A journey from past experiences to future expectations.
About our project
The general topic of our project comprised teenagers and their parents’ lifestyles in
Europe. We investigated teenagers and parents hobbies, interests, life goals, future perspectives
connected with work and private life as well as problems that they encounter - drugs, alcohol,
unemployment. Our aims were:
- to develop abilities to notice social risks, find solutions to problems resulting from
addictions, unemployment etc.
- to make students more aware of the life and problems in the past, and compare them with
the present.
- to make students realize what are their future perspectives (education, job opportunities)
- to promote the use of communication and information technologies;
- develop abilities to share knowledge and skills;
- promote creativity and innovation;
- promote interpersonal skills: assertiveness, empathy etc
We divided our project into four parts. In each
semester a different partner school was responsible
for carrying out and supervising of planned activities.
Semester I- Subject: „My Lifestyle” Students prepared a
video „This is me”, wrote an article and made a
documentary comparing lifestyles now and then.
Semester II Subject: „My community” Students from
each partnership country collected and took old and
new photos of their school, town and prepared a display.
They also prepared statistics, diagrams, short
com-
ments about social facilities in their region.
Semester III - Subject: „Problems and difficulties” All
students identified social problems now and in the past
and created a report. Each school organized a seminar
with a specialst and a debate for students.
Semester IV - Subject: „Future perspectives” All schools
created a magazine and organized a Career Day. Each
school also buryied a time capsule with copies of our
results for next generations on the last day of school in
June 2015.
Preparatory visit in
Poland - Jan. 2013
Project meeting
inThe first project visit took place in Turkey in October 2013. We welcomed students
and teachers from Poland, Slovakia and Portugal. All together 27
participants. During the visit our students and
teachers and our guests participated in
many different project activities.
We prepared presentations
about our countries and
‘This is Me’ videos – showing
our lifestyles now in different parts of
Europe. We also took part in a Quiz Show - checking
how much we know about our partners - the winning team –
P o r t u g a l . Our students working in international teams also created
a logo of our project. In the free time, we visited many beautiful places in Cappadocia.
We went to the Uchisar Castle, climed the fairychimneys in Pasabağ, visited the Underground City in
Kaymaklı. We have also learnt some things about pottery in Avanos. Some of us even tried to make our own pots.
The project visit in Turkey was a wonderful experience for us. We met new people from all over Europe and started

up with five great logos. We uploaded all of them on our Facebook page and let the
students choose the best one. The logo below won this competition with the
majority of votes from all four countries and become the official logo of our project.

In September 2014, we started the third part of our project ‘Problems and Difficulties’. Our first task was to
identify social problems for our students now and for their parents in the past. In order to do that we prepared a
questionnaire and presented the results of it during the project meeting in Madeira, Portugal. In addition our
students were asked to make posters about social problems now and in the past for their Social Studies lessons.
They also and took part in a brainstorming sessions conducted by their teachers.

Future Perspectives
Career Days
In January 2015, we started the fourth part of our project ‘Future Perspectives’. In
order to make our students more aware of their future perspectives in their education, we
organized Career Days at our school. We also held interviews with our students and their
parents and prepared ‚Top 10 Jobs Now and Then’ posters, which we presented during the
project visit in Poland.
During the Career Days we invited our parents to school to talk about their jobs. The most popular occupations
among our students were: a doctor, an engineer, a teacher and an architect.
One of the professions,
the students wanted to
learn more about, was
an architect. We
organized a field trip to
Uchisar, and visited one
of the architects’ office to
gain a better knowledge
of how they work.
We also had a chance to see how the plans and blueprints created by architects are used
by the other companies in reconstruction of the old listed building in our region. Our
students learnt a lot of new things not only about the architects job but also about the
typical architecture of Cappadocia.

Project meeting
in
Poland The fourth project visit took place
in Gniewkowo, Poland in May
2015. During the meeting we
presented the results of our
research ‘ Top 10 Jobs Now and Then’
and we worked in international groups creating posters
about each partners country. In our free time, we visited gauge railway
museum in Wenecja, Torun - a hometown of Nicolaus Copernicus and a settlement
of Biskupin where we participated in the workshops how to make ornaments from the Bronze Era.
We also visited Gdansk and Westerplatte – a place where the World War II started – and on the last day a health
resort in Inowroclaw. We enjoyed this meeting a lot but at the same time we were quite sad as we knew it was the
last visit during this project. We can only hope that our friendship remains and that we will see each other some
time in the future again.
During the meeting
we presented the
results of our work ‚Top
10 Jobs Now and Ten’.
It was very interesting
to compare our posters
with the ones created
by our partners. We
came to a conclusion
that we have got a lot in
common.
We had a lot of fun
during the field trips
and we learnt a lot of
new things.
Time Capsule during the
Kardelen Days
The project came to an end. During these two years we met wonderful people and we started new
friendships. We also visited increadible places in different parts of Europe. But most of all, we worked hard on our
project tasks. Therefore, we wanted to share the project outcomes, not only with our European peers but also with our
localcommunity.InJune2015,wehostedanexhibitionofourworkduringKardelenDaysinourlocalshoppingcenter.
