 The chemical breakdown of a
substance by bacteria , yeast ,or other
microorganism typically involving
effervescence and giving off of heat
 EXAMPLE
Fermentation is used for preservation in
the process that produces lactic acid
as found in yogurt and pickled
cucumbers

3. LARGE SCALE PRODUCTION OF PROTIEN
FROM RECOMBINANT MICROORGANISM
 The production of commercial products that are
synthesized by genetically engineered
microorganism require the partnership of two kinds
of experts;
