2. Expository Writing
An expository essay explains or analyzes a
topic.
Expository essays can describe personal
experiences, as well. For example, you might
describe the impact of music on your life.
3. Your expository essay will include several
paragraphs:
Introduction
supporting paragraphs (body)
conclusion
4. Introduction:
Consists of a topic sentence and a thesis
statement.
The topic sentence will introduce the topic of
your essay.
The thesis statement is the main idea that
controls your essay.
6. Conclusion:
Restates the topic and thesis from the
introduction in a different way.
Choose synonyms and different sentence
structure to restate the topic and your thesis.
This will avoid repetition.
7. PROMT: Effects of Technology
Technology and the changes it brings can have
a very big effect on our lives. Which
technological change has had the largest effect
on life in this country? Why?
Write an essay explaining the technology you
have chosen and how it has affected our lives.
