Insight To Organic Dairy Farming. . Abstract. Organic Dairy
INSIGHT TO ORGANIC DAIRY FARMING
Abstract
Organic dairy farming implies raising dairy creatures on natural nourish and giving them the
entrance to pasture, alongside the confined utilization of anti infection agents and hormones. While
natural products, vegetables, grains, and some animals have for some time been backbones of the
natural development, Organic dairy farming is a relative newcomer. With the expansion in the
mindfulness and wellbeing cognizance among purchasers, interest for natural items including milk
is expanding. The way that most natural markets and customers are in created nations and are set
up to pay a premium for natural items makes Organic Dairy farming a specialty zone with fantastic

In the U.S., the introduction of the organic farming is normally credited to J.I. Rodale. The
explanations behind producing and purchasing organic food are individual and can be mind
boggling. Be that as it may, most will fall into three classifications: health, community, and
environment. The organic development is based on a central rule: healthy soils lead to healthy
crops, healthy animals, healthy humans, and a healthy planet (Pierce and Tilth, 2014). Organic
crops and animals generation concentrates on building soil organic matter and science to make a
practical, dynamic condition for delivering biological sustenance and food. Organic horticulture is
additionally observed as an approach to manage and bolster family cultivates in inclination to
faceless, constantly extending super and corporate farm models.
Organic farming is honed in 160 nations and 37.2 million hectares of agrarian land are overseen
naturally. Worldwide offers of organic food and drink achieved US$54.9 billion in 2009 (Willer
and Kilcher, 2011). 40% of the world s natural makers are in Asia, trailed by Africa (28%) and
Latin America (16%). The nations with the most makers are India (677,257), Uganda (187,893)
and Mexico (128,862). However animal products are still a little share of the natural market,
contrasted with organic products, oats and herbs.(Willer and Kilcher, 2011).

Weathering And Erosion Of Soft Rocks
Soft rocks are very important geomaterials since they are heavily used in construction for example,
buildings, road and dams but they sometimes seem to cause some problems due to their
sedimentary properties like fast weathering and low strength. Weathering is a process in which rock
break down or dissolve with the help of natural agents. Weatheringand erosionare constantly
changing the earth s surface, so that has a big impact on construction and usage of soft rocks over
time. Weathering can be either mechanical or chemical. Some regions in the world mainly possess
weak sedimentary rocks and very low in other stronger rocklike igneous or metamorphic. Because
of the these weak characteristics, it might be tough to use soft rocks especially since some
methods and systems are made mainly for hard rocks. These issues that we are dealing with lead to
the need of the understanding of soft rocks, how they work and how to prevent them from breaking
up and crumbling in order to maximize their usage.
Weathering and Erosion
Weathering is the process where rocks and minerals break down or dissolve into smaller pieces and
fragments. Erosion is then the transportation of weathering remains. This is done with the help of
natural agents such as water, wind, animals..etc. It all depends on the composition of the rock,
different agents such as temperature change and rainfall amount. Water for examples is the most
common, like when it seeps in the pores of rocks, freezes overnight and

Photos, Photography, and Images
An Image is Worth a Million Words
A picture represents a moment in history that cannot be authentically recreated. To catch an action,
an image, or an emotion by film is truly a special gift and one which most people take for granted.
For an image to capture a moment that simultaneously speaks for one person, a nation, and a cause
is really worth a thousand words as Neil Postman puts it (515), even a million. It is irreplaceable by
anything other than understanding, appreciation, and wonder. Three memorable photographs that
embody these assets are those of five members of the British Royal Family walking behind Princess
Diana s coffin, Neil Armstrong s first steps on the moon, and American soldiers raising the flag
atop a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet perhaps the most moving expressions were on the faces of Princess Diana s sons, Prince
William and Prince Harry, whose beloved mother was suddenly taken from them a few short
days before. It is clear that the shock seemed almost unbearable to these young boys who were
now lost because the center of their world, their mother, was dead. People around the world were
able to share the pain and sadness of the members of Princess Diana s family through their
expressions, unequivocally portrayed by that one photograph. Furthermore, in his article By
Means of the Visible : A Picture s Worth, Mitchell Stephens explains what makes pictures so
powerful in conveying emotion by stating, [. . . ] words [ . . .] must work hard to tell us what a
glance could about the expression on that face (481). In addition to showing the feelings of the
British Royal Family, this photograph is a symbol that shows the world that, while Princess Diana
is dead physically, she will forever be alive in the memories of her people. Her impact on society
will never be forgotten and neither will the courage and strength in the faces of those men that
touched the hearts of so many people.
A second memorable picture is that of Neil Armstrong s first steps on the moon in July 1969,
which is remembered as a celebrated image that represents the power, not only of America but of
the whole human race, to conquer space. Surely most

We Choose To Go To The American Spirit Speech Summary
John F. Kennedy s Passionate Appeal to the American Spirit: We Choose to Go to the Moon On
September 12, 1962, John F. Kennedy gave a rhetorically sound speech at Rice University in
Houston, Texas with the intent to rally American support for his space exploration proposition.
Kennedy had proposed his plan to congress a couple months before and this speech was his call
to the American people to stand behind him. While the speech is remembered for its famous line,
We choose to go to the moon, it was a carefully constructed piece of rhetoric. Kennedy s
immediate audience extends beyond the people that were in Rice Stadium that day. His message
was intended for the entire American populace as both a way of informing the people about his
plan for space exploration and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kennedy utilizes a form of the known new contract towards the beginning of his speech to show
the audience where they stand in reference to history while creating a sense of urgency. In his
approach to the known new contract, Kennedy conveys where America has been and where
America is going. Kennedy first conveys America s scientific position by stating, Despite the
striking fact that most of the scientists that the world has ever known are alive and working today...
the unanswered and the unfinished still far outstrip our collective comprehension. While the first
sentence could have been worded better to express that there are more scientists active than ever
before, this section of the speech conveys that America has many unanswered questions, but it also
has the scientific manpower to answer these questions in order to make space travel a reality. As
Kennedy progresses, he condenses human history into a 50 year timespan with an emphasis on
scientific advancements in order to give the audience perspective by establishing where humankind
has been. As he goes from the

Summary Of The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao
In The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz the author uses the trick of different
stories to sew together a series of experiences to create the full story of Oscar s life. There are
many important pieces in the book that help create an understanding of how Oscar came to be
Oscar. One example is the experiences of his family members while they lived in Santo
Domingo, such as La Inca deciding to go find Beli and also when Beli fell in love with the
Gangster. The influence of the sci fi world has also had a massive effect on Oscar, since he had
no real examples of a healthy relationship he was under the impression that all relationships had to
be like the one s he saw in movies. Overall the influence of his mother s past and the influence...

A turning point in Oscars future was when La Inca went to find Beli and save her from the
family who locked her in a chicken coop. That was incredibly important because if La Inca hadn
t gone and got Beli then Beli wouldn t have had to flee to America and Oscar wouldn t have been
born at all. Diaz chose specific points in the book to tell the story of Beli while also telling the
story of Oscar to show how Beli s life influenced Oscar. The use of Yunior as a narrator in this
story is unique but it provides the reader with a bird s eye view of Beli s past and lets the reader
see how it changed Oscar. Yunior s role shows the reader stories of people s past that we wouldn
t otherwise have known if Yunior or Oscar had told the story from a first person point of view.
Another example of a story that would have been unknown to the reader is when Beli fell in
love with the Gangster, and it eventually led to her having to leave Santo Domingo to go to
America where she would be safe. If she had not fell for the gangster then she most likely
wouldn t have left and wouldn t have met Oscar s father in New York. If she hadn t left then
Oscar would have grown up in Santo Domingo rather than New Jersey, and Oscar s worldview
would have changed drastically. Diaz introduced the story of Beli growing up in Santo Domingo
to show the difference between growing up there versus Paterson. The people that came before
Oscar changed many aspects of his life and where he grew

A Narrative Essay About Working With A Special Person
Working with people, especially those who have complex disabilities has been my passion since
my teens. My 1st experience working with someone who was nonverbal and had autism was
babysitting my neighbor; this experience started me on my life path. Since then I have been a
special education teacher, a director of an independent living center, a school based Occupational

Special Education, an MOT in Occupational Therapy and am enrolled in the Continuing
Administrative License s program at Portland State University.
I am a hard working, dedicated and creative thinker. I believe in finding the simplest solution to
any problem in ways that meet all party s needs. This past year I was involved with establishing a

The current idea that people believed in at the time was the geocentric model. The geocentric
model showed the Earth being the center of the universe and the rest of the planets revolving
around it.
This idea was introduced by Ptolemy to explain how the planets moved. However, the geocentric
model
did not follow Aristotle s requirement for the uniform circular motion of planets. Copernicus then
thought
he could follow this requirement by using a heliocentric model of the universe where the distances
of the
planets from the sun had a direct relationship to their orbit size.
His information, however, did not completely invalidate the geocentric model. The contributions
of other astronomers hundreds of years later eventually provided enough information to prove the

This inhibition at low concentrations prevented bone denigration and kept a healthy proliferation
rate of bone cells. This process was tracked with F ALN to demonstrate that ALN was taken into
cells from cell surface into bone marrows in the replanted teeth and into osteoblastic cells in vitro.
Local ALN treatment enhanced the growth of bone forming cells adjacent to the bone surfaces in
the in vivo model. Results were consistently affirming that N BPs can directly affect the osteoblast
growth and proliferation. This study found that 3 day treatment using rat osteoblastic cells with
ALN at an early differentiation stage induced upregulation of osteocalcin expression and
mineralization and a later differentiation stage. Treatment with high ALN concentrations caused
harmful effects with decreased cell viability and inhibition of cell differentiation. Bone formation
may be mediated directly by incorporation of ALN through inhibition of mevalonate pathway. N
BP s have been used to treat systemic bone metabolic disorders. The local application of N BP s

to reduce amount of drug used and target site of interest avoiding systemic exposure and harmful

Desire In The Symposium
In Plato s The Symposium, a group of well versed men consider philosophical arguments,
specifically regarding the role desire plays in a virtuous life. As academics and philosophers who
hold high rank in the social system of ancient Greece, these men are praised for their wisdom and
eloquence. One such philosopher, Pausanias, gives a speech early in the text that addresses desire
as a multifaceted concept, setting the tone for the novel. The Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Indian text
that is much revered in modern Hindu culture, considers the same concepts of desire and virtue, but
is written as a dialogue between the warrior prince Arjuna and his charioteer, the deity Krishna.
Within the text, Krishna addresses Arjuna s concerns regarding his... Show more content on

Therefore, for Pausanias, desire of such worldly and mortal objects is a manifestation of an inferior
type of love. Of the man who succumbs to this love, Pausanias says, He is not constant, because
he loves something that is not constant: as soon as the bloom of the body fades, which is what
attracted him, he flies away and is gone , bringing disgrace on all he said and promised, (Plato 16).
The fickle nature of worldly desire is illuminated by the flower metaphor Pausanias uses; the
beauty of a flower, the bloom, is akin to the superficiality of earthly desire, and neither is the
foundation of lasting love. Physical desire and the resulting attachment to the material world cause
disgrace for the soul who delights in such cravings. While Pausanias warns against over attachment
to physical objects in The Symposium, the deity Krishna completely condemns the material world
in The Bhagavad Gita. For Krishna, desire of sensuous objects is the root of evil, trapping the soul
and bringing it harm.Concerned only with these sensuous object, Arjuna is rebuked on the
battlefield by Krishna, who says, Contacts with matter make us feel heat and cold, pleasure and
pain. Arjuna, you must learn to endure fleeting things they come and go! (Miller 33). Krishna
extends Pausanias s warning to all physicality, saying that desire of any physicality is dangerous to
the soul. In a

Feminism Is A Conflict Theory
In this essay it will assess to what extent feminism has added to our understanding of society.
Firstly, Feminism is a conflict theory that believes that all religions are instruments set up by men
to oppress women with the set of beliefs and practices. There are many different branches of
feminism; the ones being evaluated are called Liberal, Radical and Marxist feminists. Feminists
believe that society is malestream and not mainstream as people believe. The first main flaw in
feminist theory is the fact that feminists only examine society from the viewpoint of women, they
do this because they believe they are in fact helping fight against the oppression of women but the
problem is that they do not examine the views of many male counterparts and therefore cannot help
us completely understand our society. The main differentiation between the different feminist
theories is the way that the oppression against women is caused. Firstly, Liberal feminist are
focused on human and civil rights and freedom of individuals, to summarise, they believe that all
humans should have equal rights within their society. They believe that society changing itself to
help women does not happen. Liberal feminists believe the status of women changing can become
a reality if laws that are oppressing for women change because it would create more opportunities
for women to prove that they are equal to men. Oakley explains a difference between sex and gender

Relationship Between A Mother And Daughters Essay
Almost every woman in North America has some form of a relationship with their daughter or
mother, or both. However, these relationships can vary in amiability and affection. Whether due to
similarities or differences in personality or circumstances in life, mothers and daughters can be
close confidants or fierce foes. These familial relationships have been studied in part by Marianne
Hirsch and Sharon M. Varallo in their essays on the familial gaze and the genre of family
photographs, respectively. In this essay, I will be using the work previously done by Hirsch and
Varallo to analyze two different motherdaughter relationships presented in the television show
Gilmore Girls. The two relationships differ vastly in their outward appearance, however both
relationships show underlying characteristics of both friendship and animosity. Overall, these two
mother daughter relationships demonstrate that the love between a mother and a daughter can be
expressed in various ways.
Gilmore Girls follows the lives of three women in the Gilmore family. Rory, the youngest, is a
teenager at the beginning of the show. She is an only child and was raised by her single mother,
Lorelai, in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Lorelai is in her thirties throughout the

Since the beginning of its existence as a country, Italy has faced enormous challenges in
establishing itself as a unified political and social entity. The geographic, economic, and linguistic
differences between its various regions and the artificial manner in which they were amalgamated
created a legacy of internal divisions that continues to dominate the country s political climate to
this day. Italy s numerous historical fiascoes, such as its disastrous involvement in the two World

Risorgimento. At first, the anti fascist Resistance movement, which dominated the end of World

Originally applied to the government of Agostino Depretis in the 1880s, transformismo quickly
became equated with any ethically questionable, self interested actions taken by public officials
purely for the sake of staying in office and maintaining power. This often manifested itself in the
creation of a smoke screen of reformatory rhetoric intended to satisfy the electorate, without a
subsequent introduction of any real reforms. The colonialist manner in which Piedmont annexed
the other regions to create a united Italy during the Risorgimento and the divisions inherent in the
new kingdom resulted in a historical compromise that made any deliberate social change very
difficult. Consequently, Italianleaders of the destra storica and sinistra storica (the first two eras of
Italian political history) shifted their focus from meaningful governance to the practice of
transformismo, permanently shaping the face of Italian political life. The prevailing motto of this
practice was captured perfectly in a line from Luchino Visconti s 1963 film, The Leopard: Things
must change in order to stay the same.
Attendismo, the other type of quasi action, was a tendency of the leftist Italian parties to passively

Portia And Calpurnia In Julius Caesar
Portia and Calpurnia in the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare were the wives of Brutus
and Caesar. They had many more privileges at that time than most women because they were the
wives of great noble Romans, and of course Calpurnia was the wife of the leader Julius Caesar.
Since Brutus wife, Portia, was the daughter of the successful leader Cato, she was a very powerful
Roman. But, they still were treated far from equals of their superior, their husbands. As wives of
these specific Romans, they were treated with much higher respect than most women were at that
time. Portia as an individual was described as pure in nature, youthful, and very beautiful. I believe
that she took being a Roman womanto be quite difficult, and felt very underappreciated because
of it. She wanted to show Brutus that she was worthy of his trust and to prove her worth to him,
she cut open her thigh. She expresses her feelings of being his wife and a Roman women at that
time in part of her monologue; Therefore fear not, but tell me all you are concealing from me,
for neither fire, nor lashes, nor goads will force me to divulge a word; I was not born to that
extent a woman. Hence, if you still distrust me, it is better for me to die than to live; otherwise
let no one think me longer the daughter of Cato or your wife. All in all, she felt that she was less
of a person, although being the daughter of Cato and the wife of Brutus, she still did not feel as
though she would ever be able to

Usury Laws can lead to a black market in money lending. These regulations set by the
government are intended to protect the citizens from greedy lenders by setting a maximum rate
of interest, above which it is illegal to lend money. Lenders charge higher rates of interest to
compensate for the amount of risk that can be associated with the transaction, risk being the
likely hood of not getting paid in full. Once a usury law is put in effect there becomes a
maximum rate at which the lender can lend money. With this maximum rate of interest some
potential borrowers will be assumed too risky because it is not legal to charge the rate of interest
to compensate the risk associated with lending. This leads to a smaller amount of money
available to borrow from legitimate lenders, so often a borrower will turn to a black market lender
who will illegally lend them money at a higher rate of interest. Often times the black market lender
will use forms of persuasion such as bodily harm to the borrower and their family to ensure
repayment. This clearly is more dangerous than high interest rates. Below is a supply and demand
curve that demonstrates the government interest rate and the black market correlation.

The Literacy Education Is Not A New Issue
There is a prevalence of underprepared students entering postsecondary education. The College
Board (2013) reports as many as 57% of students completing the SAT exams did not meet the
benchmark for college level coursework; this figure may present low, as it does not necessarily
include the countless students who do not attempt the test, as they are planning on attending
postsecondary schools not requiring these scores for admissions or not planning on continuing their
educationafter high school. Individuals might point fingers at secondary education and blame them
for not preparing the collegefreshman adequately, but unfortunately, there are a myriad of
influences that generate this educational skills gap.

The opportunity exists to place the liability of underprepared students on secondary education;
concentrating on a flurry of mitigating factors existing within secondary education. Learners may
arrive underprepared because they had not planned to attend a postsecondary school; possibly, a
high school college track was not studied. Students may have originated from underprivileged
school districts and communities, and may not have had the advantages of solid school budgets,
staff, or technology. First generation students may also prove to be underprepared, as they exhibit
uncertainty as to what is required for college preparation. Inappropriate high school promotion or
an academic skill gap demonstrates another pool of students presenting as underprepared.
Subsequently, students may have suffered a delay between initial knowledge acquirement and
postsecondary enrollment; recognized when a required high school course may have concluded in
the junior year with over a year break in preparation. Realistically, there are numerous causes we
can attribute to students arriving on campus underprepared. The true motivation to designating
fault is to vitalize change; to design programs, at both the secondary and postsecondary levels, to
prepare students to be ready to learn and develop at a college level.

Women In The Military Draft
In the midst of debating whether or not to reinstate the draft, the question of whether the women
should be included in the draft is up in the air. In my personal opinion, I believe that women should
be included in the draft, since we re all considered equal. Opponents of women being in the military

countries, women are drafted into the militaryright after they are finish with schooling.
One reason why I believe women should be drafted is because equality. One in five new military

International Accounting Standards Board s Preferred...
Introduction
International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC, 2003) define an asset as a resource
controlled by the entity as a result of past events and from which future economic benefits are
expected to flow to the entity. In a business model assets act as inputs, either directly (plant,
machinery, inventory) or indirectly (goodwill, patents, investment property) to provide products
and services to the customer. As assets are expected to generate future benefits, the income
generated by these assets is reported under the Income Statement while their value is reported in the

an exit price) (IFRS13). Fair value is the market value of a firm s assets and ignores any special
benefits of the assets to the business resulting from competencies such as man management skills as
well as any transaction costs (Hitz, 2007). Therefore a fair value measurement is market based
rather than entity specific and it represents unbiased measurements that are consistent from period
to period and across entities (Penman, S. H., 2007). This helps to reinforce consistency and
comparability across various reporting entities. Fair Value measurements also have the property of
objectivity as it is non entity specific and reflects the market s valuation as compared to entity
specific measurements which are subject to managerial judgments (Whittington, 2010).
Entity specific measurements account for intangibles such as business competencies and
managerial know how, which gets reflected in the financial statements irrespective of whether they
have been demonstrated or not. Using fair value limits today s profit recognition to amounts market
participants would assess, and leaves to the future the recognition of profit associated with
management skill and synergies (Barth, 2010).
Hence we can conclude that market valuations incorporate market expectations regarding future
cash flows in an efficient and unbiased manner (Hitz, 2007). It can also be argued that fair value

Biography of Ernest Hemingway Essay
Biography of Ernest Hemingway
Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long
enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter. You will meet them doing various
things with resolve, but their interest rarely holds because after the other thing ordinary life is as
flat as the taste of wine when the taste buds have been burned off your tongue. ( On the Blue Water
in Esquire, April 1936)
A legendary novelist, short story writer and essayist Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21,

After Hemingway s depression he was sent to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. There he
received electroshock therapy that impaired his memory and stripped from him the concentration
to write. Hemingway also lost the ability to do other things he so loved like fish and hunt. So
perhaps he killed himself because Ernest Hemingway could no longer be Ernest Hemingway.
2. Hemingway s works
Ernest Hemingway started his career as a writer in a newspaper office in Kansas City at the age
of seventeen. Here he learned to get to the heart of a story with direct, simple sentences. After the
United States entered the First World War, he joined a volunteer ambulance unit in the Italian
army. Here he was wounded near the Italian/Austrian front. Hospitalized, he fell in love with his
nurse, who later called off their relationship. After his return to the United States, he became a
reporter for Canadian and American newspapers and was soon sent back to Europe to cover such
events as the Greek Revolution. During the twenties, Hemingway became a member of the group
of expatriate Americans in Paris, which he described in his first important work The Sun Also
Rises (1926). After the World War I, Hemingway lived in Chicago. There, he met Sherwood
Andersen and married Hadley Richardson in 1921. On Andersen s advice, the

The Aeneid By Virgil Is An Epic War Poetry

Juno is the first god to intervene in the Trojan War. When she heard rumors that her favorite city
Carthage was about to be destroyed by the Trojans, she persuades Aeolus god of the wind to put a
storm to destroy Aeneas and his fleet who are on their way to Italy ( The Internet Classics Archive |
The Aeneid by Virgil , 2017). Those who want to proceed on to Italy are about to start the
journey when Venus, fearing that Juno will again cause trouble, asks the sea god Neptune to give
assurance of a safe journey for her son. Neptune does as Venus has requested in exchange for one
human life, which turns out to of Aeneas s ship s pilot, Palinurus, who falls overboard but can
swim to land, only to be killed by thugs.
Fortunately, Neptune god of the sea restrains the storm saving Aeneas and seven of his ships who
then take refuge in Libya an African port. I found that scene similar to Homer s Odyssey where
Poseidon the sea god sends a storm to destroy Odysseus on his way home because he despised him
just like Juno in the Aeneid, another god rescues similar Odysseus. Such scenes demonstrate the
life altering effect that the gods have on the humans even though they lack the supreme power to
change human fate. Gods in the Trojan War manipulate the humans like puppets to fulfill their
purposes and interests.

Cause Of Homework
Is homework more trouble than it is worth? Many students would say it is. Often times, students
will work on homework for several hours a day and produce no results. Whether it is in tests,
quizzes, or real life situations, improvement does not always show in the results. In fact, homework
can cause many different problems. Teachers should stop assigning homeworkso students will not

customer service, easy access to locations, and ease of electronic interface. Customer service is a
large part of any businesses success. It can also be a big deciding factor when someone is stuck

Egyptian Pyramids In Ancient Egypt

Iphones Vs. Apple Inc.
With a company as prosperous as Apple, it s no surprise that most people already know quite a

design element of sleekness for individuality by including a colored backing that came in five
colors. These were used to give the customer more a variety than iPhones previously offered.
However, this design choice proven fruitful as the 5C received many positive reviews that

phones, I can wholeheartedly admit that the 5C is much more durable and also looks just as
stylish as its counterparts. The feel of the backing is smooth and easily able to grip with or

U7A1 Supreme Court Cases
U7A1 Supreme Court Cases Supreme Court Case #1: Tinker v. Des Moines Independent School
District (1969) Background: 1965 three students from Des Moines, Iowa (15 year old John
Tinker; his sister, 13 year Mary Beth Tinker; and a friend, 16 year old Christopher Eckhardt),
opposing the Vietnam War came up with a plan to wear black arm bands to their respective
schools. The arm bands were to serve the purposes of symbolizing a protest against the Vietnam
War. School officials got wind of the children s protest plans and created a policy that if student
showed up at school wearing black bands would be suspended and unable to return to school until
they agreed to follow the no black arm band policy. All three children still chose to wear the black
arm bands to school and all three were suspended from school. Issue(s): First Amendment (Freedom
of Speech), Fourteenth Amendment (Due Process) Court Decision(s): The Court ruled in favor of
the students. In accordance with the First Amendment, their actions were constitutional. It was not
disruptive, nor did it invade other s rights. However, this did not give unlimited freedom of speech
to the students. As long as they continued the peaceful protesting without causing distractions, they
could continue. Chief Justice: WARREN Legal Impact of the Decision: The new no black arm
bands policy at the schools did not prohibit all political symbols, but rather just singled out the
black arm bands used to support no involvement in

What Is Atticus Taking A Stand
To Kill A Mockingbird Rough Draft Taking a stand (verb): Adopt a firm position about an issue.
This is a classic way to show someone s stand on problems in today s society, or even in the past.
In To Kill A Mockingbird (TKAM), Atticus Finch, father to Scout and Jem Finch, defends an
innocent Black man against rape charges and ends up in a spiral of hate, even though he was
merely standing for equal rights for everyone in 1930 s Alabama. Many people in real life also
took a stand for things they believed in. Taking a stand can change your community, and even the
world, and here s a few examples. In To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus Finch takes a stand for equal
rights by defending an innocent Black man in court against rape charges. The text... Show more

There were a few differences between Atticus s stand and Scout s stand, though. First of all,
Atticus took a stand for rights and long term impacts on the community and the country. He took
his stand not only for Tom Robinson, but also for all oppressed Negroes in Maycomb. His stand
was well thought out, planned, and executed to the best of his abilities, and they made a lasting
impact. Scout, on the other hand, took her stands in the name of family. She stood up for the
safety of her family and her friends, and acted mostly on impulse, with no plan or idea of what to
do, just listening to her heart. Her stands made an impact on her family, friends, and other loved
ones, but not necessarily on the

Grossman Grow Up Not So Fast Analysis
The story Grow Up? Not So Fast was taken from Time magazine on January 16, 2005 from
writer, novelist, and journalist, Lev Grossman. Grossman was born in 1969 and grew up in
Lexington, MA, to English professors, which essentially inspired him to become the writer he is
today. From his childhood, adolescence, to his college years he read a lot and eventually gained
a career in writing, his passion. The first novel of his that was published was called, Warp in
1997, followed by Codex in 2004, which was an international sensation. Interspersed with his
career in writing successful novels, Grossman has been a book critic at Timemagazine, he has
analyzed many stories that have come across his desk and has written many stories that have
appeared in famous papers and magazines like the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and even
Time. The story, Grow Up? Not So Fast is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not So Fast he talks about a new generation called the Twister . They are young adults from about
the age of 18 to 25 who just will not grow up. Grossman goes on to argue in various ways to
appeal to the readers emotional, ethical, and logical senses throughout his story. Grossman
concentrates his story with what seems to be real life examples, people in today s society
considered twixters, which embody every ounce of this new identity. They do not own their own
house, they have had many jobs, they are not married nor do they have kids, and some even live
at home. He then goes on to argue why this new subculture came to be and what this new
subculture entails, filling each with personal examples from real life people and every now and
then comparing them to the past as to show how bad things are. However, there are a few
instances in Grossman s piece that he fails to hit the mark, and some instances where he blatantly
ignores an aspect of it just to prove his point, which is understandable but is easily seen

The Structure Of Amino Acids
Proteins are very large molecules known as polymers. Polymers are made up of smaller repeating
units called monomers, the monomers of proteins are called amino acids.
Molecular Structure of an Amino Acid The structure of an amino acid consists of an amino group
(NH2) and a carboxyl acid group (COOH) bonded to a central carbon atom (C) with a hydrogen
atom (H) and a side chain (R) which is variable.
There are twenty different types of amino acids of which eight are essential to the human body. All
amino acids include the the above basic structure, it is only the variable side chain (R) that differs
in each of the amino acids. It is this different arrangement of atoms on the side chain that makes
each amino acid unique. The smallest amino acid found in proteins is glycine, in which the side
chain consists of just a single hydrogen atom (The Biology Project, 2003).
To make proteins, amino acids must be bonded together into chains. The bond is called a peptide
bond and is formed by condensation reaction.
Condensation Reaction Between Two Amino Acids to Form a Dipeptide
A peptide bond is formed between the carboxyl acid group (COOH) of one amino acid and the
amino group (NH2) of another amino acid by condensation reaction. During the condensation
reaction, the oxygen and hydrogen atoms (OH) from the carboxyl group of the first amino acid
and the hydrogen atom (H) from the amino group of the second amino acid are lost. This means

Successful Sports Organizations
Nowadays, it is really important for sports organizations to set themselves apart from other
organizations in the industry. That essentially determines if an organization is more successful
than others or not. Trying to capture the audience and build up a fan base is not always the easiest
part to do within the sports industry especially in today s world where every organization competes
against each other to sell more tickets and make more revenue. However, the main question is how
can sports organizations separate themselves from each other, create a fan base that is very
supportive and stay competitive within the industry?
That question can be answered with one simple word: storytelling. People have always like
stories especially when they feel like they are emotionally engaged in the story. And that is where
a sports organization needs to start. To be able to set themselves apart they need to be able to tell a
story that the customer believes and trusts in a story that is not only given by the sports
organization but something creative and well thought through so that the fan feels involved and
part of the team. And the better a sports organization can tell their story the easier it will be to sell
tickets to their customers. Right along with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Child s Silent Killer
A Child s Silent Killer A serious life threatening condition is sweeping over the U.S. today. This
ailment can cause numerous types of cancer and is drastically increasing in incidence. The
individuals affected are our children and adolescents. No this disease is not untreatable, it is not
contagious and there is no chemo involved yet it continues to grow. Why? When asked to present a
problem and a solution, what bigger a problem and easier a solution than the underrated concern of
childhood obesity in the United States. Childhood obesity is a serious, life threatening and growing
medical concern in the U.S. today which can be prevented by educating parents, and implementing

Seeing a child who is overweight may not seem like a big concern to some, but the future
consequences can be deadly. Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine state that, children
and adolescents who are obese are likely to be obese as adults and are therefore more at risk for
adult health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, several types of cancer, and
osteoarthritis. Children who are obese are more likely to grow up to be obese as adults resulting
in long term health effects (3). It seems the rise of obesity is going to be a great concern for
healthcare professionals in the future. These statistics provide the obvious clue to the pattern of
an uphill run of childhood obesity without a break in sight. This condition is a solemn concern,
yet thankfully it can be simply understood and managed. Understanding obesity is as simple as
basic addition. Being overweight or obese is result of a caloric imbalance. This occurs when there
are too many calories consumed compared to the ones being burned. The Dietary Guidelines for
Americans 2010 recommends that a boy about 12 years of age should get between 1,400 and 1,600
calories per day if they are sedentary; 1,600 to 2,000 calories per day if they are moderately active;
and 1,800 and 2,200 if they are active (2). The calories in four KFC extra crispy chicken strips and

Calcific or Degenerative Aortic Valve Disease
AORTIC STENOSIS
Calcific or degenerative aortic valve disease is considered one of the most, if not the most,
common valvular lesion encountered among elderly patients.( Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG,
et al.) In fact, as shown in the Helsinki Aging Study, 501 randomly selected people, men and
women, in an age range from 75 to 86 underwent echocardiography. (Iivanainen AM, Lindroos
M, Tilvis R, et al) The outcome of the research was that, the prevalence of critical aortic stenosis
increased with age from 1 to 2 percent in those patients aged between 75 and 76, up to almost 6
percent in those 86 years of age (Lindroos M, Kupari M, Heikkilä J, Tilvis R.)
The risk factors associated with the development of calcific aortic stenosis in elderly adults are
similar to those for atherosclerosis. Some examples of significant risk factors for the degeneration
of aortic valve disease can be the age of the patient, the gender, current cigarette smoking,
hypertension, high serum concentrations of lipoprotein(a) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol.
(Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG, et al.)
The two most common causes of aortic stenosis severe enough to require surgery are
calcification of congenital bicuspid aortic valves and degenerative calcification of tricuspid aortic
valves (Roberts WC, Ko JM. ) Aortic valve calcification, scored by computed tomography (CT),
can be helpful in diagnosis of severe aortic stenosis in the patient. (Marincheva Savcheva G,
Subramanian S, Qadir S, et al.)

Chemistry of LSD and Route of Access Essay
Chemistry of LSD and Route of Access
Classification
Pharmacologically, the commonly abused hallucinogenic substances may be divided into two major
groups. The indolealkylamines, including d lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), psilocybin, and
dimethyltryptamine (DMT) bear a structural resemblance to the neurotransmitter 5
hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). The phenylethylamines, including mescaline and the
phenylisopropylamines such as 2, 5 dimethoxy 4 methylamphetamine
(DOM, STP ), are structurally related to dopamine, norepinephrine, and the amphetamines
(Gelenberg, Bassuk,

The plasma half life of LSD is 2 to 3 hrs. It is metabolized into nonhallucinogenic substances,
primarily by conjugation of the liver (Gelenberg, Bassuk, Schoonover 1991). Within the brain,
the highest levels of LSD are in the visual system, especially within a part called the lateral
geniculate nucleus, or LGN. LSD decreases the response of the LGN, which acts a visual relay
center. The LGN receives nerve impulses from the retina and sends them to the occipital cortex of
the brain, an area also known as the visual cortex. LSD acts to decrease the responsiveness of the
LGN to signals from the retina. How this effects the production of visual hallucinations is unclear
LSD is also concentrated highly in parts of the limbic system.
The limbic system is dedicated to regulating emotion, aggression, docility, and memory.
Also, LSD concentrates in areas of the reticular formation. The reticular formation mediates the
level of arousal and alertness in the brain. It begins in the medulla, and runs up through the brain
stem into the forebrain. The textbook authors call it the volume dial of consciousness (Strang, 2004).
Because of its extreme potency, only minuscule amounts can be detected in urine. Thus,
conventional urine screening tests are inadequate to detect LSD. When the use of LSD is
suspected, urine is

Why I Am A Teacher Essay
Dream Big I clearly remember the day my mother brought home a small wooden desk for me. I
cherish that desk so much because not only did I use it to do my homework, but I also used to play
school . Even though I was very young, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. So the years went by and I
was now a senior in high schooland so close to achieving my goal of being a teacher. I knew
attending collegewould be difficult, my parents, older sister, and I had no clue where to begin, or
if it was even possible for me to attend. My parents saw my desire to go, but their inability to
speak English and not knowing the process to take when entering college did not allow them to
be much help. So I started researching and visiting my counselor. My counselor offered me
information and guided me through each step of the way. I come from an enormous family, I
have a total of 15 aunts and uncles and they have multiple children, and I am proud to say that I
was the first one in my entire family to attend college. I would commute daily and had a part time
job to help my parents pay my way to college, so it was very difficult and tiring. The reason I
commuted was because as a Latino I am very family oriented, so I want to be close to my family
and save. I also had a job, with my job I would help my parents pay for my books, gas, and my
car payment. Even though semester after semester I was always at risk of not returning because of
the cost of tuition, I was able to finish in exactly four

K Naan Immigrants
What do we Americans know about immigrants and their place in the United States? When I think
about this subject, I remember these lines from K naan s feature song titled, Immigrants, (We Get

crossing a border with thrifty supplies. All you got to do is see the world with new eyes. The
Somali Canadian poet K naan, sends a message signaling to American people that despite multi
cultural influences, the collective American culture lives and breathes on ancient, unfounded
societal ideals. As an American born descendant of Canadian immigrants, I am certain that I am not

Given this, the management team made the decision to undertake a review of the cash recovery
process itself with a view to developing a new strategy which would speed up cash collections.
The process review was commenced by management in September 2012. By January 2013
however it became clear to the management team that although they had an idea of what they
wanted to achieve, and the issues they believed were preventing this, they were not equipped to
complete the process review themselves. At this time I was approached by them and retained as a
consultant with a view to not only completing a full process review and implementation, but also to
ensure that the process put in place was scalable for the increasing business they were expecting to
take on over the coming 24 months.
It was clear from my analysis of the initial XXXXXXXXXXXXX process design (what little of it

were looking to achieve or felt would be reasonable before they designed the initial process. The
process itself was decided on by a few members of the senior management team in isolation

  • 3. Weathering And Erosion Of Soft Rocks Soft rocks are very important geomaterials since they are heavily used in construction for example, buildings, road and dams but they sometimes seem to cause some problems due to their sedimentary properties like fast weathering and low strength. Weathering is a process in which rock break down or dissolve with the help of natural agents. Weatheringand erosionare constantly changing the earth s surface, so that has a big impact on construction and usage of soft rocks over time. Weathering can be either mechanical or chemical. Some regions in the world mainly possess weak sedimentary rocks and very low in other stronger rocklike igneous or metamorphic. Because of the these weak characteristics, it might be tough to use soft rocks especially since some methods and systems are made mainly for hard rocks. These issues that we are dealing with lead to the need of the understanding of soft rocks, how they work and how to prevent them from breaking up and crumbling in order to maximize their usage. Weathering and Erosion Weathering is the process where rocks and minerals break down or dissolve into smaller pieces and fragments. Erosion is then the transportation of weathering remains. This is done with the help of natural agents such as water, wind, animals..etc. It all depends on the composition of the rock, different agents such as temperature change and rainfall amount. To catch an action, an image, or an emotion by film is truly a special gift and one which most people take for granted. For an image to capture a moment that simultaneously speaks for one person, a nation, and a cause is really worth a thousand words as Neil Postman puts it (515), even a million. It is irreplaceable by anything other than understanding, appreciation, and wonder. Three memorable photographs that embody these assets are those of five members of the British Royal Family walking behind Princess Diana s coffin, Neil Armstrong s first steps on the moon, and American soldiers raising the flag atop a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yet perhaps the most moving expressions were on the faces of Princess Diana s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, whose beloved mother was suddenly taken from them a few short days before. It is clear that the shock seemed almost unbearable to these young boys who were now lost because the center of their world, their mother, was dead. People around the world were able to share the pain and sadness of the members of Princess Diana s family through their expressions, unequivocally portrayed by that one photograph. Furthermore, in his article By Means of the Visible : A Picture s Worth, Mitchell Stephens explains what makes pictures so powerful in conveying emotion by stating, [. . . ] words [ . . .] must work hard to tell us what a glance could about the expression on that face (481). In addition to showing the feelings of the British Royal Family, this photograph is a symbol that shows the world that, while Princess Diana is dead physically, she will forever be alive in the memories of her people. Her impact on society will never be forgotten and neither will the courage and strength in the faces of those men that touched the hearts of so many people. A second memorable picture is that of Neil Armstrong s first steps on the moon in July 1969, which is remembered as a celebrated image that represents the power, not only of America but of the whole human race, to conquer space. Kennedy gave a rhetorically sound speech at Rice University in Houston, Texas with the intent to rally American support for his space exploration proposition. Kennedy had proposed his plan to congress a couple months before and this speech was his call to the American people to stand behind him. While the speech is remembered for its famous line, We choose to go to the moon, it was a carefully constructed piece of rhetoric. Kennedy s immediate audience extends beyond the people that were in Rice Stadium that day. Kennedy first conveys America s scientific position by stating, Despite the striking fact that most of the scientists that the world has ever known are alive and working today... the unanswered and the unfinished still far outstrip our collective comprehension. While the first sentence could have been worded better to express that there are more scientists active than ever before, this section of the speech conveys that America has many unanswered questions, but it also has the scientific manpower to answer these questions in order to make space travel a reality. As Kennedy progresses, he condenses human history into a 50 year timespan with an emphasis on scientific advancements in order to give the audience perspective by establishing where humankind has been. • 8. Summary Of The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao In The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz the author uses the trick of different stories to sew together a series of experiences to create the full story of Oscar s life. There are many important pieces in the book that help create an understanding of how Oscar came to be Oscar. One example is the experiences of his family members while they lived in Santo Domingo, such as La Inca deciding to go find Beli and also when Beli fell in love with the Gangster. The influence of the sci fi world has also had a massive effect on Oscar, since he had no real examples of a healthy relationship he was under the impression that all relationships had to be like the one s he saw in movies. Overall the influence of his mother s past and the influence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A turning point in Oscars future was when La Inca went to find Beli and save her from the family who locked her in a chicken coop. That was incredibly important because if La Inca hadn t gone and got Beli then Beli wouldn t have had to flee to America and Oscar wouldn t have been born at all. Diaz chose specific points in the book to tell the story of Beli while also telling the story of Oscar to show how Beli s life influenced Oscar. The use of Yunior as a narrator in this story is unique but it provides the reader with a bird s eye view of Beli s past and lets the reader see how it changed Oscar. Yunior s role shows the reader stories of people s past that we wouldn t otherwise have known if Yunior or Oscar had told the story from a first person point of view. Another example of a story that would have been unknown to the reader is when Beli fell in love with the Gangster, and it eventually led to her having to leave Santo Domingo to go to America where she would be safe. If she had not fell for the gangster then she most likely wouldn t have left and wouldn t have met Oscar s father in New York. If she hadn t left then Oscar would have grown up in Santo Domingo rather than New Jersey, and Oscar s worldview would have changed drastically. Diaz introduced the story of Beli growing up in Santo Domingo to show the difference between growing up there versus Paterson. The people that came before Oscar changed many aspects of his life and where he grew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Copernicus was born on February 19th, 1473. He was the son of Nicolaus Copernicus who was a merchant, and Barbara Watzenrode who was the daughter of a merchant family. After his father died in 1483, he was taken in by his uncle. Copernicus later enrolled in the University of Cracow and assumed an administrative position just below that of bishop. The geocentric model showed the Earth being the center of the universe and the rest of the planets revolving around it. This idea was introduced by Ptolemy to explain how the planets moved. However, the geocentric model did not follow Aristotle s requirement for the uniform circular motion of planets. Copernicus then thought he could follow this requirement by using a heliocentric model of the universe where the distances

This inhibition at low concentrations prevented bone denigration and kept a healthy proliferation rate of bone cells. This process was tracked with F ALN to demonstrate that ALN was taken into cells from cell surface into bone marrows in the replanted teeth and into osteoblastic cells in vitro. Local ALN treatment enhanced the growth of bone forming cells adjacent to the bone surfaces in the in vivo model. Results were consistently affirming that N BPs can directly affect the osteoblast growth and proliferation. This study found that 3 day treatment using rat osteoblastic cells with ALN at an early differentiation stage induced upregulation of osteocalcin expression and mineralization and a later differentiation stage. Treatment with high ALN concentrations caused harmful effects with decreased cell viability and inhibition of cell differentiation. Bone formation may be mediated directly by incorporation of ALN through inhibition of mevalonate pathway. N BP s have been used to treat systemic bone metabolic disorders. The local application of N BP s /ALN can be useful for local bone augmentation. As academics and philosophers who hold high rank in the social system of ancient Greece, these men are praised for their wisdom and eloquence. One such philosopher, Pausanias, gives a speech early in the text that addresses desire as a multifaceted concept, setting the tone for the novel. The Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Indian text that is much revered in modern Hindu culture, considers the same concepts of desire and virtue, but is written as a dialogue between the warrior prince Arjuna and his charioteer, the deity Krishna. Therefore, for Pausanias, desire of such worldly and mortal objects is a manifestation of an inferior type of love. Of the man who succumbs to this love, Pausanias says, He is not constant, because he loves something that is not constant: as soon as the bloom of the body fades, which is what attracted him, he flies away and is gone , bringing disgrace on all he said and promised, (Plato 16). The fickle nature of worldly desire is illuminated by the flower metaphor Pausanias uses; the beauty of a flower, the bloom, is akin to the superficiality of earthly desire, and neither is the foundation of lasting love. Physical desire and the resulting attachment to the material world cause disgrace for the soul who delights in such cravings. While Pausanias warns against over attachment to physical objects in The Symposium, the deity Krishna completely condemns the material world in The Bhagavad Gita. For Krishna, desire of sensuous objects is the root of evil, trapping the soul and bringing it harm.Concerned only with these sensuous object, Arjuna is rebuked on the battlefield by Krishna, who says, Contacts with matter make us feel heat and cold, pleasure and pain. • 15. Feminism Is A Conflict Theory In this essay it will assess to what extent feminism has added to our understanding of society. Firstly, Feminism is a conflict theory that believes that all religions are instruments set up by men to oppress women with the set of beliefs and practices. There are many different branches of feminism; the ones being evaluated are called Liberal, Radical and Marxist feminists. Feminists believe that society is malestream and not mainstream as people believe. The first main flaw in feminist theory is the fact that feminists only examine society from the viewpoint of women, they do this because they believe they are in fact helping fight against the oppression of women but the problem is that they do not examine the views of many male counterparts and therefore cannot help us completely understand our society. The main differentiation between the different feminist theories is the way that the oppression against women is caused. Firstly, Liberal feminist are focused on human and civil rights and freedom of individuals, to summarise, they believe that all humans should have equal rights within their society. They believe that society changing itself to help women does not happen. Liberal feminists believe the status of women changing can become a reality if laws that are oppressing for women change because it would create more opportunities for women to prove that they are equal to men. Whether due to similarities or differences in personality or circumstances in life, mothers and daughters can be close confidants or fierce foes. These familial relationships have been studied in part by Marianne Hirsch and Sharon M. Varallo in their essays on the familial gaze and the genre of family photographs, respectively. In this essay, I will be using the work previously done by Hirsch and Varallo to analyze two different motherdaughter relationships presented in the television show Gilmore Girls. Originally applied to the government of Agostino Depretis in the 1880s, transformismo quickly became equated with any ethically questionable, self interested actions taken by public officials purely for the sake of staying in office and maintaining power. This often manifested itself in the creation of a smoke screen of reformatory rhetoric intended to satisfy the electorate, without a subsequent introduction of any real reforms. The colonialist manner in which Piedmont annexed the other regions to create a united Italy during the Risorgimento and the divisions inherent in the new kingdom resulted in a historical compromise that made any deliberate social change very difficult. Consequently, Italianleaders of the destra storica and sinistra storica (the first two eras of Italian political history) shifted their focus from meaningful governance to the practice of transformismo, permanently shaping the face of Italian political life. The prevailing motto of this practice was captured perfectly in a line from Luchino Visconti s 1963 film, The Leopard: Things must change in order to stay the same. Since Brutus wife, Portia, was the daughter of the successful leader Cato, she was a very powerful Roman. But, they still were treated far from equals of their superior, their husbands. As wives of these specific Romans, they were treated with much higher respect than most women were at that time. Portia as an individual was described as pure in nature, youthful, and very beautiful. These regulations set by the government are intended to protect the citizens from greedy lenders by setting a maximum rate of interest, above which it is illegal to lend money. Lenders charge higher rates of interest to compensate for the amount of risk that can be associated with the transaction, risk being the likely hood of not getting paid in full. Once a usury law is put in effect there becomes a maximum rate at which the lender can lend money. With this maximum rate of interest some potential borrowers will be assumed too risky because it is not legal to charge the rate of interest to compensate the risk associated with lending. This leads to a smaller amount of money available to borrow from legitimate lenders, so often a borrower will turn to a black market lender who will illegally lend them money at a higher rate of interest. Often times the black market lender will use forms of persuasion such as bodily harm to the borrower and their family to ensure repayment. This clearly is more dangerous than high interest rates. Fair value is the market value of a firm s assets and ignores any special benefits of the assets to the business resulting from competencies such as man management skills as well as any transaction costs (Hitz, 2007). Therefore a fair value measurement is market based rather than entity specific and it represents unbiased measurements that are consistent from period to period and across entities (Penman, S. Fair Value measurements also have the property of objectivity as it is non entity specific and reflects the market s valuation as compared to entity specific measurements which are subject to managerial judgments (Whittington, 2010). Entity specific measurements account for intangibles such as business competencies and managerial know how, which gets reflected in the financial statements irrespective of whether they have been demonstrated or not. Using fair value limits today s profit recognition to amounts market participants would assess, and leaves to the future the recognition of profit associated with management skill and synergies (Barth, 2010). Polymers are made up of smaller repeating units called monomers, the monomers of proteins are called amino acids. Molecular Structure of an Amino Acid The structure of an amino acid consists of an amino group (NH2) and a carboxyl acid group (COOH) bonded to a central carbon atom (C) with a hydrogen atom (H) and a side chain (R) which is variable. There are twenty different types of amino acids of which eight are essential to the human body. All amino acids include the the above basic structure, it is only the variable side chain (R) that differs in each of the amino acids. It is this different arrangement of atoms on the side chain that makes each amino acid unique. The smallest amino acid found in proteins is glycine, in which the side chain consists of just a single hydrogen atom (The Biology Project, 2003). To make proteins, amino acids must be bonded together into chains. The bond is called a peptide bond and is formed by condensation reaction. • 53. Why I Am A Teacher Essay Dream Big I clearly remember the day my mother brought home a small wooden desk for me. I cherish that desk so much because not only did I use it to do my homework, but I also used to play school . Even though I was very young, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. So the years went by and I was now a senior in high schooland so close to achieving my goal of being a teacher. I knew attending collegewould be difficult, my parents, older sister, and I had no clue where to begin, or if it was even possible for me to attend. My parents saw my desire to go, but their inability to speak English and not knowing the process to take when entering college did not allow them to be much help. So I started researching and visiting my counselor. My counselor offered me information and guided me through each step of the way. I come from an enormous family, I have a total of 15 aunts and uncles and they have multiple children, and I am proud to say that I was the first one in my entire family to attend college. I would commute daily and had a part time job to help my parents pay my way to college, so it was very difficult and tiring. The reason I commuted was because as a Latino I am very family oriented, so I want to be close to my family and save. I also had a job, with my job I would help my parents pay for my books, gas, and my car payment. Even though semester after semester I was always at risk of not returning because of the cost of tuition, I was able to finish in exactly four ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I think about this subject, I remember these lines from K naan s feature song titled, Immigrants, (We Get the Job Done) from the Hamilton Mix Tape: You can be an immigrant without risking your lives or crossing a border with thrifty supplies. All you got to do is see the world with new eyes. The Somali Canadian poet K naan, sends a message signaling to American people that despite multi cultural influences, the collective American culture lives and breathes on ancient, unfounded societal ideals. As an American born descendant of Canadian immigrants, I am certain that I am not alone in saying that my ancestors arrived here from somewhere, because so... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yezierska s short story, America and I, describes life for a young, female immigrant from Poland, the struggles faced in her homeland, hope for freedom in America and heartbreaking craving for an American identity. Known as Queen of the Ghetto, and The Immigrant Cinderella, Yezierska came to see America as an idea, a deathless hope a world still in the making (Yezierska 6). Attempting to build a bridge of understanding between American born and [herself] she continues, that her hopes during 1923, for the Americans of tomorrow [...] will be too wise, too open hearted, too friendly handed, to let the least lastcomer at their gates knock in vain with gifts unwanted (Yezierska 7). Given this, the management team made the decision to undertake a review of the cash recovery process itself with a view to developing a new strategy which would speed up cash collections. The process review was commenced by management in September 2012. By January 2013 however it became clear to the management team that although they had an idea of what they wanted to achieve, and the issues they believed were preventing this, they were not equipped to complete the process review themselves. At this time I was approached by them and retained as a consultant with a view to not only completing a full process review and implementation, but also to ensure that the process put in place was scalable for the increasing business they were expecting to take on over the coming 24 months. It was clear from my analysis of the initial XXXXXXXXXXXXX process design (what little of it their was) that little thought or analysis was carried out into the market generally or what they were looking to achieve or felt would be reasonable before they designed the initial process. The process itself was decided on by a few members of the senior management team in isolation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
