Head lice are most common in children and spread through direct head contact. They live on the human scalp and cannot survive off a human for more than a day or two. While they are a nuisance, head lice do not transmit diseases. Four steps are required to treat an infestation: using medicated shampoo, combing out nits with a special comb, cleaning items contacting the infected person's head, and daily combing until the infestation clears.
Here are some imaginative ideas that doctors could do to prevent hay fever:
1. Develop a pollen-proof bubble suit that creates an airtight barrier around the body to block all pollen particles from entering the nose and eyes.
2. Invent a pollen-zapping laser gun that can be aimed at trees/plants and instantly destroy any pollen before it is released into the air.
3. Create a pollen-repelling perfume or lotion that when applied to the skin and mucous membranes, creates a force field that causes any pollen to ricochet away from the body upon contact.

Hire a professional mold inspector for toxic mold inspectionJessicaGibson
Molds and fungi are found everywhere in the environment and can grow in damp areas inside homes. Some molds produce toxic substances called mycotoxins that can be hazardous to health. It is important to inspect for mold if it is found growing in a home, as exposure to mold spores and mycotoxins can significantly impact health, especially for those with allergies or sinusitis. A certified mold inspector should be hired to conduct a thorough inspection and mold test to identify the source of moisture enabling mold growth and provide a remediation plan.

Allergy occurs when the immune system reacts to normally harmless substances called allergens. Common allergens include pollen, dust mites, animal dander, foods and medications. The immune system produces IgE antibodies that mistakenly identify allergens as harmful. When a person is exposed to an allergen, the antibodies trigger an inflammatory response causing allergy symptoms. Allergies can be classified based on the route of exposure such as inhaled, ingested or contact allergens. Skin testing and blood tests can help identify specific allergens causing a person's symptoms. Treatments include avoidance of allergens and medications that reduce inflammation.
This document provides an overview of allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It defines allergic rhinitis as an inflammation of the nasal mucosa caused by an allergic reaction to airborne allergens like pollen, dust mites, or animal dander. Common symptoms include a runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy eyes. The document discusses the causes, risk factors, diagnosis through medical history and skin/blood tests, and potential complications like asthma, sinusitis, or sleep issues. Treatment options including medications and lifestyle changes are also mentioned.
Seasonal allergies, also known as hay fever or allergic rhinitis, are allergic reactions that occur at specific times of the year. They are usually triggered by airborne substances such as pollen from trees, grasses, or weeds. When these substances come into contact with the lining of the nose, eyes, or throat of a susceptible individual, they can cause an allergic reaction. It’s always a good idea to consult with a best dermatologist, for an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plan for your specific allergies. They can provide guidance on managing your symptoms and offer additional treatment options if necessary

The document discusses allergens and food allergies. It defines an allergen as a harmless substance that causes the immune system to mistakenly launch an attack. Common allergens include dust mites, pollen, pet dander, royal jelly, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, milk, eggs, fish and shellfish. Another type of allergen is urushiol, a resin from poison ivy and oak that causes a skin rash. Symptoms of allergies can range from mild to severe or life-threatening anaphylaxis reactions. Proper food handling techniques like handwashing and using color-coded cutting boards are important for food service workers to avoid cross-contamination
An allergy is a condition in which the body’s immune system reacts to a substance that is typically harmless. When the body comes into contact with the allergen, it releases histamine, a chemical that leads to symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and swelling. allergies can be caused by a variety of things, including pollen, pet dander, dust, and certain foods. Some people have such severe allergies that they can go into anaphylactic shock, which can be life-threatening.
This document provides an overview of allergies, including their causes, types, symptoms, treatment options, and prevention strategies. It defines allergies as an abnormal immune response to usually harmless substances. Common types of allergies are food, environmental, drug, and seasonal allergies. Symptoms can range from sneezing and runny nose to life-threatening conditions. Treatment involves medications, allergen avoidance, and immunotherapy. Prevention emphasizes lifestyle changes, clean indoor environments, and safely enjoying outdoor activities.
The document discusses allergies, defining them as immune responses to normally harmless substances. It describes common allergen types like pollen, dust, foods and identifies symptoms like sneezing, watery eyes. Allergies are caused by an exaggerated immune response to usually harmless substances. Common allergens include pollen, dust mites, molds, foods and insect bites. Symptoms vary but include sneezing, rashes and difficulty breathing. Allergies can be detected through skin prick tests, blood tests or patch tests. Avoiding allergens and medications like antihistamines can help treat allergic reactions.
This document discusses allergic rhinitis, its causes, symptoms and complications. It causes an inflammation of the nasal mucosa from repeated exposure to allergens like pollens, dust mites and molds. Symptoms include a runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes and fatigue. Chronic nasal congestion can lead to asthma, sinusitis, ear infections or sleep disturbances. The immune system produces antibodies and inflammatory cells to fight foreign antigens but in allergies it overreacts to usually harmless allergens.
Allergy and immunology involves the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. Diseases typically seen by an allergist/immunologist (often referred to simply as an "allergist") include:
Allergic diseases of the eye, such as allergic conjunctivitis
Respiratory tract-related conditions such as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonitis and occupational lung diseases
Gastrointestinal disorders caused by immune responses to foods, including eosinophilic esophagitis or gastroenteritis, and food protein-induced enteropathies
Skin-related allergic conditions such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, acute and chronic urticaria, or angioedema
Adverse reactions to foods, drugs, vaccines, stinging insects and other agents
Diseases primarily affecting the immune system, including primary immune deficiencies such as severe combined immune deficiency syndromes, antibody deficiencies, complement deficiency, phagocytic cell abnormalities, or other impairments in innate immunity and acquired immune deficiency
Systemic diseases including anaphylaxis and systemic diseases involving mast cells or eosinophils
Diseases associated with autoimmune responses to self-antigens, such as auto-inflammatory syndromes
Stem cell, bone marrow and/or organ transplantation
Allergists may practice in dedicated allergy-related clinical settings and frequently provide consultative services to other physicians and hospitals. Some allergists combine their subspecialized training with general internal medicine practice.
Allergy is defined as a disorder of the immune system often also referred to as atopy. Allergic reactions occur when a person’s immune system reacts to normally harmless substances in the environment.
This document discusses allergic conjunctivitis, which is an allergic reaction causing redness, itching, and watery discharge in the eyes. It can be triggered by substances like pollen, dust, animal dander, and perfume. Symptoms include red, itchy, watery eyes and swollen eyelids. There are two types - acute occurs seasonally while symptoms are milder but more chronic in nature. Diagnosis involves examinations and tests to identify allergens while treatment focuses on oral antihistamines, eye drops and avoiding allergens through precautions like keeping indoor spaces dust-free.
Allergic rhinitis is a very common disorder that affects people of all ages. It is frequently ignored, under diagnosed, misdiagnosed, and mistreated, which not only is detrimental to health but also has societal costs. Although allergic rhinitis is not a serious illness, it is clinically relevant because it underlies many complications, is a major risk factor for poor asthma control, and affects quality of life and productivity at work or school. Hidden direct costs include the treatment of co-morbid asthma, chronic sinusitis, otitis media, upper respiratory infection, and nasal polyp. Nasal congestion, the most prominent symptom in AR, is associated with sleep-disordered breathing, a condition that can have a profound effect on mental health, including increased psychiatric disorders, depression, anxiety, and alcohol abuse. Furthermore, sleep-disordered breathing in childhood and adolescence is associated with increased disorders of learning performance, behavior, and attention. Management of allergic rhinitis is best when directed by guidelines. At this juncture Homoeopathic system of medicine offers a safe and effective solution of the illness if followed under the guidance of expertise. This article provides an overview of the patho-physiology, diagnosis, and appropriate homoeopathic management of this disorder.
