Expanding the Effective use of Video at B.C. Institutions with Kaltura

Kaltura has enabled us to encourage students to be producers and co-creators of video (not just consumers of video created by Instructors) Sometimes quality varies (as you’d expect) but importantly adopting Kaltura (a) gives students the ability to upload video themselves – something we couldn’t have done with previous systems and (b) develops an important digital skill/capability – creativity – in this case a nice repurposing of a Star Wars theme. 2 mins

  9. Benefits Increase engagement: By making video interactive, capture the viewer’s attention and reduce drop-off. Evaluate knowledge: Discover exactly how much each individual viewer retains. Provide test results: Tie test results and certification outcomes directly to the material. Evaluate material: Use as a poll to discover not only viewers’ knowledge but also their opinions and reactions. Improve learning outcomes: Provide a more engaging, sticky way to transfer information.
