of my protagonist, allowing for
a more coherent image, in which no facial features were obscured by
dark/limited lighting.
3. Image Shooting Session
Date: 13/12/16
Time: 9:05-11:05
During this process I experimented with a range of poses, shooting a minimal of 3
images based upon my 3 initial sketch composition ideas. By shooting a number of
images, this was effective in providing me with a great range of choice, and back-up
copies, in case that previous images possessed any ailments. Revealing my preparedness
for any potential errors in my imagery.
As well as directing my actor, I also managed the camera equipment, making sure to use
a tripod in order to achieve balance and clean focus with each shot.
Regarding the use of props, in reflection of my designs, false blood was applied to
protagonist Eve’s fingers in order to emphasise the intensity of her facial expression; in
which this was effective in conforming to the eeriness of the horror genre as the torment
I sought to portray was enhanced by the intense presence of blood of which also applied
visual vibrancy to the piece).
In order to achieve the high angle I desired (having the effect of emphasising Eve’s
vulnerability as a character, by making her appear smaller than the viewer), I
experimented with the taken image in which actor Grace was sitting down, although
conveying the illusion that she was standing.
Upon gaining all required shots, I was then able to upload the content digitally, where I
then analysed each image for their level of suitability; basing my decision upon image
framing, quality, mise en scene and the success of message portrayal. This ultimately led
to my decision to select image 913.
4. Evaluation- Strengths
A range of images were taken, allowing for
a variety of possible images to apply to my
poster upon analysis.
High quality equipment was used, allowing
for high quality images to be produced.
A tripod was used, ensuring that the
framing and focus remained steady.
I used my sketch idea, in order to ensure
that my imagery corresponded with my
planning.
Effective props were used, this being blood,
emphasising the terror and pain of the
protagonist.
5. Evaluation- Weaknesses
Some images deviated from the body language
that was originally planned within my sketches.
This resulted in, although producing effective
imagery, difficult images to utilise due to their
lacking correlation to the planning stage of my
piece.
My chosen image possessed a slight change to the
design, this being instead of open eyes, my
protagonist closes them. However, this change
was one I deemed necessary as by shutting her
eyes, my protagonist appeared more vulnerable
and natural in her expression, in which this
conveys the message that she is attempting to
reject and shut out the presence of the antagonist.
Due to taking these images during a school media
session the time to take each image was limited;
due to having to share the space with my fellow
media students (nevertheless, the time was
sufficient in allowing me to achieve the images
that I desired).
6. Overall...
The production stage has resulted in the
successful creation of a range of suitable,
high quality images that could then be
used as my main image upon my film
poster. In which, although time was
limited during this session and some
creative decisions were made that
deviated slightly from the original sketch,
these have not hindered the overall
effectiveness of the final image. In which,
the decision for the protagonist to close
her eyes has been effective in emphasising
her desire to shut out the dark foreboding
of the antagonistic presence (of which
would not have been as clearly
communicated had her eyes been open
and willing to gaze upon this force). Thus,
making for a successful session, with only
a few limitations.
