The Contribution Of Cockroaches
The contribution of cockroaches in the ecosystem.
What will happen if there were no cockroaches?
Cockroaches are one of the ancient species, it begins to be found from the Carboniferous period,
about 320 million years ago [1]. It belongs to the group of Blattodea, undering the category of
Inseacta. Most of us has seen cockroaches, we often see them hiding inside the dark and humid
place in our home, including the kitchen, toilet or the gutter. Every time we see them, we would
never be nice to them, killing them as fast as we could, we may ever hope they could become
extinct. However, have we thought about the their benefits and contribution to the world? In this
essay, the importance of cockroaches will be discussed by focusing their contribution in ... Show

Social Justice And Social Injustice
What is social justice? From my perspective, social justice is the enlightened human concern for
people of all backgrounds. It is the respect and endearment for people no matter their race, gender,
sexuality, religion, or socioeconomic class. Social justice has, in a way, affected my life
experience. Social justicehasn t directly impacted my life experience, but I have learned about
many cases of injustice throughout my years. Learning about these events and social justice makes
me think about current events in a different light. I know see how an event might affect not only
myself, but all types of people as well. Learning about social injustices throughout my first semester
at CSB/SJU such as apartheid in South Africa and the lost boys of... Show more content on

The Lost Boys, for example, had no choice but to run away and seek refuge to avoid their deaths.
The Lost Boys struggled for months at a time until the United States was able to accept them
into the country. This community in Saint Cloud is just like the Lost Boys of South Sudan.
They may seem intimidating to locals because of their lack of knowledge of those cultures, but
they are seeking refuge to our country for a reason. They are coming here for safety and to begin
a new life in a great country. They are here to be functioning members of a new society and to
share their culture with ours. They are not here to hurt us, nor are they here to steal our jobs or
money. They are here to be Americans that don t have to worry about their lives being in
jeopardy every day of the week. They are here to be one of us. Without learning about social
justice, I wouldn t have seen this issue like this. I would have been listened to the accusations
made by those who are fearful. Enlightening myself with the knowledge of social justice has
helped me see the struggles that people of a different race, gender, sexuality, religion, or
socioeconomic class face. I believe that giving these people a chance to tell their story and to let
them in with open arms is what social justice is. Everyone on this Earth deserves a chance be heard
and a chance to be accepted. Even though stereotypes and

Hatchet Wild Quotes
Have you ever wondered what you could learn if you needed to survive in the Wild? Well in the
book Hatchet, Brian already answered that for himself when he crash landed in the wild and
survived in the wild. He shows what he has learned and how he has changed in chapter 11, when
he realizes that his hearing and seeing has increased since living in the wild and in chapter 16,
when he shows that he has learned to manage his food in order to survive in the wild. And the
upcoming paragraphs are about how the things that Brian learned helped him through surviving in
the wild. For the first skill ,I am going to talk about, that Brian has learned is in Chapter 11, the
text states, But perhaps more than his body was the change in his mind, or in

Clergy Hierarchy
Christianity, like many other religions, incorporates a level of hierarchy into the religion. The
Christian hierarchy found and largely accepted by Christians involves God being on top, followed
by Jesus, his disciples, the clergy, and lastly, the general Christian population. This hierarchy comes
from the belief that Jesus came to his disciples after his resurrection, gave them their authority and a
message to spread his message, who in turn gave authority to the clergy. By the nature of
Christianity, God is placed above Jesus, while the general Christian population is placed in the
lowest rung of this hierarchy. Though the Clergy have been the predominant form of authority in
Christianity and within their communities, they have never been... Show more content on

Considering that the Catholic and Orthodox sects of Christianity believe that Jesus gave authority
to his disciples, who then gave authority to the clergy, any notion or belief that the mystics are more
authoritative than the clergy by virtue of them communicate with God is nullified and rendered
void. Despite specific sects, and the clergy within those sects, do not accept the authority of
mystics, the general authority lies within the community in such a way that people within the
community can choose who is more authoritative. Consequently, though the mystics do not have a
stronger claim to authority, there are communities where mystics hold a higher position of authority

The Bureaucratic System Of Public Administration
Introduction How Kristin Died is a prime example of one of the many issues inherent within the
bureaucratic system and the misfortunes that can stem from it. This case forever changed the lives
of those involved and unfortunately resulted in the death of Kristin Lardner, a 21 year old college
student, at the hands of Michael Cartier, her estranged boyfriend. It is important to public
administration because public administration contains many issues of hierarchy and redundancy.
Public administration also has the power to mold the environments where it is present in many
ways. This case is strongly related to organizational theory, the relationship organizations have with
the environment and how individuals behave within. When presented, the information within the
case surrounding the details of Kristin s death proves that had the bureaucracies involved taken the
necessary preventative measures, this tragedy may not have occurred. The main individuals of this
case include: Kristin Lardner, Michael Cartier, Tom Case and Rose Ryan. Although others were
involved, these individuals had the most influence within the case. Although Lardner was originally
from Washington, DC, this event takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, where she attends college
in the early 1990 s. History Cartier showed signs of trouble very early on. As a child it is stated
that he would light matches behind a gas stove, and even mutilated his pet rabbit. Due to these acts,

Essay Making Management Decisions
Making Management Decisions
ASSIGNMENT 1
Lewandowska Santhirasekaran
1.Principles of business planning and decision making
Decision Making is A commitment to action (Mintzberg, H., 1983, p. 188) ; Management decisions
are made for a lot of different reasons, mainly because decision making is a fundamental aspect of
the management functions and management decision making which makes it a key management
role. (M. Teale, V.Dispenza, J. Flynn, D.Currie, 2003, p. 10) (D. Boddy, 2008, p. 209)
Now a day s making management decisions has become more and more difficult, they need to be
made more and more quickly; have to be made in increasingly complex and unpredictable situations.

According to the situation the LiveShows Ltd is at now, all of the decisions will be programmed , it
can be assumed that once programmed decision has been made, then the consequences will be
known. These decisions are normally characterised by a known set of objectives, and can lend
themselves to programmed decision making methods. Management science offers tools and
methodologies that enable the organisations to deal with managerial problems. It deals with
collection, interpretation and presentation of data; however it is important to remember and
understand the limitations, assumptions and specific applicability of the methods in question. (M.
Teale, V.Dispenza, J. Flynn, D.Currie, 2003, pp. 228, 229)
The decisions are based on business objectives and context; decision making types can also divide
into three, depending on how much the decision made will affect the business in terms of time and
direction; these include:
Strategic Decisions long term decisions that affect the direction of the business
Tactical Decisions medium term decisions based around how to implement a strategy
Operational Decisions short term decisions, also known as administrative decisions about how to
implement the tactics. (T. Hannagan, 2008, p. 425)

Lord Of The Flies Asch Conformity Experiment
In Lord Of The Flies the boys are faced with a choice of who to follow such as in the Asch
Conformity Experiment when they were faced with the challenge of being different and choosing
what they thought was right. The Lord Of The Flies shows how when faced to make a choice the
main factor that will sway the decision is surrounding peers. In the Asch ConformityExperiment the
test subjects were asked to match a certain line length with one of three choices. Asch had told all
but one subject what line to choose and when the one subject that had not been told what choice
to choose most all the time picked the same line as the others. The times that the subject picked
the right answer was when there was another subject that was told to pick the right choice this
made the subject feel as he was not alone. When the boys in Lord Of The Flies are alone on a
decision that they have chosen they decide to follow the crowd that has the most followers not
caring about the consequences of their choices; such as in the Asch Conformity Experiment when
the subjects choose the wrong line so they will not be different.... Show more content on

percent success in showing that humans will make decisions so that they will not feel different.

same choice as them because they will have someone to be with. The experiment mainly showed
that people will make decisions based on what others say that way they will not feel alone and

A Smiling Buddhist Monk
The historical work I have chosen is called A smiling Buddhist Monk , more commonly known
as Laughing Buddha . The sculpture is from the Henan province, located in northern China,
made in the Ming dynasty, dated AD 1486. The artist of this work is unknown as it is from this
era but the sculptor may have been a Buddhist monk. Manually constructed and carved from
Stoneware, this Buddha is glazed in the sancai palette, meaning created from a colour scheme
based of three colours. The modern work I have chosen is called Our Gods , created by Liu
Xiaoxian in 2000, a Chinese Australian born in 1963. His work is an altered and edited
photograph compiling of two pieces; Buddha created from 22,500 miniscule figures of Christ, and
Christ created from 22,500 figures of Buddha. The contemporary work, Our Gods is based off the
historical work Laughing Buddha , as it incorporates the image of the Buddha into its work,

Figurative Language Versus Literal Language
The English language is known as being one of the most difficult languages to learn. There are
many reasons for this, a major factor being the use of figurative language. Since the English
language is packed with figures of speech is can be very confusing to truly comprehend what
someone is trying to get across. This doesn t just go for the new comers to the English language
but also to native English speakers. Throughout this paper I will define and give examples for ten
different types of figurative language while providing appropriate usage. These types of figurative
language include idiom, analogy, metaphor, simile, clichГ©, amphiboly, fame word, hyperbole,
euphemism, and lastly colloquialism.
Idiom
Idioms are words or phrases that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This figure of speech is an expression of how if you re in a bad situation, make the best of it like
lemons into lemonade. Since clichГ©s are used so frequently they lose their effectiveness. It is as
the clichГ©s go in one ear and right out the other because we are used to hearing them too often.
Amphiboly
Amphiboly is a misleading notion on someone s original words structured to confuse or mislead
and audience ( Dictionary.com, 2012). Many candidates during elections use this figurative
language in order to misrepresent their competitor resulting in more votes for them. For
example Sarah says I believe that lowers taxes. It s the best thing to do for our economy right
now . If Tom was talking about raises taxes he could still state that Sarah said It s the best thing
to do for our economy right now . In actuality Sarah wants to lower the taxes, Tom uses
Amphibology in order to mislead others about her actually meaning behind her words. Amphiboly
can be extremely confusing especially if you don t know what the person originally said. It is
very easy to be gullible in this situation. It is best to always do research and check each statement
someone said to be sure of their meaning behind their words.
Flame word
Flame words are emotional words that are able get under someone s skin in a negative way. These
words will trigger a reaction from people. For example, calling someone fat instead of calling them
obese. Fat is considered a flame word

Torres Strait Islanders Stereotypes
пѓјThe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have had many impacts on their culture since
European settlement in Australia. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders were seen to be
savages with no civilisation and as such Australia was seen as Terra Nullius . With European
settlement Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders saw a loss of their land and culture, labour
exploitation, introduced diseases, change of diet and a loss in their rights as a citizen and as a
human being. Many laws and policies were introduced which controlled an Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islanders life, many things for which we take for granted today. Things such as residence,
employment, marriage, social and daily life were all restricted. Most notably was the laws
introduced that allowed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to be forcibly removed from
their families.
пѓјMany Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have experienced trauma, loss, isolation and abuse
and because of this are quite hesitant to engage with services and interact with other cultures as
they are fearful of similar things occurring to them. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have

Hip-Hop Culture In The 1980 s

other than the music, and in Germany graffiti and breakdancing were very popular in the early
1980 s. From when hip hop started, 1980 s, to now there, like any other trend or culture, has a
difference in opinion through the generations. The article by Androutsopoulos and Scholz (2003)

spread of the rap culture hit Madrid, Spain, where it led to the commencement of the first

Voltaire s Candide As An Opportunity For Growth Or...
As humans, we have choices: To change, to stay the same, to work, to rest; each choice provides an
opportunity for growth or stagnation. Voltaire s Candide is a satire, originally published in 1759.
The enlightenment ideals which originated in the 17th century and continued into the 18th century
are highly prevalent in Candide. The work includes vehement criticism of nobility, philosophy,
religion, and basic human cruelty. The main criticism of Voltaire
s work is directed toward
philosophical optimism, a widely accepted idea at the time. Philosophical optimism is the
conviction that We live in the best of all possible worlds. Voltaire s writing is in line with the
philosophy stated in John Locke s Second Treatise of Civil Government on labor which is that
every man has a property in his own person: this nobody has any right to but himself. The labour
of his body, and the work of his hands, we may say, are properly his. Whatsoever then he
removes out of the state that nature hath provided, and left it in, he hath mixed his labour with,
and joined to it something that is his own, and thereby makes it his property, as Candide
encourages free will and labor in order to achieve a desired end. Voltaire s Candide employs the
motifs of resurrection, hypocrisy, and crime in order to amplify the negative aspects of human
nature, and in doing so, rejects the idea that we live in the best of all possible worlds and
encourages the exercise of free will as well as making the choice

Nazi Germany, The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria Essay
Imagine a country that is run by insane government officials with a military consisting of blood
crazed and psychopathic soldiers who conquer land by force and murders anyone that does not
agree with their values or beliefs. You might think that this thought could be the center of a
suspenseful film, but sadly this is a case that takes place right now in reality. One could compare
these actions to Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, or the Soviet Union but those countries are long gone
and are not committing such crimes today. Right now, at this moment, today s Nazi Germany is
the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, more commonly known as
ISIS , is the country that is committing war crimes, violating international law, and promotes rape
and sexual slavery today at this very moment. Therefore, I believe it is the United Statesduty and
moral obligation to launch a full scale military ground force to fight and eliminate all forces of the
Islamic State. People in the United States may wonder how the problems of genocide, rape, and

Essay On Mark Twain
Mark Twain once stated, Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness. This quote
should let us all know how much travel actually meant to him. In his life, he did a lot of traveling
and exploring. From a newspaper apprentice to a pilot Mark Twain lived a rather adventurous life .
First, most people think that your childhood can have a pleasant or unpleasant effect on your
adulthood. Mark Twain was born Samuel Clemens on November 30, 1835 in the frontier village
of Florida, Missouri ( Mark Twain Biography.com ). He spent his boyhood in nearby Hannibal,
on the bank of the Mississippi River, observing its busy life, fascinated by its romance, but
chilled by the violence and bloodshed it bred.(28 Cox) During his childhood he became exposed
to slavery, at one point he actually discovered a body of a drowned slave. At 12, Twain would
actually have to drop out of school due to the sudden death of his father John Clemens; he would
become a young apprentice ( MarkTwainBiograpgy.com ). Twain wasn t even a teen and basically
had to become the man of the house not by choice but basically by force, this more than likely
made Twain the hard worker that he was.
Next, one could say you should treat every job as if it is actually your career, as if you would be
doing it for the rest of your life. Mark Twain had several different jobs. He began work as an
apprentice then a compositor with local printers, contributing occasional squibs.(125 MacArthur) At

A Marketing Campaign
When it comes to your social media management and other online operations a consistent and
ongoing administration and observation of activity is crucial. This ensures your business even if
engaging and generating substantial interest at present remains well prepared for a sudden turn
in market interest or (even better) an opportunity upon which to grow and establish your base
further. This means regular check ins and a willingness to evaluate and adjust your content as
necessary. While some will say if it ain t broke, don t fix it in the world of social media
innovation and a consistent generation of new ideas is essential. Those who post the same sort of
photo again and again on their Instagram or post similar posts on their Facebook or Twitter
advertisingsales every week and month will soon find themselves losing an ongoing audience; and
finding little to no recurring engagement with their content due to familiarity and predictability.
Ongoing Continued with regular check ins to evaluate and adjust
Undoubtedly, one of the necessities of a marketing campaign is the consistent revision and
consideration of methods and techniques that are working; and methods and techniques that are
perhaps in need of adjustment. What this means in practice is drawing up a plan before you begin
to regularly revise and ensure that your targets are being met and being willing to look again at
what can be done if they are not. When it comes to content marketing this has a

ages. Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years, with diagnosis of celiac
disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The independent variables are the
four different brands of three gluten free products, and the dependent variable is the high
preference of appearance test. The children used the 5 point hedonic facial scale to evaluate the
different foods. The visual tests always showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the taste
liking rating. The taste test showed that children s anticipations were lower than expected. It is
important to make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the
food and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve been

Why I Hate High School
It s the first day of school and I already hate it. Why , why , why is high school even a thing. We
have too many classes, too little time to get to those classes and lockers. Oh those tin cans full
of books they are so hard to open I don t know how teachers expect us to open these lockers, get
our books, talk with friends, and go to the bathroom (if you need to ) and get to class early in just
two minutes. Also I have no friends and I don t know this school. I hate high schooland I will never

if we didn t stop excluding her, we asked her again what she meant and she said that at the
beginning of the year we were a group of friends, and that one day we excluded her.We told her that
we were sorry and that we could be friends again she accepted the offer and we became the best

On our senior year of high school Amber moved away and Hannah and I didn t hang out much

Over the summer I felt something weird it was like a strong force and each time I walked it
either got stronger or it got weaker, knowing something was up I walked towards the way that it

Mary Shelley s Use Of The Weather In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s use of the elements in Frankenstein aid in developing different moods experienced
throughout the novel. Habitually describing details of the existing weather, she is able to relate it
to the emotions of her characters. Whether the conditions are malevolent or delightful, she never
fails to help the reader recognize the indication of an emotion or incident that will soon occur in the
story.Rain is the foremost component of spring, the season of hope, renewal, and (emotional)
awakening. When the creature notices the amiable warmth and light showers that satisfy the earth,
it is almost as if his feelings go through photosynthesis; they are boosted instantaneously. Similar to
a rebirth, Shelley uses the fresh spring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows that meteorological conditions are able to affect a character s thoughts and alter their
feelings. As has been noted, Shelley accentuates the description of spring to express the hope and
renewal bestowed upon the creature by the exemplifications of the weather. It is common throughout
the novel that the existing weather reflects, and sharply influences, Victor s mood(s). For example,
the atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his tale and asks
Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text because much like these
inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and calloused when it comes to the
creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s
response, but to demonstrate the absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar
fashion, the pleasant weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt
ridden weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear skies
as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the waterfalls are effective
in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the power of the topography

The Role Of The Hero In Paradise Lost
Critics abroad have argued about who the hero is of John Milton s Paradise Lost: Satan, Adam
or Christ, the Son? Since Milton s overall theme stated in the opening lines of Book I is to relate
Man s first disobedience and to justify the ways of God to men , Adam must be regarded as the
main hero. John M. Steadman supports this view in an essay on Paradise Lost: It is Adam s action
which constitutes the argument of the epic. Steadman continues: The Son and Satan embody
heroic archetypes and that, through the interplay of the infernal and celestial strategies, Milton
represents Satan s plot against man and Christ s resolution to save him as heroic enterprises.
Christ and Satan are therefore epic machines. (268 272) Although Satan may be an epic
machine, he is best portrayed as the tragic anti hero of Paradise Lost or, at the very least, a main
character who possesses the stature and attributes which enable him to achieve tragic status. In
the Greek tradition, the essential components of tragedy are admiration, fear and pity for the
hero , who has to display a tragic weakness or flaw in his character, which will lead to his
downfall. It might be argued that the flaws in Satan s character are such that we should feel no
admiration, fear or pity for him, yet he can be seen to inspire these emotions. Satan s tragic flaws
are pointed out in Book I. They are envy, pride, and ambition towards self glorification. Satan s
pride, in particular, is stressed throughout

Literature Review Literature Review
Literature reviews can be of great benefit to social work practitioners. According to the Health
and Care Profession s Council s standards of proficiency for social workers, practitioners must be
able to engage in evidence informed practice (HCPC, 2017. p.11). This evidence includes
research knowledge (Webber, 2014). The requirement for practitioners to draw on knowledge
from developments in policy, practice and research is also reflected in the Professional
Capabilities Framework for Social workers in England (The British Association of Social Work,
2012). Exploring research papers can assist with this process but with the increasing amount of
published research reports, one can be overwhelmed by the amount of papers to digest and
consider its application (Aveyard, 2014). As a literature review gives a clear picture of all the
relevant literature on a specific topic, it proves a more convenient strategy for learning about the
current context regarding an area of interest. Furthermore, Webber explains that research evidence
is important for social work practice as it informs our knowledge on what works and does not
work for service users (2014). This suggests that practitioners should endeavour to stay up to date
with their knowledge of developments in social work as part of their professional development in
order to ensure they can practice effectively with service users.

Power In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s N
Additionally, Foucault suggests that the Panopticon can be controlled by anyone, because the
power does not lie in lies in not knowing who is in control, but how authority is able to
psychologically control people, which is not illuminated in Kesey s novel, since Nurse Ratched
makes all of the decisions in the ward herself. Foucault states that it doesn t matter who exercises
power. Any individual, taken almost at random, can operate this machine (321), meaning that one
who operates this machine will not abuse the power he is given. In contrast, Nurse Ratched is the
head nurse on the ward, and abuses her power over the patients every day. She controls their

He also influences others on the ward to think and act for themselves, especially when he finds out
that most of the Acutes are at the ward voluntarily, because they think they do not fit into everyday
society. The Panopticon, as Foucault states, is also [a] laboratory; it could be used as a machine to
carry out experiments, to alter behavior, to train or correct individuals (324). The people inside
the Panopticon are shaped, as Foucault believes, to return to society as respectful individuals.
However, when McMurphy enters the picture at the ward, he does not abide by Nurse Ratched s
rules. In one scene, when he wakes up early one day he is told that he isn t allowed to brush his
teeth yet, so naturally, he goes against the ward s orders: Can you imagine? Teeth bein brushed
at six thirty, six twenty who can tell? Maybe even six o clock...Well, I generally use paste, but
McMurphy runs his toothbrush down in the powder and swishes it around and pulls it out and
taps it on the side of the can but this will do fine for me (81). McMurphy still chooses to brush his
teeth when he decides, but substitutes the toothpaste for soap powder. He does this to show Nurse
Ratched that she is not the sole person in charge; at every turn he challenges her control. The ward

Viking History and Culture
Viking Culture Viking history and culture have been depicted in many movies, television series,
and stories. Vikings are commonly known as barbarians that raid villages and intimidate others
with huge ships with dragon heads, and horned helmets. This information is based on facts, but
has been distorted and exaggerated over many years and tales. Viking history spans from the
years 780 until 1100, which is the time span of the Viking raids. Not every Scandinavian was a
Viking; Vikings were known as the men that conducted raids and bloody battles. The old
definition of Viking was synonymous with the term pirate. The modern definition is relevant to
the Scandinavian medieval culture, to include farming, crafting and trading. The people from
the north, Norsemen, lived in villages and on dispersed farms in various regions. The
Norwegian Vikings were from Iceland and Ireland. The Danish Vikings were from France and
Britain. The Swedish Vikings were from Russia. Regardless of region, Vikings are addressed as
one group of people. Written documentation from this era, sagas specify the region of Vikings
being recorded. The Vikings government was unlike any other at that time. In fact, there was no
emperor, king, or lord. The only sagas found about Viking law were written late in the 10th century
in Iceland. The people were governed by consensus, and legal issues were resolved by compromise
and negotiation. This doesn t mean that feuds didn t

Reflective Paper On Moral Responsibility
Reflective Paper Regarding Moral Responsibility of Rehabilitating Criminals
Dalia M Al Rubaye
Parkdale High School
Abstract
This paper is generally about the correlation between moral responsibility and rehabilitation. Moral
responsibility was examined in the context of criminals and ordinary people. What brings about a
crime, and what impels an individuals to commit an action that he realizes is wrong. Also, the
concept of rehabilitation and the way in which it is applied were examined to deliver a better
understanding of issues regarding criminals. Examining these concepts was the key used to depict
the moral responsibility, that s innate in people, and how it should be considered in rehabilitating
criminals.
Key words: Morality, self respect, conscience, rehabilitation
Moral Responsibility of Rehabilitating Criminals I am a person with very little knowledge
regarding criminology. Luckily, I ve acquired some knowledge from being a girl who loves to
read about philosophy. Linking between the morals I ve learned as a religious person and the
theories about the innate format of a human being presented by philosophers, I was able to initiate
my thinking process and organize my ideas. My ultimate goal was to get to the point where I m
able to decide whether the society and I are morally responsible of rehabilitating criminals or not.
Based on my trivial knowledge, I think that we, as individuals habitating the same community, are
morally responsible

Hunnic Bow
The Huns were a nomadic tribe originating in the Caspian steppes potentially as early as the first
century A.D. It is likely that they stem from the Hsiung nu. They were incredibly successful
conquerors, and the Hunnic bow is an integral part of what made the Huns so successful. The
expert craftsmanship and the perfected design allowed the Hunsto produce the best bows in the
world. The Huns lived in Eastern Europe and because they are nomads they did not have
agriculture. They relied on herding to a certain extent, but trade, raiding, and exacting tribute were
also incredibly important to the Hunnic economy. At least two of those things require the Huns to
be a powerful fighting force. The Huns did fight with axes and swords and such, but... Show more

The innovation was in how the Huns redesigned the bow. The Hunnic war bow was a compound
bow which was reflexed , meaning that when unstrung it would actually curve in the opposite
way it was intended to be used. The process for making these bows is incredibly complex. First
horn from the Hungarian Grey Steer was cut into strips and filed smooth. It was then submerged
in boiling water and it slowly straightened as it softened (the softening was not permanent; it only
persists while the horn was being boiled) in the water. The now flat strips of horn were then filed
down to their final thickness. A wood was selected for the core (of the bow limbs) and dried. The
horn was then glued to the back of the wood and the limbs were glued to the handle. The ears
(the part that curves backwards) were then carved (usually out of spruce because it is light and
stiff) and glued to the end of the bow at roughly a forty five degree angle. The bow was then
backed with layers of sinews (often deer leg tendons). Sometimes the joints between the ears and
the limbs and the limbs and the handle were also bound with hide. Then the seven bone plaques
are cut into rough trapezoids to match the contours of the bow and glued into place. Then the
process of tuning the bow begins. Each part of the bow is heated and slowly curved until the
entire bow is uniform. All told it can take years to properly make and tune a Hunnic bow if you
include the time to cure the wood, sinews, and glue. The two greatest differences between the
Hunnic bow and other compound bows are the asymmetry of the arms and the bone stiffeners in
the ears and handle. The bone plates are trapezoidal to better fit together along the contours of the
bow, and they were deliberately scratched and roughened to ensure the glue would hold. Glue for
these bows was often derived from the air bladder of a sturgeon although other glues could

Rocking Horse Winner
Being loved and cared for is what most people have grown up to know. Rocking Horse Winner
by DH Lawrence is about a little boy who wants to make his mother happy. Lawrence uses
money, the house, and the rocking horse as symbols to convey the theme that greed destroys
happiness. To start off, money symbolises happiness for a person. In the story it is said, There
must be more money! There must be more money! to make it be known that they need more
money constantly. It also tries to say that luck is all you need and that it is better to be born
lucky than rich . If you re rich you may lose your money. But if you re lucky you ll always get
more money (Gillett). The luck will always be with you. The story breaks down to the ones who
think puts love with money and luck with happiness . Paul s mom thinks that money will make her
happy though it has not yet. Paul, who learns from his motherto associate love with money,
represents the desperate search for values in a cash culture. The force of Lawrence s satire is
directed at a society that is dominated by a quest for cash, and at those who buy into the deadly
equation of love equals money (Piedmont Marton). When he felt that he made his mother happy,

A New Alliance For A Future North American Union
The three relatively unpopular governments presently enthroned in Washington, Ottawa and
Mexico City, joined in very large companies, most of them American, to establish the foundation for
a future North American Union. This is a new alliance of permanent type within which the
Americans have a de facto predominant influence. It would force Canada and Mexicoto harmonize
many laws and regulations in the interests of the world of Big Business and those of US
administrations primarily concerned with their imperial ambitions and undemocratic worldwide. It
is obvious that such a continental thrust integration plan, both economically and politically, is
substantially different from the original idea of fair and free trade in goods and services, through
the abolition tariff and non tariff barriers between the countries of the hemisphere. This idea first
took shape with the free trade agreement of 1988 between Canada and the United States.
Subsequently, in 1994, Canada had to accept that Mexico is joining the North American Free Trade
Agreement, also forcing him to make substantial concessions on the application of the Investment
Canada Act, which governs foreign takeovers of Canadian companies, in addition to ensuring the
US privileged access to Canadian energy resources. All this should have been enough to open the
US market to Canadian companies. It seems, however, that this is not the case. Large corporations
and the US government want to use the pretext of fighting terrorism

The Philosophy Of Progressive Education
Progressive Education
Progressive Education refers to a pedagogical movement that started as a means to reform
traditional teaching methods. The approach in Progressive Education is a method of teaching that
recognises the value of self expression, flexible and informal classroom atmosphere and proper
attention for every student. It lays emphasis on learning through experience rather than memorising
facts without having clear understanding of certain concepts and literature. Progressive Education is
a result of the progressive thought of various 19th century educators who decided that there had to
be a better way of imparting knowledge and educating children. Some influential progressive
educators were John Dewey and William H. Kirkpatrick.
The primary philosophy behind Progressive Education is to build a system of education where a

Usually, such type of teaching is characterised by a rigid classroom atmosphere wherein the teacher
stands in the front of the classroom and teaches by delivering lectures. There is minimal scope for

students the flexibility and opportunity to question things, concepts and supports a method of
leaning where students are allowed to explore their capacities. It teaches them how to think about
certain things and question them, and not about what to think and passively accept as facts of life.
This type of teaching acknowledges the need for greater interest and depth of understanding.
Mistakes are considered opportunities to learn and evolve. Progressive Education rejects Normative

Foster care system was not in this world, then today billion of children would be homeless or

All throughout history you have many African American authors or writers who chose to write
stories about their lives. These stories are written in many different ways, and they gave us a true

during their lifetime. This transition of literature, or writings ranged from those who grew up on a
plantation having to live out their whole lives as a slaves to those who were free, but they lived
under the constriction of Jim Crow laws. Another transition that can be seen through writing is how
African Americans went from living under Jim Crow to where we are today; having it where

Corporate Finance Analyst Of The Investment Bank
Introduction:
The corporate finance analyst of the investment bank is required to compute the fair price of the
bond and to estimate the number of bond issuing. The computation is based on the yield to
maturity, which measures the return that an investor would expect to receive by holding a bond
until maturity.
The Yield Curve, also known as term structure of interest rate, is a commonly used financial tool
that tracks the relation between the yields and the time to maturity of a bond. Estimating the yield
on a non currently traded bond and identifying mispriced bonds are the purposes of using the yield
curve. It could, furthermore, be used to forecast future performance of the yield on a bond. (Harris,

Knowing that, the A rated bond, which was required to issue for the purpose of raising five
million dollars debt, had a coupon rate of 5.5%, a maturity of 15 years and one $1000 face value .
Results:
Considering the third order polynomial method with using the OLS regression, gave the values
of estimated parameters. (Table 1) Thus, the function of fitted yield curve, which estimated the
relationship between the yields and the time to maturity, could be determined. ( Fig. 2) Given
that the time to maturity of required issuing bond was 15 years, which could therefore gave the
yield of 5.005% according to the fitted yield curve function. Consequently, this would give the
bond price of $1051.748 and the number of bond that investment bank should issue to raise debt
was 4754. For a more precise estimation, the sub data set of the A rated bonds that had the
coupon rate ranging from 5% to 6% could be picked out and calculated with the same procedure
applied as before. This would then gave the the yield to maturity of 4.957%, bond price of
1056.979 and the number of issuing bond of 4730. (Table 2)

yields and maturities, however, the fitted trend is not capable enough to explain the variation in
bond yields perfectly. If the required issuing

Puerto Rican Identity and Spanish Colonial Rule Essay
Puerto Rican Identity and Spanish Colonial Rule
The debate on Puerto Rican Identity is a hot bed of controversy, especially in today s society where
American colonialism dominates most of the island s governmental and economic policies. The
country wrestles with the strong influence of its present day colonizers, while it adamantly tries to
retain aspects of the legacy of Spanish colonialism. Despite America s presence, Puerto Ricans
maintain what is arguably their own cultural identity which seems largely based on the influence of
Spain mixed with customs that might have developed locally.
The features of the formation of the Puerto Rican people under Spanish rule are therefore critical in

Puerto Rico s early economic development under Spanish rule was characterized by the creation of
settlements particularly in the interior of the island where the land was used for cattle rearing
and farming. (Figueroa lecture Sept. 98) By the late 1550 s to early 1600 s the meager
agricultural sector did not develop and therefore was not sustainable as there were not enough
contact with international traders. (Scarano, 4) The sector was also stifled by the royal trade
restriction that Spanish colonies could only trade with the mother land. Furthermore, most of the
Crown s attention was focused on the recently discovered gold and silver mines in Mexico and
Peru. Puerto Rico at this stage became some what of a frontier society at the margins of the Spanish
colonial empire. (Figueroa Sept. 98) While other Caribbean countries had experimented and had
began to develop their mass sugar cultivation, Puerto Rico, for the most part, remained a racially
mixed peasant society. (Scarano, 5) The influence of their neighboring islands was not far off, and
the introduction of African slaves along with the development of the sugar industry literally
changed the face of the Puerto Rican society.
During the 1700 s Puerto Rico, influenced by its Caribbean neighbors joined in the sugar plantation

Adaptation from one medium to another is a slippery slope that adapters have to be very cautious
of. Any form of misrepresentation of the characters, scenery plot can cause a film to plummet and

author. Would William Shakespeare
be satisfied with the many adaptations of his infamous play
Romeo Juliet? Or would Jane Austen be content with how well Keira Knightley portrayed the

He states a brief description and allows the reader to imagine the rest. Conan Doyle accentuates
the similarities between Holmes and Moriarty to a great degree. Both are of physically similar
types; Watson describes Holmes on p. 10 of A Study in Scarlet as rather over six feet, and so
excessively lean that he seem[s] to be considerably taller, while in The Final Problem, Holmes
himself calls Moriarty extremely tall and thin (562). With such vague descriptions of characters
this allows for the adapter to have a little fun with their imagination and bring to light their
perception of what the characters truly look like. Stephen Thompson used this to his advantage
as he wrote the plot for The Reichenbach Fall the third and final episode of the second series of
the BBC television series Inspired by The Final Problem originally written by Sir Arthur Conan

The Dangers Of Small Arms Proliferation
There are an abundance of dangers associated with small arms proliferation. Yes, small arms are
often used to protect lives, but they are also used equally as much to threaten the lives of
millions. In agreement with 6.1.2 (Payne, 2016, p. 73), small arms and light weapons are
attractive because they are low cost, easy availability, lethal, simple, portable, and have dual
usage. Since they are deemed so attractive, they are in high demand as well. Anyone can get their

Funerals, Ruals And Funerals
Funerals and the accompanying ceremonies and rituals are as diverse as the people who perform
them. I was raised Roman Catholic and have had first hand experience with the tradition of
receiving the Sacrament of Last Rights before a person dies. When I was seven years old, I had an
emergency appendectomy that was done laparoscopically. Ten days after surgery
, I became very ill
with a high fever, vomiting, and intense abdominal pains. My mother rushed me to the hospital
where I was admitted and taken to the operating room for an emergency surgery. While in
surgery, they discovered I had a surgical infection in my lower right quadrant. They ran my
bowel and found a lump in my mesentery, but they could not biopsy it because it was too close
to a major artery. After surgery, I was recovering well and looking forward to going home. On
my third day post operation, I was difficult to rouse and eventually became unresponsive with my
heart rate dropping to eight beats per minute. I was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit where I
was given Last Rights by the hospital priest because they did not think I was going to make it
through the night. I do not remember receiving the sacrament that night, but I do remember the
second time. Things got a little better, but then I started hemorrhaging from my nose. That,
combined with my blood loss from surgery, resulted in me needing a blood transfusion. I
received Last Rights for a second time after the central line was placed. I remember the priest
making a cross on my forehead and the palms of my hand. He prayed and blessed my soul so that if
I were to die, I could go to Heaven. I remember feeling a sense of calm, but that could have been
the narcotics. The idea of blessing someone before deathto ensure that they get to heaven is
interesting to me. It almost seems as though you can live your life as sinfully as you want to but
when the time comes, if you confess and repent, then all is forgiven. That is quite odd to me. It is
interesting to have had Last Rights twice and still be alive. It makes me wonder if God decided it
was not my time. Despite the priest s best attempts to bless my soul for the journey to heaven.
Funeralcosts are something that I do not think I will ever

Thesis Of Karukku
Karukku(1992) was written by a wounded self with specific experience, the experience of Dalit
women. It argued against patriarchy and caste oppression. Bama s personal struggle finds her own
identity, Karukku which means Palmyra leaves. Bama attempts to overcome her existential despite
stemming from her alienation from the convent and her community. Karukku was a new genre in
the history of Tamil Literature; it has gained many praises and many scorned it. Dalitliterature was
born out of anguish of unjust social systems based on casteand class inequities and has become an
expression of the agonies suffered by these deprived groups for ages. To become a nun is Bama s
stubborn hope, to put an end to the caste oppression; she thought that she... Show more content on

India s Untouchables are relegated to the lowest jobs, and live in constant fear of being publicly
humiliated, paraded naked, beaten, and raped with impunity by upper caste Hindus seeking to keep
them in their place. Merely walking through an upper caste neighborhood is a life threatening
offense.
Dalit women also face violence when they try to access rights and entitlements provided by the
constitution and the government. In addition to facing discrimination and untouchability in
accessing welfare schemes, women from Dalit community also faces sexual and other kinds of
physical violence. In spite of the space (reservation) given to them at panchayat (village) level their
participation is dismal in the local governance. Dalit women face direct impediments right from the
time of filing nominations right up to announcement of the election results, including: caste and
sexually based verbal abuse; harassment, threats or physical assaults; property destruction;
restrictions on freedom of movement; and illegal and fraudulent voting

Voting In Voting
Being able to vote is a privilege that has been granted to us at the age of 18 for over 40 years
now. Although 18 year olds and above are granted the opportunity to vote in something that can
make a difference in politics not everyone takes the time to participate in voting. Most of the
voting has been done by older people because they have had more experience and interest in
politics. With that being said I think the more realistic decision to make is keeping 16 and 17 years
olds from votinguntil they reach the age of 18. On November 13, 2017, Annys Shin published an
article called Takoma Park 16 year old savors his history making moment at the polls. In that
article Shin explains that in the Montgomery County has been one of the first communities to
allow 16 and 17 years olds to vote. The student that have been elected to vote felt important and
special for being able to have a say in votes at such a young age. For those who weren t chosen
might of not had a problem with it simply because they weren t interested. Even when they teen
reach the age of 18 the first thing they think about is not running up to a polland vote, they have
money other ideas then waiting so long to go to the polls and voting at the first opportunity that
they get. We cannot be more excited to have the 16 17 year olds vote then they are themselves. If
they are not eager to vote at 16 17 then why even have the idea to push them to be hungry to vote
and be involved in politics. The teens that

Solution-Focused Theory Analysis
Hannah, Becca, Paige, and I presented on solution focused theory. We developed and prepared our
presentation together, rather than breaking up the work. This was advantageous as each group
member knew all of the material, rather than merely understanding one section of material. In the
presentation, I gave an overview of the therapy. I discussed that solution focused therapy
incorporates ideas from many disciplines and theories. I also highlighted a few of the key ideas,
such as shifting focus from problems to solutions. Later in the presentation, I explained the concept
of externalizing and personifying problems, and I described the social worker/client relationship in
this theory. I believe that I presented this content well and explained

Genders Differ in Language Use
The purpose of the study, including the specific research question studied:
Language Learning Strategies (LLS) are the activities or actions that learners take in order to
effectively receive, store, retrieve and use information that they gain. Learners take such actions in
order to facilitate faster and easier learning as well as make learning more enjoyable and effective
(Mahamod et al., 2009). According to Mahamod et al. (2009), gender results into differences in
Language Learning Strategies with studies showing that, females are better in using Language

Using the sample of 457 students, analysis produced an F Value of 3.122 and a significance level
of 0.003. Univariate test indicated that there also existed significant difference between the male
Arabic students and female Arabic students in the use Affective and Metaphysics categories of
Language Learning Strategies. Estimated marginal means indicated that female students were using
Affective and Metaphysic categories more than male students. However, the researchers found no
statistically significant difference in the use of the other five categories of Language Learning
Strategies. The researchers therefore rejected the two null hypotheses that they had stated for testing.
According to the researchers, these findings were consistent with findings from previously done
research activities regarding use of Language Learning Strategies. The researchers suggested that
these differences could have resulted from the differences in biological and socialization aspects
between males and females. For instance, women depict better socialization abilities and verbal
skills compared to men. Moreover, women are better in acquiring language than men.
The conclusions drawn by the author:
The authors concluded that there exist difference in the overall use of Language Learning
Strategies between males and females. This proved that gender plays a great role in performance in
fields such as linguistics, psychology and

The Christian hierarchy found and largely accepted by Christians involves God being on top, followed by Jesus, his disciples, the clergy, and lastly, the general Christian population. Since the English language is packed with figures of speech is can be very confusing to truly comprehend what someone is trying to get across. This doesn t just go for the new comers to the English language but also to native English speakers. Throughout this paper I will define and give examples for ten different types of figurative language while providing appropriate usage. Since clichГ©s are used so frequently they lose their effectiveness. It is as the clichГ©s go in one ear and right out the other because we are used to hearing them too often. Amphiboly Amphiboly is a misleading notion on someone s original words structured to confuse or mislead and audience ( Dictionary.com, 2012). Many candidates during elections use this figurative language in order to misrepresent their competitor resulting in more votes for them. For example Sarah says I believe that lowers taxes. It s the best thing to do for our economy right now . If Tom was talking about raises taxes he could still state that Sarah said It s the best thing to do for our economy right now . In actuality Sarah wants to lower the taxes, Tom uses Amphibology in order to mislead others about her actually meaning behind her words. Amphiboly can be extremely confusing especially if you don t know what the person originally said. It is very easy to be gullible in this situation. It is best to always do research and check each statement someone said to be sure of their meaning behind their words. • 16. Voltaire s Candide As An Opportunity For Growth Or... As humans, we have choices: To change, to stay the same, to work, to rest; each choice provides an opportunity for growth or stagnation. Voltaire s Candide is a satire, originally published in 1759. The enlightenment ideals which originated in the 17th century and continued into the 18th century are highly prevalent in Candide. The work includes vehement criticism of nobility, philosophy, religion, and basic human cruelty. The main criticism of Voltaire s work is directed toward philosophical optimism, a widely accepted idea at the time. Philosophical optimism is the conviction that We live in the best of all possible worlds. Voltaire s writing is in line with the philosophy stated in John Locke s Second Treatise of Civil Government on labor which is that every man has a property in his own person: this nobody has any right to but himself. The labour of his body, and the work of his hands, we may say, are properly his. Whatsoever then he removes out of the state that nature hath provided, and left it in, he hath mixed his labour with, and joined to it something that is his own, and thereby makes it his property, as Candide encourages free will and labor in order to achieve a desired end. Voltaire s Candide employs the motifs of resurrection, hypocrisy, and crime in order to amplify the negative aspects of human nature, and in doing so, rejects the idea that we live in the best of all possible worlds and encourages the exercise of free will as well as making the choice ... As has been noted, Shelley accentuates the description of spring to express the hope and renewal bestowed upon the creature by the exemplifications of the weather. It is common throughout the novel that the existing weather reflects, and sharply influences, Victor s mood(s). For example, the atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his tale and asks Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text because much like these inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and calloused when it comes to the creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s response, but to demonstrate the absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar fashion, the pleasant weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt ridden weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear skies as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the waterfalls are effective in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the power of the topography ... • 24. The Role Of The Hero In Paradise Lost Critics abroad have argued about who the hero is of John Milton s Paradise Lost: Satan, Adam or Christ, the Son? Since Milton s overall theme stated in the opening lines of Book I is to relate Man s first disobedience and to justify the ways of God to men , Adam must be regarded as the main hero. John M. Steadman supports this view in an essay on Paradise Lost: It is Adam s action which constitutes the argument of the epic. Steadman continues: The Son and Satan embody heroic archetypes and that, through the interplay of the infernal and celestial strategies, Milton represents Satan s plot against man and Christ s resolution to save him as heroic enterprises. Christ and Satan are therefore epic machines. (268 272) Although Satan may be an epic machine, he is best portrayed as the tragic anti hero of Paradise Lost or, at the very least, a main character who possesses the stature and attributes which enable him to achieve tragic status. In the Greek tradition, the essential components of tragedy are admiration, fear and pity for the hero , who has to display a tragic weakness or flaw in his character, which will lead to his downfall. It might be argued that the flaws in Satan s character are such that we should feel no admiration, fear or pity for him, yet he can be seen to inspire these emotions. Satan s tragic flaws are pointed out in Book I. They are envy, pride, and ambition towards self glorification. Satan s pride, in particular, is stressed throughout ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Literature Review Literature Review Literature reviews can be of great benefit to social work practitioners. According to the Health and Care Profession s Council s standards of proficiency for social workers, practitioners must be able to engage in evidence informed practice (HCPC, 2017. p.11). This evidence includes research knowledge (Webber, 2014). The requirement for practitioners to draw on knowledge from developments in policy, practice and research is also reflected in the Professional Capabilities Framework for Social workers in England (The British Association of Social Work, 2012). Exploring research papers can assist with this process but with the increasing amount of published research reports, one can be overwhelmed by the amount of papers to digest and consider its application (Aveyard, 2014). As a literature review gives a clear picture of all the relevant literature on a specific topic, it proves a more convenient strategy for learning about the current context regarding an area of interest. Furthermore, Webber explains that research evidence is important for social work practice as it informs our knowledge on what works and does not work for service users (2014). This suggests that practitioners should endeavour to stay up to date with their knowledge of developments in social work as part of their professional development in order to ensure they can practice effectively with service users. Power In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s N Additionally, Foucault suggests that the Panopticon can be controlled by anyone, because the power does not lie in lies in not knowing who is in control, but how authority is able to psychologically control people, which is not illuminated in Kesey s novel, since Nurse Ratched makes all of the decisions in the ward herself. Foucault states that it doesn t matter who exercises power. Any individual, taken almost at random, can operate this machine (321), meaning that one who operates this machine will not abuse the power he is given. The people inside the Panopticon are shaped, as Foucault believes, to return to society as respectful individuals. However, when McMurphy enters the picture at the ward, he does not abide by Nurse Ratched s rules. • 28. Viking History and Culture Viking Culture Viking history and culture have been depicted in many movies, television series, and stories. Vikings are commonly known as barbarians that raid villages and intimidate others with huge ships with dragon heads, and horned helmets. This information is based on facts, but has been distorted and exaggerated over many years and tales. Viking history spans from the years 780 until 1100, which is the time span of the Viking raids. Not every Scandinavian was a Viking; Vikings were known as the men that conducted raids and bloody battles. The old definition of Viking was synonymous with the term pirate. The modern definition is relevant to the Scandinavian medieval culture, to include farming, crafting and trading. The people from the north, Norsemen, lived in villages and on dispersed farms in various regions. The Norwegian Vikings were from Iceland and Ireland. The Danish Vikings were from France and Britain. The Swedish Vikings were from Russia. Regardless of region, Vikings are addressed as one group of people. Written documentation from this era, sagas specify the region of Vikings being recorded. The Vikings government was unlike any other at that time. In fact, there was no emperor, king, or lord. The only sagas found about Viking law were written late in the 10th century in Iceland. • 29. Reflective Paper On Moral Responsibility Reflective Paper Regarding Moral Responsibility of Rehabilitating Criminals Dalia M Al Rubaye Parkdale High School Abstract This paper is generally about the correlation between moral responsibility and rehabilitation. Moral responsibility was examined in the context of criminals and ordinary people. What brings about a crime, and what impels an individuals to commit an action that he realizes is wrong. Also, the concept of rehabilitation and the way in which it is applied were examined to deliver a better understanding of issues regarding criminals. Examining these concepts was the key used to depict the moral responsibility, that s innate in people, and how it should be considered in rehabilitating criminals. Key words: Morality, self respect, conscience, rehabilitation Moral Responsibility of Rehabilitating Criminals I am a person with very little knowledge regarding criminology. Luckily, I ve acquired some knowledge from being a girl who loves to read about philosophy. Linking between the morals I ve learned as a religious person and the theories about the innate format of a human being presented by philosophers, I was able to initiate my thinking process and organize my ideas. My ultimate goal was to get to the point where I m able to decide whether the society and I are morally responsible of rehabilitating criminals or not. They were incredibly successful conquerors, and the Hunnic bow is an integral part of what made the Huns so successful. The expert craftsmanship and the perfected design allowed the Hunsto produce the best bows in the world. The Huns lived in Eastern Europe and because they are nomads they did not have agriculture. The innovation was in how the Huns redesigned the bow. The Hunnic war bow was a compound bow which was reflexed , meaning that when unstrung it would actually curve in the opposite way it was intended to be used. The process for making these bows is incredibly complex. First horn from the Hungarian Grey Steer was cut into strips and filed smooth. It was then submerged in boiling water and it slowly straightened as it softened (the softening was not permanent; it only persists while the horn was being boiled) in the water. The now flat strips of horn were then filed down to their final thickness. A wood was selected for the core (of the bow limbs) and dried. The horn was then glued to the back of the wood and the limbs were glued to the handle. The ears (the part that curves backwards) were then carved (usually out of spruce because it is light and stiff) and glued to the end of the bow at roughly a forty five degree angle. The bow was then backed with layers of sinews (often deer leg tendons). Sometimes the joints between the ears and the limbs and the limbs and the handle were also bound with hide. Then the seven bone plaques are cut into rough trapezoids to match the contours of the bow and glued into place. Then the process of tuning the bow begins. Each part of the bow is heated and slowly curved until the entire bow is uniform. All told it can take years to properly make and tune a Hunnic bow if you include the time to cure the wood, sinews, and glue. The two greatest differences between the Hunnic bow and other compound bows are the asymmetry of the arms and the bone stiffeners in the ears and handle. The bone plates are trapezoidal to better fit together along the contours of the bow, and they were deliberately scratched and roughened to ensure the glue would hold. Glue for these bows was often derived from the air bladder of a sturgeon although other glues could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lawrence uses money, the house, and the rocking horse as symbols to convey the theme that greed destroys happiness. To start off, money symbolises happiness for a person. In the story it is said, There must be more money! There must be more money! to make it be known that they need more money constantly. It also tries to say that luck is all you need and that it is better to be born lucky than rich . If you re rich you may lose your money. But if you re lucky you ll always get more money (Gillett). The luck will always be with you. The story breaks down to the ones who think puts love with money and luck with happiness . Paul s mom thinks that money will make her happy though it has not yet. Paul, who learns from his motherto associate love with money, represents the desperate search for values in a cash culture. It would force Canada and Mexicoto harmonize many laws and regulations in the interests of the world of Big Business and those of US administrations primarily concerned with their imperial ambitions and undemocratic worldwide. It is obvious that such a continental thrust integration plan, both economically and politically, is substantially different from the original idea of fair and free trade in goods and services, through the abolition tariff and non tariff barriers between the countries of the hemisphere. This idea first took shape with the free trade agreement of 1988 between Canada and the United States. Subsequently, in 1994, Canada had to accept that Mexico is joining the North American Free Trade Agreement, also forcing him to make substantial concessions on the application of the Investment Canada Act, which governs foreign takeovers of Canadian companies, in addition to ensuring the US privileged access to Canadian energy resources.
