This document discusses extending the life of SS7 networks through migration to IP-based SIGTRAN standards. It outlines 5 steps: 1) migrating SS7 TDM links to IP to reduce costs and increase reliability. 2) Enabling existing STPs for SIGTRAN to maintain current infrastructure. 3) Replacing end-of-life STPs with supported solutions. 4) Bridging old and new networks through virtual STPs. 5) Migrating any SS7 link type to IP to eliminate leased lines and improve redundancy. The presentation introduces the TSG800 signaling gateway for supporting these transitions and takes questions.
