Bounty, the quick picker upper! When we see a commercial on our T.V. screens today, we
always see in print or hear the narrator telling us that their product or the service they are
promoting to us is one of the best of its kind. They use all types of appeals and techniques to reel
us in, making whatever they are trying to sell to us either pretty, shiny, worth buying, or they use
bold simple states telling us things such as, Once you get it, you won t be able to live without it.
By using these statements and methods of gaining viewers, the ad or commercial gains what it

The most obviously demonstrated and expressed message of Makes small work of BIG spills
contradicts the implicit message that sure, it makes small work of big spills, but paper waste
adds pollution to our population versus using cloth towels. The hidden message of complication
within our society falls short of the intended message; however, the pollution factor has to be
taken into consideration before buying such a fast and easy acting product. Sure, for some, that
message would never be brought to light making the decision to buy Bounty, a no brainer. But
for some, that might be the deciding factor in whether or not they purchase it. Bounty paper
towels have been commonly known to pick up messes. However, when the hyperboles and
enlarged items are shown in this way, it makes it seem like the brand is now bigger and better
than ever. Designed with children and parents in mind, the author uses logical appeals of big
messes to appeal to the intended audience. He does this in a way that sets the audience up for an
ultimatum. You choices are to either buy the paper towels or have a 14 foot Popsicle on the floor
in your kitchen. The answer is obvious here. By alluring the audience through definitive logic, the
author implies that without Bounty , you will have messes galore. The display of two oversized
items defends his implication. Bounty does an

Hiss vehemently denied these claims, saying that he had never been a communist , but then was
eventually found guilty. At this point, he had gone too long without being charged and could not
be charged with espionage, his original charge, but he was found to be lying under oath. He was
charged with perjury, and served 44 months in jail. This is one of many examples of the type of
persecution present during this period. Thousands of people were convicted, and even those that
were not convicted suffered setbacks and ostracism by their friends, family, co workers and
employers. Many people who were even suspected of being Communist were almost immediately
fired from their jobs. An example of this is the West Coast Port Security Program. This... Show

The justification behind this was that any Communist that was working with the ports was a
security risk between Russia and the United States. At first, almost all of the unions of dockworkers
and seamen joined in this program, because they were all anticommunist. After some time, the
Coast Guard became involved in the program. The Coast Guard took over many functions that the
unions had been handling by themselves when it came to this project, and this was met by growing
hostility from the unions as well as the individual employers. After the involvement of the Coast
Guard, many unions became angry and hostile toward the Coast Guard: There was considerable
opposition on the part of the maritime unions to the original transfer of these functions to the Coast
Guard and this antagonism toward the Coast Guard has not altogether abated. (Brown/Fassett). Not
only did this lead to a huge invasion of privacy, nearly 3,800 seamen and dockworkers lost their
jobs under the West Coast Port Security Program that had been established in the immediate
aftermath of the Korean War (Schrecker). Communism was viewed as a huge security risk, and with

Arguments Against The 14 Amendment
Immigration has become a very controversial topic that no one can stop talking about. From
President Barack Obama s Immigration Reform to potential 2016 presidential candidates, everyone
is looking at different ways to amend our broken immigration system. Almost everyone agrees that
we need tighter border control and there needs to be more regulations to prevent the hiring of illegal
immigrants. Not everyone is sure what should be decided about immigrant parents, who are not
American citizens, and their American born children. This topic has left people questioning the
14th Amendment and birthright citizenship. While some people have no tolerance for these
children and want them out, others have thought of better solutions that keep the... Show more

They argue that people come to America with plans of having what is called an anchor baby. An
anchor baby not only receives American citizenship, but also means that the babies parents can
stay here as well. Plus, once the child turns twenty one, they can become a sponsor for the rest of
the family to come to America. Another belief in people that want to take away birthright
citizenship is that taxpayer s money is being wasted on these families. People do not like the
idea of paying for these children s education because their parents are here illegally. The parents
of these children do not have to pay taxes because they are not residents of America, but that
does not stop them from using up public resources. The families still use hospitals and school
without having to pay basic taxes. Non residents that are charged with crimes get to go to a
prison that they never paid for. In just California alone, non residents, make up nearly 30% of
prisons, costing California over a billion dollars annually in incarceration. Drug crime increases
along with the rising number of illegal immigrants. Mexico s drug cartels are now overflowing
into the southwest states. People do not like what these aliens are doing. They definitely do not
like the idea of a couple receiving permission to stay in America because they simply had a child.

education. My ideal University would have to be located in a small or medium size city. I am
searching for a schoolthat has all the right educational tools to help me through my program of

Some of the schools I would consider to look at and possibly transfer to after PVCC would be
University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Georgia Regents University, and Palm Beach
State College. These schools have just about the same amount of credentials I am looking for. All

Mitosis Vs Meiosis Research Paper
Mitosis and meiosis are both types of cell divisions that have various similarities and differences.
They comparably associate with cytokinesis and form daughter cells however, meiosis occurs in
primordial diploid cells in animals, plants and fungi, whilst mitosis takes place in somatic cells in
every organism (Vidyasagar. A, 2015). Meiosis differs from mitosisas it undergoes a process known
as DNA recombination, during which genetic material interchange with chromosomes or various
regions of the same chromosome. DNA recombination is a common source of genetic variation.
Mitosis is the continuous process by which the body creates new cells to repair damaged or
aging membranes, fibers and tissues (Clare O Connor, 2008). The end result of mitosis are two
genetically identical diploid daughter cells, which develop from the single parent cell dividing.
Conversely, the meiosis cell divides into four haploid gametes each possessing half the number of
chromosomes of the parent cell (Alberts. B, 2010).
Fertilisation occurs when the two female and male gametes fuse, causing a diploid cell ... Show

The Parallels of Jesus and Hercules Essay
Myths and religious doctrine are generally recognized as two entirely different things. Myths are
usually referred to as a fictitious story or a half truth; often they are stories shared between groups
of people that are part of a cultural society. Religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, and
purpose of the universe, and often containing an ethical code dictating appropriate human conduct.
Although they differ in certain aspects, they still hold similarities. Comparable to parables within
the Bible, myths have different versions which are both motivating, as well as entertaining. There
are not only parallels to the idea of the stories but specific tales hold similar morals and equivalent
characters.

Hercules demonstrated his strength right from birth. He choked the serpents that had been sent to
him by the jealous Hera. (classicsunveiled.com)
Jesus was also marked for death as an infant, due to a prophecy proclaiming a new king would be
born in Bethlehem. King Herod the Great, sought to remain firmly ensconced on his throne and
believing the prophecy meant his reign would end, declared new born infants to death in the hopes
of killing the one the prophecy referred to.
As men, both Jesus and Hercules performed miraculous or super human feats of strength, will
power and self discipline. Jesus was burdened with having to prove himself as the messiah and
messenger of god. He traveled throughout Judea and performing miracles and casting out demons.
Hercules also traveled the earth as a man helping mankind and performing feats, such as
slaughtering monsters and demonstrating humility in mundane tasks such as cleaning stalls.
Another common element in both tales is the resurrecting of the dead. Jesus has the ability to
resuscitate the dead and demonstrates this ability multiple times in the Bible. These things said he:
and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out
of sleep. (New Revised Standard Version, John 11:11) In this demonstration, Jesus addresses those
grieving the death of Lazarus but expresses to them he is only sleeping and will awake again

Drugs And Psychoactive Drugs
Psychoactive drugs are chemicals that affect the nervous system. When a psychoactive drug is
taken it can cause changes in mood, emotions, feelings and thoughts. These drugs can also change
how a person perceives things and can alter the consciousness of that person (Plotnik
Kouyoumdijian, 2014).
Psychoactive drugs can be illicit or licit, illegal or legal. Both licit and illicit psychoactive drugs
can cause affect a person. Some examples of licit psychoactive drugs are coffee, alcohol, and

Even after a addict has stopped using a drug they often relapse and begin using the drug again. Both
behavioral and environmental factors play a role in addiction. Some environmental factors that can
play a role in addiction are parents, family members, and peers abusing drugs. These
environmental factors play a role in a person developing an addiction because they are around it
and see it, that is all they know. Genetic factors are inherited. If a parent is an addict the children is
likely to be a addict. People who have an addiction are likely to build up a tolerance against the
drug. Tolerance means a person who uses a drug repeatedly over a period of time, the original
dosage of the drug will not give the desired effect, so a higher dosage is needed to get the desired
effect ( Addiction , 2017).
Dependency
There are two main types of dependency. The first type of dependency is physiological dependency,
this means that the change in the nervous system so that a person now needs to take the drug to

Should Music Be Taught In Schools
Music is pretty known all over the world. You can listen or hear music everywhere like your
school or even at home. Some families may want their children to learn about music while others
do not. Music helps you relax when stressed or sad. Music should be taught in school because it
helps the brain, helps comprehension skills, and helps coordination and organization. One
important reason for kids to play an instrument is that its good for the brain. While in music, you
have to think and act in the same time. Also, playing music helps kids use and improve memory
skills. In source 2 it says one study of preschoolers shows that kids who took keyboard lessons
had more memory skills than kids who did not take lessons . That quote is saying that music
builds memorization skills because to be order to play or sing, you d have to know and
remember the keys of your instrument. Additionally, music helps you be unique. In source 2 it
says It gets their brains working in new and important ways . That means that just by trying to play

Essay On Reflective Reflection
I was nominated for this course of study by the Criminology and Criminal Justice department at

This is in part due to my previous credentials which include professional experience in leadership

working history, the course is everything I expected it to be as I have always had a keen interest
for gaining a better understanding of myself and others. My only criticism, is that I personally
feel I would have gained more from the course by discussing the topics in more depth, therefore
perhaps a course of longer duration may have been more beneficial for me.

Last, and most important, is that studies have not shown that more hours spent on homework leads
to more knowledge. Time spent on homework does not correlate to better test scores. Some
students can spend twice as much time as others and still not do as well. Grades do not necessarily

The need for the EMR was to help with becoming compliant with physician order entry and
increasing patient safety relating to meaningful use. As an ER staff nurse, I was approached by my
manager to be a super user and part of the team for the new EMR. It was a long process over
several months of planning and collaborating with the builders of the system and receiving input
from the staff on what would be useful. All the ER staff received appropriate in class training in
addition to online access to practice. Physicians were also given scribes to assist with a smooth
transition. I have to say the implementation and evaluation process went very smooth with
minimal disruptions to the ER flow. I continued to teach the EMR class to new arrivals and
remained a super user in the department until I transferred to another facility. This was by far
one of my favorite experiences as a nurse. Here is an example of a failed roll out project that was
chosen for. As a nurse working in vascular assess area during a monthly staff meeting, a group of
us were delegated with specific instructions to start a project to place small chlorhexidine
gluconate (CHG) patch on ultrasound peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVs) in patients in the
intensive care unit (ICU). This project was to last a month or more, no specific time was given.
There was no planning in place or input from the staff that was requested during the
implementation of this project. The purpose was to see if this would decrease the chances of
infection, phlebitis, infiltrates, and increasing its longevity of the PIV. This sounded good but there
was no information or evidence of a problem in our facility on how often PIVs were discontinued
due to these symptoms. During the evaluation process, we assessed each patient s PIV insertion site
daily. We were instructed tell the floor nurses to

Management of the Educational System
Education in Nigeria is the shared responsibility of the federal, state and local governments. The
Federal Ministry of Education plays a dominant role in regulating the education sector, engaging in
policy formation and ensuring quality control. However, the federal government is more directly
involved with tertiary education than it is with school education, which is largely the responsibility
of state (secondary) and local (primary) governments. The education sector is divided into three sub
sectors: basic (nine years), post basic/senior secondary (three years), and tertiary (four to seven
years, depending on the major or course of study). Education in Nigeria is provided by public and
private institutions. Education is placed on the concurrent legislative list in the 1999 constitution
that provides the legal framework for educational management in Nigeria. This implies that both
Federal and State governments have legislative jurisdiction and corresponding functional
responsibilities with respect to education. By this arrangement, a few functions are exclusively
assigned to the Federal or State government, most of the functions and responsibilities are in fact
shared by the three tiers of government. Statutorily, the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) is at
the apex of the regulation and management of education in the country and to discharge this
mandate, the ministry is

Andy Warhol Biography
More Than 15 Minutes of Fame Andy Warhol s name is recognized by all kinds of people, art
fanatics, cell phone obsessed teenagers, and even elementary school students. He was one of the
most popular American print artists and helped create Pop Art. Warhol is still one of the most
prominent artists of American culture. His repetitive style, early childhood struggles, and all

the name Andrew Warhola. His parents, Andrej and Julia Warhola, were immigrants from
Czechoslovakia. Julia Warhola cleaned houses and sold handmade metal flowers, and Andrej

Warhol became a celebrity of his time. He went to parties and nightclubs, especially Studio 54
and Max s City Night Club. Warhol was often invited to the White House. He was believed to be
gay because of the homoerotic imagery hidden in his art. If you want to know all about Warhol,

communicative in public.
In 1987, Warhol got a serious gallbladder infection, and had to get an operation done to get it
removed. The operation went well, but he had a heart attack in recovery and died. When he died,
he had one hundred million dollars. His money was used to start a foundation to promote Visual

Radish Seeds Lab Report
Title: How Does Electromagnetic Radiation Effect the Time it Takes a Radish Seed to Germinate?
The independent variable was the microwaved seeds. The dependent variable was the time it takes
for the seeds to germinate.
Purpose: To observe the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the germination of radish seeds.
Background: If you plant a seed, water it, give it sunlight, and good air a plant will grow. Did you
know that there is a baby plant inside every seed called an embryo? Seeds are made up of three
things, an embryo, the endosperm, and the cotyledon. The embryo in the baby plant, the
endosperm acts as a food source for the embryo, and the cotyledon are leaf like structures that
support the endosperm. The seed coat acts as a barrier that protects the inside of the seed.( Parts of
a Seed and Their Functions. CropsReview.Com. )(1)
The protection the seed coat provides varies in all seeds. Some seeds may need hard seed coats to
survive while other seeds only need a soft, fragile one. Due to the theory of evolution seed coats
have been able to adapt to their environments in order to survive. For example plants in the desert
would need a tough seed coat to protect against premature germination and extreme dryness.

Rhetorical Devices In Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
A war in which bloodshed took place between brothers, friends, and neighbors had luckily come
to an end in 1865. Abraham Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address occurred on May 4, 1865. In his
speech, he talks about how the effects of the war will eventually fade away along with the issue
of slavery. Lincoln s speech uses rhetorical devices such as tone, diction, and imagery to create
and emphasize his purpose to unite the divided country. The use of these rhetorical devices allows
Lincoln to achieve the purpose of his speech, which is to reunite the nation one nation under God.
To being with, one effective rhetorical device that Lincoln uses in his speech is tone. In his Second
Inaugural Address, Lincoln s is very optimistic about the future as he describes his aspiration for
the country s reconciliation in a deep and sincere manner. During his speech, Lincoln mentions, ...
to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all
nations.... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His word choice stands out the most, mainly because it goes hand in hand with Lincoln s tone.
Lincoln uses a spiritual figure in his address which provides a more positive connotation that has
a significant impact on his audience. For example, ...with firmness in the right as God gives us
to see the right... to bind up the nation s wounds.... By providing and emphasizing on the word
God six times in his speech, Lincoln gives his audience a sense of faith and hope that the hard
times will soon come to an end, that the North and the South will soon reunite, and that they will
create lasting peace. On the other hand, words describing war and war itself provides a more
negative connotation that leads his audience to believe that nothing good comes out of war. For
instance, All dreaded it, all sought to avert it. Lincoln s audience is led to believe that war only
inflicts pain to both opponents and that it is a

Causes And Consequences Of Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes is a chronic life threatening disease that affects individuals from all walks of life.
It affects your bodies natural ability to produce or use insulin which is vital for your body to
function normally. The issue with having type 2 diabetes is that there is no cure, it can only be
controlled through associated medical remedies and a disciplined healthy lifestyle. Before Canadian
Fredrick Banting had discovered a way to produce synthetic insulin, diabetes was considered a death
sentence. Today our society has definitely seen miraculous improvements; since the inception of
insulin, millions have fortunately been able to live out their lives. However, like most medications,

It will be explained why there is such a rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes in Canada by looking at
the fundamental differences between healthy and unhealthy environments and the underlying
factors that cause an individual to be more vulnerable to diabetes. Through a critical analysis of food
security, physical environment and access to health resources for isolated communities, this paper
will prove how certain social determinants in Canada create unhealthy environments that are
responsible for the high prevalence of type 2 diabetes.
Food Security:
An important difference that must be noted between type 1 and type 2 diabetes is that type 1
occurs during adolescence and is not preventable. On the other hand type 2 diabetes can occur at
any age in ones life; however it is preventable through healthy eating, and maintaining an ideal
weight. With that being said it is often easy to blame the onset of type 2 diabetes on a an
individuals lack of motivation to live a healthy active lifestyle, however information from the
Canadian Diabetes Association(2011) explains that type 2 diabetes accounts for 90% of all
cases(CDA, 2011). This proportion raises the notion that we can not just place the blame solely on
the individual; rather the individual is often a product of their environment. It can easily be proven

different layers of the OSI model. Figure 1: OSI Model As shown in the above figure 1, these
seven layers can be segmented into two groups namely; Upper Layers and Lower Layers. Upper

Important Aspects Of Music Education
Education should enhance understanding of the world, of oneself, and of one s own experience
(Kelly 2009). What is important about music education? There are many important aspects in
music education like pedagogy and performance. For me, music education is about letting the
students express themselves. Having the ability to give an idea or to vent is a vital tool in
today s society. This concept influences music because expression is not only in how to connect
a phrase, but also how to tell a story. With my time in college, Dr. Joseph Frye will always tell me
to tell a story with music. He will also ask me what I want to feel after playing a piece. This is
what I believe is important in music education. What is it about expression that makes it so
important for music education? Firstly, expression is the main source to music because you have
all these different ways to create music. Music can make a person feel great or can make a
person feel down in the dumps. Music could not do this to people if it did not have a little
expression in it. Secondly, expression is important to the emotional development. In an NAfME
article, it states that students who were involve with music are more emotionally developed
(NAfME 2014). This statement is important because with emotions most people need to express it,
but it is usually harder to talk to someone about it. So why not utilize music to do it? This ties back
to music education because without music education no one will know

The Discourse Of A Discourse Community
A discourse community is defined as a group of people involved in and communicating about a
particular topic, issue, or in a particular field. We all belong to multiple discourse
communities. To earn a position of a discourse community one must possess accurate
knowledge, establish reliability of members to be accepted and learn to persuade other members
of the community. The discourse community that I identify with personally and the profession I
plan to pursue is the world of film production. However, there are many jobs that need to be done
on a film set leading to there being multiple discourse communities within the film industry, what
I want to focus on specifically is the DP, otherwise known as the director of photography .
According to The Concept of Discourse Community, by educator and researcher John Swales, a
discourse community is defined by six characteristics. The first, and probably most important,
characteristic of a discourse community is the idea that each discourse community has an agreed
set of common public goals. The goal of every filmmaker is to tell an exciting or interesting story
that would make the audience think. The director of photography uses the camera as a mirror.
That mirror reflects our lives, our feelings, our thoughts and points of view. Cinematographers
create and interpret processes to make an original work of art rather than simply setting up a
camera and recording whatever is in front of it. If this were war, the DP is like the

Government Control Gun Control
The second part of reforming the Republican Party involves enacting stricter gun regulations to
decrease the amount of gun violence in the United States. The official policy from the Republican
platform believes that all law abiding citizens should have the right to own guns (2016
Republican Party Platform). However, recent mass shootings in California and Texas has called
into question on whether the regulations that are in place are enough, or if there should be tougher
background checks and restrictions on guns. The Republican Party s current stance on these
recent shootings has caused a massive backlash from the media and the public, which is resulting
in a rapid decrease in popularity. The American public is dismayed when they turn on the news
and see reports of another mass shooting causing unnecessary deaths because of gun violence and
Republican politicians are attacked on the media for not taking the necessary action of stricter gun
regulations. However, with this new stance the Republicans will now support more detailed
background checks and restrict the type of guns that can be owned by regular citizens. This will be
heavily supported by most liberal groups but disapproved by the almost all conservative groups.
Groups like the Solid Liberals, Faith and Family Left, and the Next Generation Left believe that the
government controlling gun ownership should be implemented due to the increase of mass
shootings. However, groups that are far right, the Young Outsiders,

In the society that we reside in today our voice is a source of power and our words allow us to
have a say in our lives especially for the female population. Many years ago a woman s voice was
to be kept at a whisper if even heard at all. We had no opinion on who we wanted to be or on how
the world saw us. We were simply women who took care of the children, cooked, cleaned, and
catered to the men of our home. But we broke out of that silence and women created a name for
themselves, Independent. We could do anything a man could do and maybe even better and we
have now lived in that freedom for many years. But author of the novel, The Handmaid s Tale,
Margaret Atwood pulled her readers attention showing them a world in which the woman s
voice was again taken away. Atwood revealed how powerful the voice is. In this novel women
no longer have a say in what happens to them or their bodies. They were forced to bare the
children of the men they are assigned to and were stripped away from their past lives. The only
key to a small piece of freedom was through their language, through their use of words to paint a
different picture than the one in front of them. That is what main character Offred did to survive
the world she was living in. She paints pictures with her words and even though she did not have
power over her circumstance her words gave her an escape from everything. It gave an escape for

Should all high schoolers take courses in personal finance?
#19, By: Creedance
ARTICLE 1: Yes, Education system overhaul should include a new emphasis on financial literacy.
This article was all for making personal finance instruction a top concern. It was all about how
many high schools are failing badly when it comes to teaching students about how to manage
money and only 17 states require high school students to take courses in personal finance. Nan J.
Morrison believes that for kids to be successful, they don t need to learn advanced ideas.
However she believes, students do need to know how to open a bank account and how much they
need to save each month to reach their goals, she said. They also should know how much money
they will need to earn to pay back the money they borrow. She believes that for kids to enter
adulthood ready and prepared they should have to take personal finance making them aware of how
to open a bank account and many other things you need to know to be a successful adult.

Introduction. Managing Autism Can Be A Challenge To Cope
Introduction
Managing autism can be a challenge to cope with in any family with out understanding ASD. In the
article, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Catherine Lord explains autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, as a
neurodevelopmental syndrome that is defined by deficits in social reciprocity and communication,
and by unusual restricted, repetitive disorder (2000. P355). Parenting a child on the autism
spectrum is difficult for any parent who is uneducated about the specific disorder their child is

ASD can alter a person s functioning at different levels from very mildly to sever. Although autism
is a disorder that causes complications with social interactions and learning abilities, people with
ASD can vary from severely challenged to gifted. Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42
boys (Autism.2017.Para4). The National Institute of Health suggest that autism is one of the fastest
growing developmental disorders in the United States (2016.Para7). ASD is unique in that it is
common for people with ASD to have many strengths and abilities. Scientists does not know the
exact causes of ASD, but research suggest that genes and environment play important roles
(NIH.2016.Para2). Most parents often blame themselves when they have a child with special needs.
Because of its links to genetics and neural development and the severe abnormalities in social
interaction by which it is defined, autism offers the opportunity for scientists to study the
neurobiological origins of social communication skills basic to human behavior (Lord. 2000.P2).
The National Autism Association points out that autism itself does not affect life expectancy,
however research has shown that the mortality risk among individuals with autism is twice as high
as the general population, in large part due to drowning and other accidents (2017. Para1).

pottery figures of this kind were first found. The way the tradition started for Africa was from the
Nok statuettes. Nok statuettes are mainly of human subjects. Made of terracotta, they combine
strong formal elements with a complete disregard for precise anatomy. Their expressive quality
places them at the start of the African sculptural tradition. African artist have started making
sculptures in 500 bc but for most of their sculptures most of them do not last a huge period of time.
Most African objects bear neither labels nor signatures, and unfortunately it is impossible to date
them precisely or to identify makers. The longest surviving tradition of African sculpture is figures
in terracotta. They are made by an element, Cast metal, and is the only other material to withstand
the continent s termites. Africa isn t very big on using a lot of art

Sports Rivalries and Its Impact on people in the Sports World My research explored, is about how
the pride in one s team can impact a community and the human need to feel like a winner. Also the
emotional well being on an individual or community. Sometimes an aggressive action by the
opposing team turns to hatred and that s a point that can elevate into a rivalry. A fan is someone
who actually dedicates part of their every day to the teams her or she follows. That goes for even
the days their team doesn t perform the way they should have, because not every team can win
them all. There are some sports fans out there and others who are more into the game and or team
they show pride in are called fanatics. Both, fans and teams often view aggressiveness directed
toward them as disrespectful. Sports rivalries are what fans and even what some of the athletes
playing in the sports live for and wait the long season just to play in that one game. A lot of
things or factors go into a rivalry to make it a good one . Some examples include how aggressive
the teams may be, any backstabbing going on. For example if a player gets traded or leaves the
school and finds itself playing his former team, Local pride, and the fan environment surrounding
the team. Sometimes an aggressive action by ones team stirs up hatred between teams. The
backstabbing element is also an interesting one. Cleveland fans will remember

Personal Reflection of Media Use Essay
Over the past week I have been keeping track of my media use. I discovered I lead a pretty
repetitive technological lifestyle. Weekday mornings I start my media consumption via my
alarm clock on my cell phone. Why not use the regular alarm clock? Because with a cell phone I
do not have to get up and out of bed in the morning the snooze button is even closer to my barely
awake fingertips. After hitting the snooze button at least once I make a point to check out
Facebook because we all know everyone is constantly updating at 5:45 every morning. After
getting out of bed, getting ready and entering my car for my 90 minute commute I turn to one of
the older forms of media my car radio. I listen to Elvis Duran in the Morning each morning.... Show

On my lunch break I check to see if I have received text messages, personal emails, and of course
see the newest updates of Facebook (slowly realizing how addicted I am to this form of social
media). Lunch is usually simple, deli meat from Aldi s or a microwavable meal. I am not sure if
either of these are purchased because of commercials I ve seen on television or out of
convenience of making packing a lunch easier. On my way home I found I listen to the radio
but not as closely singing along to some songs, shazming ones I may not know. I get home and
relax by watching television. I will continue to browse Facebook (and admit to my addiction to
it), look up recipes on pintrest. This past week I ve been super focused on Superbowl food as I
am hosting a Superbowl party. I also have done research on the Seattle Seahawks as of late as
they are my boyfriend s favorite team and I want to sound like I know what I am talking about.
These pintrest recipes are having me go out and purchase the food required as they have in the
past for other events. This form of media is possibly where I make most food decisions. Pintrest
has also provided me with different wardrobe ideas and trying to imitate them on a cheap,
affordable level. The best part of my Facebook addiction is the easier contact I have with friends
who live in other states. Though I could text or call typing on

Poverty Is The State Of Being Extremely Poor
Brett Haba Haba 1 Mr. Adam Klein
English 1301
30 November 2015
Poverty In America What does poverty mean? It is the state of being extremely poor. For many
American poverty is living paycheck to paycheck. In a lot of cases most of these people find
themselves without income and are unable to support their self or their family. Poverty has not just
recently come about, it has been around for many years. The number of Americans living in poverty
in the United States was estimated to be 35.9 million in 2003 and 12.9 were children
(Census.gov). Innocent children are impacted greatly when they are growing up in poverty
stricken families. Research has shown that poverty tends to be passed along from one generation
to the next. Those who are against poverty all agree that something needs to be done about it, but
not many of Americans do anything about this continuing issue. Most people do not take action
because their lack of information provided about the issues on poverty. The issues of poverty are
not important enough for the American media to keep everyone informed on the issues relating to
poverty. A lot of programs were created in the 1960 s that were aimed at assisting poverty stricken
families, removing slum areas, creating educational and health programs to assist families in need.
One of the most important was President Johnson s

Things that get posted on social media can spread extremely fast. Within a couple days or even a
couple hours a post can go viral. When a post goes viral millions and millions of people can see
it and the content it contains. This can have a severe negative impact on local, national, or even
global businesses. One example is the Papa John s Pizza Crisis in 2012 that started with a single
message on Twitter from a Korean American customer in New York, who was furious to find a
note lady chinky eyes written on her receipt by a cashier (Kim, et. all 1). With this post going
viral and being seen by many the people on twitter will immediately relate it to the business.
Therefore the business gets a bad reputation for a single individual s bad

Nucleotide Groupings
Inside each phone of every living thing (plant or creature) are sets of directions called qualities.
The qualities give the guidelines on what is the plant or creature, what it would appear that, how it
is to survive, and how it will associate with its encompassing surroundings. The qualities are hung
together in long stands of material called deoxyribonucleic corrosive (DNA) and these long strands
are called chromosomes. Most living things have sets of chromosomes (one from every guardian),
however they might have an alternate number of chromosomes from another living thing. For
instance, people have 23 sets of chromosomes and the organic product fly has 4 sets.
Every quality is comprised of long blends of four distinctive nucleotide bases. It is the different
mixes of the nucleotide bases that decide everything around a living animal.
The four nucleotides are called:
adenine(A),
cytosine (C),
guanine (G), and
thymine (T).
The quality for green eyes may have this nucleotide arrangement.

(Body Paragraph: General Information on self devaluation) Now that we are better able to
comprehend self stigma we can focus on the affects that impact patients lives negatively. It is
imperative to note that the discrimination of schizophrenic persons gives birth to self
devaluation. With that said, schizophrenic persons who experience discrimination in his or her
life will feel distant from society, similar to being an outcast or a black sheep. This may be the
reason why self stigma generates lower self esteem and lower self efficacy which drastically
lowers quality of life. In addition, self devaluation leads to a decreased readiness to change and an
increased declination of treatment within the behavior of patients. By increasing our knowledge on
the subject and increasing awareness we can combat internalized stigma. (Body Paragraph:
Study(s) done examining self devaluation) To bring about awareness would require concrete
evidence which was done by generating studies that examines self devaluation over time. In one
study, researchers applied a kernel smoothing method on their cross sectional sample. The purpose
of kernel smoothing was to find the average of patient reported outcomes (PROs) due to
circumstances such as varying recording dates and self stigma scores. From the PROs

Homosexual Marriage Australia
Why not Australia? Australia is considered to be one of the most accepting country in the world.
But why is homosexual marriage still illegal?
Australia has come along way in regards to accepting and acknowleding gay and lesbian
relationships. Sodomy laws were part of Australian law, from 1788 through to 1994 under Human
Rights (Sexual Conduct) Act 1994. The punishment was reduced from execution to life in prison in
1899. Today, homophobia still exsists, however being gayor lesbian it is no longer institutionalised
or illegal.
Accourding to http://www.australianmarriageequality.org/ Public opinion poll (2009 2012) 64% of
Austrlian support gay marriage and 81% of young people (18 24 years) support marriage equality.

Many anti gay people use the argument that if gay marriage was made legal, other changes such
as allowing muliple wives, would have to be made. However this is proven wrong, as seen in the
countries who have already legalised gay marriage have not experience those reprecussions.
The Catholic Church is strongly opposed to legalising gay marriage in Australia. Acoording to the
Don t mess with marriage report A Pastoral Letter from the Catholic Bishops of Australia to all
Australians onthe Same sex Marriage Debate, their definition of marriage is that it involves a
substantial bodily and spiritual union of a man and a woman. The Church believes this union is
centred around and ordered not only to the wellbeing of the spouses but also towards the
generation and wellbeing of children. However it has been found that people in same sex couples
are more highly educated and are more likely to be in highly skilled occupations than people in
heterosexual couples. In measures of general health and family cohesion children aged 5 to 17 years
with same sex attracted parents had significantly better scores when compared to Australian
children from all other backgrounds and family contexts. With regard to academic performance, the
evidence is that lesbian and gay parented children perform as well as or better than their peers
raised in hetrosexual couple families. This information was found on the Australian Governement,
Australian institute of family studies website. These statistics and facts prove that there is so big

Who Is Abraham Lincoln A Good President
The best US president was easily Abraham Lincoln. He accomplished a lot of things as president
such as putting an end to slavery as well as he had plenty of amazing speeches that had some of the
best quotes and these together made the people love him.
The way president Lincoln ended slavery was tactful and necessary. He initially started as
antislavery and transitioned to emancipation. The quote Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary
Emancipation Proclamation, declaring all slaves in rebel states should be free as of Jan. 1, 1863,
(Paul) expresses how he even had a preliminary proclamation to test the waters first. If it wasn t a
gradual change away from slavery then the southern states would have detached from the rest of
the US and been their own country where slavery was allowed. The way Abraham Lincoln did this
was by instating laws that forbade slavery. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the more famous ones is described as he issued a stirring plea for the country to pay them
tribute by honoring principles liberty, equality worth dying for (Time Inc.). He had so many good
quotes he even had a memorial named after him filled with his quotes. They are inscribed on the
seat he sits in and in the walls all around it. His famous speeches are also within the memorial for
the people to read.
Most people love Abraham Lincoln due to his great speeches and having abolished slavery. These
are great because a great leader needs to be loved by the people. There was never a profound leader
who wasn t loved by the people he ruled over. Even some communists that accomplished grand
goals were loved by their people.
In conclusion, Abraham Lincoln is the best president. He helped abolish slavery, he had excellent
speeches, and was loved by many of the people of and beyond his time. These are what make him
a great president worthy of being called the best.

Abigail Adams Women s Rights Essay
Although a women during the time of the American Revolution, Abigail Adams was able to
accomplish a great deal that makes her fit to be a founding father. She was a great activist for
women s rights, as well as an abolitionist. She was the unofficial advisor to her husband, John
Adams, who served as Vice President and President of the United States.
Abigail was the first women to serve as Second Lady of the United States from 1789 to 1797, and
the second women to serve as the First Lady from 1797 to 1801. She is also the mother of the sixth
president, John Quincy Adams. She came from the prestigious lineage of the Quincy family on her
mother s side, and from congregational ministers on her father s. (Abigail Smith Adams) Adams
had no formal education, like most women of her time, but she loved to read, and educated herself
through literature. She met her husband, John Adams, through their shared love of literature and
married in 1764.
After their wedding, John and Abigail Adamsmoved to his farm in Braintree, Massachusetts, and
John practiced law nearby. She gave birth to her first child almost exactly nine months after their
wedding, so she was a mother from almost the very beginning. She bore two daughters and three
sons, and because of this, stayed home when John Adams was elected a delegate to the Continental
Congress. During this time, Abigail and John Adams exchanged over a thousand letters that
discussed her life during the Revolution. (Abigail Adams) The letters

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy ( Rebt )
Abstract
A literature review on rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). A discussion of the REBT
founder Albert Ellis and the concepts that influenced the formation of REBT. Also, an in depth
description of the concepts and theories behind REBT as well as examples of the types of
therapies that are commonly used in REBT. Next, an explanation of some of the changes that have
occurred during the history of REBT and a call for some future developments. Finally, some
criticisms of REBT are debated.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Past, Present, and Future Rational emotive behavior therapy
(REBT) was first developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 (Dryden, David, Ellis, 2009). Albert Ellis was
influenced by the teachings of many different stoic philosophers, including Epictetus, which taught
that humans are not disturbed by the actual things that happen to them but by their perception of
those things (Dryden et al., 2009). Hence, Ellis termed this therapy rational psychotherapy in order
to emphasize the cognitive aspect of his therapy and to differentiate it from other psychoanalytic
therapies (Dryden et al., 2009). However, he had to change the name of his therapy to rational
emotive therapy in 1961 due to critics accusations of the therapy ignoring clients emotions, and
then again in 1993 to rational emotive behavior therapy in order to emphasize the behavior aspect
of therapy (Dryden et al., 2009). Another influence to Ellis was Alfred Alder; Alder s belief that an

  • 2. Bounty Paper Towel Add Bounty, the quick picker upper! When we see a commercial on our T.V. screens today, we always see in print or hear the narrator telling us that their product or the service they are promoting to us is one of the best of its kind. They use all types of appeals and techniques to reel us in, making whatever they are trying to sell to us either pretty, shiny, worth buying, or they use bold simple states telling us things such as, Once you get it, you won t be able to live without it. By using these statements and methods of gaining viewers, the ad or commercial gains what it truly aspired for; attention and the need and/or desire to buy the product. The most obviously demonstrated and expressed message of Makes small work of BIG spills contradicts the implicit message that sure, it makes small work of big spills, but paper waste adds pollution to our population versus using cloth towels. The hidden message of complication within our society falls short of the intended message; however, the pollution factor has to be taken into consideration before buying such a fast and easy acting product. Sure, for some, that message would never be brought to light making the decision to buy Bounty, a no brainer. But for some, that might be the deciding factor in whether or not they purchase it. Bounty paper towels have been commonly known to pick up messes. However, when the hyperboles and enlarged items are shown in this way, it makes it seem like the brand is now bigger and better than ever. Designed with children and parents in mind, the author uses logical appeals of big messes to appeal to the intended audience. He does this in a way that sets the audience up for an ultimatum. You choices are to either buy the paper towels or have a 14 foot Popsicle on the floor in your kitchen. The answer is obvious here. By alluring the audience through definitive logic, the author implies that without Bounty , you will have messes galore. The display of two oversized items defends his implication. Bounty does an ... At this point, he had gone too long without being charged and could not be charged with espionage, his original charge, but he was found to be lying under oath. He was charged with perjury, and served 44 months in jail. This is one of many examples of the type of persecution present during this period. Thousands of people were convicted, and even those that were not convicted suffered setbacks and ostracism by their friends, family, co workers and employers. Many people who were even suspected of being Communist were almost immediately fired from their jobs. An example of this is the West Coast Port Security Program. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The justification behind this was that any Communist that was working with the ports was a security risk between Russia and the United States. At first, almost all of the unions of dockworkers and seamen joined in this program, because they were all anticommunist. After some time, the Coast Guard became involved in the program. The Coast Guard took over many functions that the unions had been handling by themselves when it came to this project, and this was met by growing hostility from the unions as well as the individual employers. After the involvement of the Coast Guard, many unions became angry and hostile toward the Coast Guard: There was considerable opposition on the part of the maritime unions to the original transfer of these functions to the Coast Guard and this antagonism toward the Coast Guard has not altogether abated. (Brown/Fassett). Not only did this lead to a huge invasion of privacy, nearly 3,800 seamen and dockworkers lost their jobs under the West Coast Port Security Program that had been established in the immediate aftermath of the Korean War (Schrecker). Another belief in people that want to take away birthright citizenship is that taxpayer s money is being wasted on these families. • 7. Mitosis Vs Meiosis Research Paper Mitosis and meiosis are both types of cell divisions that have various similarities and differences. They comparably associate with cytokinesis and form daughter cells however, meiosis occurs in primordial diploid cells in animals, plants and fungi, whilst mitosis takes place in somatic cells in every organism (Vidyasagar. A, 2015). Meiosis differs from mitosisas it undergoes a process known as DNA recombination, during which genetic material interchange with chromosomes or various regions of the same chromosome. DNA recombination is a common source of genetic variation. Mitosis is the continuous process by which the body creates new cells to repair damaged or aging membranes, fibers and tissues (Clare O Connor, 2008). The end result of mitosis are two genetically identical diploid daughter cells, which develop from the single parent cell dividing. Conversely, the meiosis cell divides into four haploid gametes each possessing half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell (Alberts. B, 2010). • 10. The Parallels of Jesus and Hercules Essay Myths and religious doctrine are generally recognized as two entirely different things. Myths are usually referred to as a fictitious story or a half truth; often they are stories shared between groups of people that are part of a cultural society. Religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, and purpose of the universe, and often containing an ethical code dictating appropriate human conduct. Although they differ in certain aspects, they still hold similarities. Comparable to parables within the Bible, myths have different versions which are both motivating, as well as entertaining. Hercules demonstrated his strength right from birth. He choked the serpents that had been sent to him by the jealous Hera. (classicsunveiled.com) Jesus was also marked for death as an infant, due to a prophecy proclaiming a new king would be born in Bethlehem. King Herod the Great, sought to remain firmly ensconced on his throne and believing the prophecy meant his reign would end, declared new born infants to death in the hopes of killing the one the prophecy referred to. As men, both Jesus and Hercules performed miraculous or super human feats of strength, will power and self discipline. Jesus was burdened with having to prove himself as the messiah and messenger of god. He traveled throughout Judea and performing miracles and casting out demons. Hercules also traveled the earth as a man helping mankind and performing feats, such as slaughtering monsters and demonstrating humility in mundane tasks such as cleaning stalls. Another common element in both tales is the resurrecting of the dead. Jesus has the ability to resuscitate the dead and demonstrates this ability multiple times in the Bible. These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. (New Revised Standard Version, John 11:11) In this demonstration, Jesus addresses those grieving the death of Lazarus but expresses to them he is only sleeping and will awake again ... Based on my working history, the course is everything I expected it to be as I have always had a keen interest for gaining a better understanding of myself and others. My only criticism, is that I personally feel I would have gained more from the course by discussing the topics in more depth, therefore perhaps a course of longer duration may have been more beneficial for me. The Federal Ministry of Education plays a dominant role in regulating the education sector, engaging in policy formation and ensuring quality control. However, the federal government is more directly involved with tertiary education than it is with school education, which is largely the responsibility of state (secondary) and local (primary) governments. The education sector is divided into three sub sectors: basic (nine years), post basic/senior secondary (three years), and tertiary (four to seven years, depending on the major or course of study). Education in Nigeria is provided by public and private institutions. Education is placed on the concurrent legislative list in the 1999 constitution that provides the legal framework for educational management in Nigeria. The dependent variable was the time it takes for the seeds to germinate. Purpose: To observe the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the germination of radish seeds. Background: If you plant a seed, water it, give it sunlight, and good air a plant will grow. Did you know that there is a baby plant inside every seed called an embryo? Seeds are made up of three things, an embryo, the endosperm, and the cotyledon. The embryo in the baby plant, the endosperm acts as a food source for the embryo, and the cotyledon are leaf like structures that support the endosperm. The seed coat acts as a barrier that protects the inside of the seed.( Parts of a Seed and Their Functions. CropsReview.Com. )(1) The protection the seed coat provides varies in all seeds. • 31. Important Aspects Of Music Education Education should enhance understanding of the world, of oneself, and of one s own experience (Kelly 2009). What is important about music education? There are many important aspects in music education like pedagogy and performance. For me, music education is about letting the students express themselves. Having the ability to give an idea or to vent is a vital tool in today s society. This concept influences music because expression is not only in how to connect a phrase, but also how to tell a story. With my time in college, Dr. Joseph Frye will always tell me to tell a story with music. He will also ask me what I want to feel after playing a piece. This is what I believe is important in music education. What is it about expression that makes it so important for music education? Firstly, expression is the main source to music because you have all these different ways to create music. Music can make a person feel great or can make a person feel down in the dumps. Music could not do this to people if it did not have a little expression in it. Secondly, expression is important to the emotional development. In an NAfME article, it states that students who were involve with music are more emotionally developed (NAfME 2014). This statement is important because with emotions most people need to express it, but it is usually harder to talk to someone about it. So why not utilize music to do it? Many years ago a woman s voice was to be kept at a whisper if even heard at all. We had no opinion on who we wanted to be or on how the world saw us. We were simply women who took care of the children, cooked, cleaned, and catered to the men of our home. But we broke out of that silence and women created a name for themselves, Independent. We could do anything a man could do and maybe even better and we have now lived in that freedom for many years. But author of the novel, The Handmaid s Tale, Margaret Atwood pulled her readers attention showing them a world in which the woman s voice was again taken away. Atwood revealed how powerful the voice is. In this novel women no longer have a say in what happens to them or their bodies. They were forced to bare the children of the men they are assigned to and were stripped away from their past lives. The only key to a small piece of freedom was through their language, through their use of words to paint a different picture than the one in front of them. In the article, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Catherine Lord explains autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, as a neurodevelopmental syndrome that is defined by deficits in social reciprocity and communication, and by unusual restricted, repetitive disorder (2000. P355). Parenting a child on the autism spectrum is difficult for any parent who is uneducated about the specific disorder their child is faced with. ASD can alter a person s functioning at different levels from very mildly to sever. Although autism is a disorder that causes complications with social interactions and learning abilities, people with ASD can vary from severely challenged to gifted. Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys (Autism.2017.Para4). The National Institute of Health suggest that autism is one of the fastest growing developmental disorders in the United States (2016.Para7). ASD is unique in that it is common for people with ASD to have many strengths and abilities. Scientists does not know the exact causes of ASD, but research suggest that genes and environment play important roles (NIH.2016.Para2). Most parents often blame themselves when they have a child with special needs. Because of its links to genetics and neural development and the severe abnormalities in social interaction by which it is defined, autism offers the opportunity for scientists to study the neurobiological origins of social communication skills basic to human behavior (Lord. 2000.P2). The National Autism Association points out that autism itself does not affect life expectancy, however research has shown that the mortality risk among individuals with autism is twice as high as the general population, in large part due to drowning and other accidents (2017. Para1). Comorbid conditions often associated with autism include ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also the emotional well being on an individual or community. Sometimes an aggressive action by the opposing team turns to hatred and that s a point that can elevate into a rivalry. A fan is someone who actually dedicates part of their every day to the teams her or she follows. That goes for even the days their team doesn t perform the way they should have, because not every team can win them all. There are some sports fans out there and others who are more into the game and or team they show pride in are called fanatics. Both, fans and teams often view aggressiveness directed toward them as disrespectful. Sports rivalries are what fans and even what some of the athletes playing in the sports live for and wait the long season just to play in that one game. A lot of things or factors go into a rivalry to make it a good one . Some examples include how aggressive the teams may be, any backstabbing going on. For example if a player gets traded or leaves the school and finds itself playing his former team, Local pride, and the fan environment surrounding the team. Sometimes an aggressive action by ones team stirs up hatred between teams. The backstabbing element is also an interesting one. Cleveland fans will remember ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Personal Reflection of Media Use Essay Over the past week I have been keeping track of my media use. I discovered I lead a pretty repetitive technological lifestyle. Weekday mornings I start my media consumption via my alarm clock on my cell phone. Why not use the regular alarm clock? Because with a cell phone I do not have to get up and out of bed in the morning the snooze button is even closer to my barely awake fingertips. After hitting the snooze button at least once I make a point to check out Facebook because we all know everyone is constantly updating at 5:45 every morning. I am not sure if either of these are purchased because of commercials I ve seen on television or out of convenience of making packing a lunch easier. On my way home I found I listen to the radio but not as closely singing along to some songs, shazming ones I may not know. I get home and relax by watching television. I will continue to browse Facebook (and admit to my addiction to it), look up recipes on pintrest. This past week I ve been super focused on Superbowl food as I am hosting a Superbowl party. • 44. Poverty Is The State Of Being Extremely Poor Brett Haba Haba 1 Mr. Adam Klein English 1301 30 November 2015 Poverty In America What does poverty mean? It is the state of being extremely poor. For many American poverty is living paycheck to paycheck. In a lot of cases most of these people find themselves without income and are unable to support their self or their family. Poverty has not just recently come about, it has been around for many years. The number of Americans living in poverty in the United States was estimated to be 35.9 million in 2003 and 12.9 were children (Census.gov). Innocent children are impacted greatly when they are growing up in poverty stricken families. Research has shown that poverty tends to be passed along from one generation to the next. Those who are against poverty all agree that something needs to be done about it, but not many of Americans do anything about this continuing issue. Most people do not take action because their lack of information provided about the issues on poverty. The issues of poverty are not important enough for the American media to keep everyone informed on the issues relating to poverty. A lot of programs were created in the 1960 s that were aimed at assisting poverty stricken families, removing slum areas, creating educational and health programs to assist families in need. It is imperative to note that the discrimination of schizophrenic persons gives birth to self devaluation. With that said, schizophrenic persons who experience discrimination in his or her life will feel distant from society, similar to being an outcast or a black sheep. This may be the reason why self stigma generates lower self esteem and lower self efficacy which drastically lowers quality of life. In addition, self devaluation leads to a decreased readiness to change and an increased declination of treatment within the behavior of patients. Next, an explanation of some of the changes that have occurred during the history of REBT and a call for some future developments. Finally, some criticisms of REBT are debated. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Past, Present, and Future Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) was first developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 (Dryden, David, Ellis, 2009). Albert Ellis was influenced by the teachings of many different stoic philosophers, including Epictetus, which taught that humans are not disturbed by the actual things that happen to them but by their perception of those things (Dryden et al., 2009). Hence, Ellis termed this therapy rational psychotherapy in order to emphasize the cognitive aspect of his therapy and to differentiate it from other psychoanalytic therapies (Dryden et al., 2009). However, he had to change the name of his therapy to rational emotive therapy in 1961 due to critics accusations of the therapy ignoring clients emotions, and then again in 1993 to rational emotive behavior therapy in order to emphasize the behavior aspect of therapy (Dryden et al., 2009).
