2. Immigration Immigration is defined as “migration to a place”. This means that if you move from one country to another you are an immigrant.

3. Fear in immigration Many Americans are told that illegal immigrants and other immigrants work for low wages and steal American jobs. The degree of severity is overblown but illegal immigrants do take American jobs. But would Americans do these jobs if immigrants weren’t around?

Effects of illegal immigrants Now immigrants that are legal are greatly different from illegal immigrants because legal immigrants are forced to pay taxes; while many illegal immigrants do pay taxes, some don’t. That means legal immigrants become Americans so the focus of this PowerPoint will shift to Illegal immigrants.

8. Stereotypes The stereotypes of foreigners also play a part in immigration racism called immacism for short. Many muslims are treated unfairly because of terrorists, even though they had nothing to do with the attacks.

10. Illegality Ilegal immigrants choose to stay illegal because it is near impossible to survive on the wages that they make if they were American citizens.

11. Money Many argue that to live here you have to help in supporting the country, and that’s true because if everyone just took, there would be nothing left.

12. Where is the line drawn? Ideas to compromise include a way to temporarily support illegal immigrants if they need help, or a fund specifically for helping immigrants become American and get a decent job.
