4. (1) Concentration of reactants:
• a greater number of effective collisions are more
likely with a higher concentration of reactant
particles.
(2) Nature of Reactants:
• reactions of ions tend to be faster than those of
molecules
(3) Temperature: With an increase in temperature,
there are more particles with sufficient energy
needed for a reaction (energy is ≥ Ea)
4
5. (4) Pressure:
->For gaseous reactants, the number of collisions
in a certain time interval increases with increased
pressure.
(5) Surface area:
A greater exposed surface area of solid reactant
means a greater chance of effective collisions.
5
6. (6) Presence of Catalysts:
A catalyst is a substance that increases a
reaction rate without being consumed by the
reaction.
(7) Physical state of Reactants:
(reactants in the same phase may come into
contact via thermal action affect reactions
between reactants in different phases).

7. • Conclusion:
As I have mentioned that above all factors can
effect the rate of chemical reaction. But two
factors namely Temperature of the System and
Concentration of the Reactants can effect the
rate of chemical reaction much more than
others.
