For their final project, second semester Northern Virginia Community College Composition students (ENG 112) work in groups to create presentations that introduce, analyze, and draw a conclusion about a significant American cultural artifact, (a trend, a celebrity, or anything that significantly impacts American culture). Students work together to build a persuasive argument using a combination of text, multimedia, and visual design. Students develop a claim about the negative or positive impact of the artifact on the demographic of American culture it affects. Alternatively, students may discuss what the artifact says about our culture. These students are asked to explore a cultural artifact and determine its significance and/or role in our society. Students are encouraged to present their findings using any media they wish to implement.

2. WHAT IS ‘FACETIME’?
FaceTime was first introduced in new iPhone 4 as a new feature. It is
real time video messages face to face which can be use with wifi
or data. FaceTime can be use anytime and anywhere if each
person owns apple product with FaceTime feature.

 Can be use internationally
 Free to use with wifi!
 Good quality video image and microphone
 Easy to use
 Easy access

• Improvement in economy by using FaceTime

• Process of getting a job is not as difficult in American
culture

5. MONEY SAVING
With the use of wifi people can make phone calls using “FaceTime audio” without
using any mobile data. It lowers the cost of phone bills because of not using the
mobile data. Not using it allows for the greater chance of staying within the data
plan in place with the mobile companies.

6. FACETIME FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES
 Since the invention of FaceTime, certain schools have adopted policies which
allow teachers to broadcast their lectures
 This allows students with illness or other disabilities have the same access to
education as those whom are healthy
 Because the components of FaceTime, students whom use this technology may
also participate in in-class discussions, answer questions, and communicate with
peers
 More and more schools are implementing this technology, and it is anticipated to
be highly used in the future

7. COUNTER-ARGUMENT
 Video applications such as FaceTime allow for predators to easily
connect with innocent minors
 Using FaceTime, predators are able to solicit sex through video
chats
