This technology converts waste into energy through an efficient gasification process. The FastOx gasifier uses a simple, proven design to convert a wide variety of waste streams into syngas, inert stone, and recovered metals on a large scale. 2. This technology converts waste and recovers energy more
economically, on a larger scale, and with better efficiency than
most waste conversion technologies. This is achieved by its
simple design derived from the centuries-old, steel-making
blast furnace. The FastOx gasifier converts a wide variety of
waste streams including: municipal solid waste, medical waste,
industrial waste, construction and debris waste, hazardous
waste, and more.
The United States creates over 250 million tons of waste each
year. Landfills are exceeding their capacities and are major
emitters of greenhouse gases and sources of harmful

3. To begin the process, waste is fed into the top of the gasifier
while oxygen and steam are injected into the bottom. The
injection of oxygen and steam is one of Sierra Energy’s
patented innovations and the leading cause of the energy-
dense synthesis gas (syngas) collected at the top of the
gasifier.

4. Valuable Products Produced
Syngas: a synthetic gas used to create hydrogen and
electricity, or refined into clean fuels such as diesel or ethanol.
Inert Stone: Plastics, glass, and other inorganic materials are
melted into a non-leaching stone called slag, used for cement
and other construction materials.
Metal: Metals are recovered as a recycled, liquid metal which
is also sold for reuse.
