The Gospels Of Matthew, Mark And Luke
Jesus longest prophecy about the time of the end is found in the synoptic Gospels of Matthew,
Mark and Luke, with each giving their own accounts of the day that they were with Him on the
Mount of Olives. It is commonly referred to as The Olivet Prophecy, and it is an overview of the
circumstantial events that will lead to Jesusreturn. This prophecy was given during the week
before His crucifixion, and it is pivotal to understanding the future events that will affect the
entire world. The prophecy begins when Jesus and His disciples, having left the Temple, were
sitting on the Mount of Olives. They were enjoying a spectacular view and unexpectedly, Jesus
threw the disciples a curve when He announced that the beautiful Temple they were admiring
was going to be destroyed. Being curious and very concerned, Peter, James, John, and Andrew
asked Him to tell them when this prophecy of such end time doom was going to take place. Jesus
is so smart; He knew that they would want to know more. The apostle Mark s account of the
Olivet Prophecy which is found in Mark 13 says that Jesus revealed to them the conditions that
would be present on the Earth that would lead up to His return. He said it would be a time of
increasing trouble and turmoil. He warned them that at a future time on Earth; man would have the
capability to destroy all of human life. Matthew, however, gives a more descriptive account of what
Jesus said that day, For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not

A Study on a Boy with Sickle Cell Anemia
In Des Moines, Iowa a 16 year old boy by the name of Isaiah Newsome suffers from a debilitating
genetic disorder called sickle cell anemia which affects mostly African Americans in the United
States. Everyday Isaiah manages his pain daily by dipping into a bag of pills; blood transfusions
are done every three weeks to replace the dead or misshaped cells, and for his weakened bones he
has a procedure called an infusion every two months. Sickle cell anemia is a disorder that affects
the red blood cell(RBC) causing it to appear under developed in a sickle shape. The shape of the
sickle cell impedes on the ability of the hemoglobin(Hgb) to attach on to the RBC which deprives
starving tissues and organs in rich oxygenated blood (Jackson, 2014). Some recent
advancements in bone marrow transplant has proven to cure some cases of sickle cell disease
but because of the risk involved with the procedure, approval to use bone marrow transplant
widely has not been implemented (NHLBI 2009). By understanding sickle cell disease and
increase funding for research is imperative to move forward aiding the improvements of
management and treatments for sickle cell disease (SCD) with a goal of finding a cure for
sickle cell. In 1910 Dr. James B. Herrick published a paper identifying an abnormal shape of
RBCs. He took care of a young dental student by the name of Walter Clement Noel; he was
admitted into the hospital for episodes of pain and anemia like symptoms. Samples of his blood

Teamwork In Freak The Mighty
In the book, Freak the Mighty, there are many themes that support the idea, The whole is greater
than the sum of its parts. The two main characters, Max and Kevin, both get bullied for having
physical and mental challenges. They quickly realize that they can work together and combine
their strengths. Kevin teaches Max words from his vocabulary and expands his creativity. Max
helps Kevin become more mobile, by carrying him on his shoulders, allowing them to have
imaginative adventures in the book. They become a team against bullies. Throughout this story,
they learn the value of teamwork. Kevin and Max are two outcasts that form a team. An example
of this is when Tony D. and his gang chase Max and Kevin and they work as a team to get away.

The Freedom Of Bear Arms
One major issue in the United States today is the freedom to bear arms. There are split beliefs on
this issue. Some people are against people being permitted to have a firearm because guns kill
people. Other people are for being permitted to have a firearm because guns do not kill people on
their own. It is the person behind the gun pulling the trigger that kills a person. In this paper, I will
discuss both sides of this huge, nationwide issue.
The founding fathers, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas
Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington, were the men that were the first to discuss
about this resolution. Here are a select few of their thoughts on gun control, A free people ought to
be armed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that we citizens should be permitted to hold a firearm and it shall not be taken or
confiscated from us.
Aaron Weiss, a combat veteran of Iraq, now a law enforcement officer, had some strong words to
say about the Safe Act and about people and their rights. He states, I gave up a lot for this
country, including my youth, and better men then me gave up a whole lot more so that all of
you, myself included, can enjoy the rights that are guaranteed to us in our Constitution and Bill
of Rights. We didn t go through all of that to come back and watch you surrender what we fought
for happen based off of the demented acts of two mad men. He is pretty much stating that our
rights and freedom should not be taken away just because of stupid people. Aaron is a strong
supporter of being aloud to have a firearm. For example, what would happen if you and your
family were at home, someone broke into your house, they had a gun, and you did not? It would
be a lot easier for the burglar to get away because he would not be scared of you as much. Now
let us say you do have a gun. That changes everything because either the burglar would be more
scared of you and would try to hurry up and escape, or if he was a real psychopath, he might try to
shoot at you and your family.
People should have the right to carry a firearm everywhere they go, as long as they have a permit
with them. My English teacher, Mr.

Essay On Oklahoma City Bombing
Boom. That is the sound of hearts falling and shattering with the walls of the Alfred P. Murrah
federal building on April 19, 1995. No one anticipated the chaos that would break loose that
morning. At the time, those who witnessed the tragic event were not aware of the cause. The only
thing they knew was that blood had been spilled, and stained the innocence of mankind. Twenty
one years later, the memory of this disastrous event still burns and aches in the hearts of
Oklahomans as well as the family and friends of the victims. Though cognitive and physical effects
of the Oklahoma City bombingare permanent, humanity s desire to do good and progress greatly
overshadows it.

Although like everything in life, people need certain boundaries. When being questioned about the
bombing, Timothy McVeigh would admit that the cause was hatred towards the American
government. He was one of many that that was enraged with the events in Waco, Texas and
Ruby Ridge. The early 1990 s were described to be a time of dramatic upheaval (Clinton). People
were upset, and the easiest thing to do for some was to gather and oppose their own government.
But the sense that Waco and Ruby Ridge were somehow not the fault of those who were advocating
violence and armed to the teeth and prepared to exercise it, but the government that was attempting
to enforce the law. And so it became symbolic (Clinton). They were so busy pointing fingers; they
forgot the beauty of brotherhood and violated their freedoms. Freedom of speech is not bombing a
federal building just because you disagree with their methods. The boundaries set in place by the
government attempt to limit those who corrupt freedom. In events such as the Oklahoma City
bombing, blameless American people faced the fallout of McVeigh s destruction. What was

Emission analysis was carried out in an authorized pollution testing center. Test was conducted in
two sections. First emission characteristics of the vehicle was studied. In the next section
oxyhydrogen kit was connected to the vehicle and same procedure was followed. A comparison
between before and after connection of the oxyhydrogen kit is tabulated in table 3.
1)Carbon monoxide
Carbon monoxide is one of the main exhaust gas component in case IC engines. It is generated
mainly due to the incomplete combustion of fuel, when enough oxygen is not available, two carbon
molecules combines with a single oxygen molecule and carbon monoxide is thus formed. It is
colourless, odourless, and tasteless gas that is slightly less dense than air. It is toxic to humans and
animals when encountered in higher concentrations.
When oxyhydrogen kit is connected, hydrocarbons might have undergoing complete combustion or
tend to follow complete combustion by the aid oxygen which is a part of oxyhydrogen. Also the
chance for increased combustion duration also exists.

Essay on The Importance of Following Orders
The importance of following orders in a time of war. 1. Team member2. Discipline 3. Causalities
Conclusion: Following Orders in the Armed Services in a Time of War By: Pv2 Beasley
Imagine being in an authoritative position in a war. Sounds cool right? Now imagine if your
subordinates didn t follow the orders you put out to them. You just imagined chaos right? In my
opinion there is no limit to the chaos that could happen if just one soldier didn t follow the orders
given to him/her. It doesn t matter what the rank of the soldier is. Following orders in the armed...

The team I m referring to is simply a cooperative unit. Being a part of a team entitles you to be
responsible for your actions, follow the orders of your subordinates, and perform them with
honor integrity and selfless service. How can following orders in a time of war affect your team
members? Imagine if you are on deployment to Iraq and you or a fellow soldier were told by
your supervisor to fill up the gas cans and bring them down to the motor pool once they were
filled and fill the vehicles up. What if you or the soldier decided to perform the order in your
own time and you/ they forget. Now imagine your team is given an order to move out due to
hostile parties moving in. Your team goes to the vehicles start them up and realize they are all
low on gas. I hope that expresses the importance of following orders while being a part of the
armed services in a time of war. The members of the armed forces are well know, and well
respected for their discipline. Part of that discipline comes from the ability to follow the orders
of your subordinates, even if they don t feel like it or don t agree with them. How disciplined
can a soldier be if they don t follow orders. The soldier in question can t be very disciplined if
they fail to follow instructions right? It goes against everything a soldier stands for. This makes
them a danger to their team members, especially in a time of war. I do not think

Assessing Conceptual Understanding of Rational Numbers Essay
Assessing Conceptual Understanding of Rational Numbers and Constructing a Model of the
Interrelated Skills and Concepts
Students continue to struggle to understand rational numbers. We need a system for identifying
students strengths and weaknesses dealing with rational numbers in order to jump the hurdles that
impede instruction. We need a model for describing learning behavior related to rational numbers
prerequisite skills and development of rational number sense that is dynamic and allows for
continuous growth and change. It would inform us of the important background knowledge that
students bring with them and the prior experiences that influence their level of understanding. It
would further enable us to assess students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is being suggested is to bring it all together in a practical way. Briefly highlighting various
assessments and reports that have identified and highlighted the importance of conceptual
understanding enables one to trace back to the hatching of the idea. In addition, outlining the course
that got us to where we are today, trying to determine what it means to understand something and
how understanding can be assessed assists us in continuing that course of action in the right
direction.
In 1980, recommendations were made by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics for
reforming mathematics instruction in An Agenda for Action. These recommendations were based
on results of the second National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and on data
collected by the National Science Foundation (NSF) largely from a study called Priorities in School
Mathematics (PRISM). Specifically in the area of fractions, NAEP contended that students inability
to compute with fractions was the result of dependence on rote memorization of algorithms and a
focus strictly on routine problems. Among eight recommendations, An Agenda for Action called for
problem solving to be the focus of school mathematics in the 80 s and basic skills in mathematics to
be more than computational fluency. The fourth NAEP showed improvement, but indicated that
mathematics instruction still lacked depth,

In The Tempest , there are two different types of magic that are being explored, one is the art of
evil through the use of Black Magic and the other being the study of meta physics and the
unknown through the use of White Magic. The black aspect of magic is revealed through the
character of the evil witch Sycorax. The white aspect of magic is revealed through the well
developed character of Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan. The good aspect of magic is
developed to a much greater extent than the evil aspect of magic. The black magic, whether in the

The Biblical Interpretation Of Exodus And song Of...
After Reformation period, the allegorical biblical interpretation was criticized and rejected by
contemporary biblical interpretation theory, and a lot of Christian evangelical churches. However,
as a long tradition stems from the early church, allegorical interpretation has never been
disappeared; on the contrary, it was one the most important exegesis tradition in the history of
Chinese Protestant Church. Many fundamentalist theologians and church leaders were influenced
by this method, while Jia Yuming is one of the representative figures. The aim of this paper is to
present the characteristic of Jia Yuming` s allegorical biblical interpretation, and to explore the
contribution of his exegesis in Sino Christian theology. Jia` s allegorical biblical interpretation was
influenced by several theological thoughts. Graduated from Presbyterian seminary, he accepted
reformed theology, and then he was influenced by pietistic theology and Charismatic movement,
turned to allegorical exegesis. In this paper, I will take Jia` s interpretation of Exodus and Song
of Solomon as examples to analyze its characteristics. The book of Exodus consists of two genres,
narratives and laws, which were interpreted by Jia` s allegorical method. The Song of Songs is
considered to be the most obscure book to interpret in the Bible, and is often interpreted as an
allegory.

All of the above mentioned forms of botulism can be fatal and should be considered a medical
emergency. Foodborne botulism is a public health emergency because many people can be
contaminated. What kind of germ is Clostridium botulinum? Clostridium botulinum is an
anaerobic, Gram positive, spore forming rod that produces a potent neurotoxin. (U.S. Food and
Drug Administration, 2015) This germ can be found in soil, is rod shaped, it also thrives in a low
oxygen environment. This germ creates spores that lay dormant until they come into conditions
that foster their growth and support. There are seven categories of botulinum toxin. Letters
specify those types. Those categories are A, B, C, D, E, F. Categories A, B, E, and F are the only
types that cause illness in humans. What is the frequency of Botulinum Toxin? The incidence of
the disease is low, but the mortality rate is high if not treated immediately and properly. (U.S.
Food and Drug Administration, 2015) The United States has averaged one hundred forty five
reported cases of Botulism a year. Fifteen percent of those being foodborne, sixty five percent being
infant Botulism, and twenty percent being wound Botulism. (CDC, 2015) The frequency of the
disease is low, but the mortality rate is high if not treated immediately and properly. Some cases of
botulism may be undiagnosed or misdiagnosed because the symptoms are transient or mild, and

Do Supplemental Software And Technology Help English As A...
The research question the group asks is, Do supplemental software and technologies help
English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learner (ELL) students in both
short and long term ways? Our target population for this study is college students that are ELLs.
Finding participants is one part of the study, but since we are researching students on a college
campus they will have to be at least 18 to 30 years old to participate in the study. UMKC has a
very large and diverse campus; we will reach out to the Applied Language Institute (ALI) students
through a class survey. We decided that college would be a better population to start out with
because it provides many social opportunities. We are looking for a population that will provide us
with direct feedback from the trial. Students in college will know how they learn and be able to
explain how technology either helped them or hurt them while learning. Having students participate
on campus also ensures that they have access to internet and WiFi. We are aware that there are
many limitations that face college students, but there are also benefits to choosing students in
college.

The participants in the study range from 18 to 30 years old. We did not specify what year we are
looking for in college. We just wanted to have adults participate. If there are students that do not fit
into the age range, they should be noted as younger and provide parental consent in order to ensure

Although both stories follow along with the same idea, they are entirely two different stories.
Having lesser detail, the original fairy tale was very short and only gave the main character a

kid friendly story. The Grimm Brothers created a dark and simple fairy tale that was full of
unexpected twists and turns. Each sentence was very simple, and didn t add unnecessary details. I

The Components Of Social Conflict And Social Identity Theory
Tal classifies this mechanism as sociopsychological infrastructure. It manifests in collective
memory, the ethos of conflict and collective emotional orientation (p.1430). These are the
mechanism that distinguishes one group from another. Hence the collective memory, the ethos of
conflict and collective emotional orientation are what member of a group share, against the other .
A classic case of we against them. The question of how these operate from an individual s point of
view becomes imperative.
Social Identity Theory
Tajfel Turner, (1979) the proponents of social identitytheory helped in the understanding of
intergroup relations. Their focus was on the complex interweaving of an individual or interpersonal
behavior with contextual social processes of intergroup conflict (p.276). social identity theory,
therefore emphasizes intergroup relations (relationship of an individual has with his group and
between an outgroup) and categorical distinction (what sets an individual apart from another
outgroup) . Korostelina describes this as the processes of identification with other group members
(p.23). Personal identities are consequently reflected in an individual s social identity. For instance,
an individual with an Islamic conviction cannot be found in a church on a Sunday. Social identity
theory holds that individuals establish who they are and the group they belong, basically because
there is one form of similarity or another hence, by categorization,

2. Children sexual exploitation in Thailand:
From 1962 Thailand became a destination for sex tourism due to the affluence of American military
personnel in the country. The military used to go there during the Vietnam War in order to rest and
distract themselves. From then on Thailand became a land of origin, transit and destination for
children trafficking. Nowadays the number of Thai children involved in the sex industry is
decreasing as a result of legislation, economical and educational improvements, many children from
neighboring border countries are being trafficked into Thailand, or ethnic tribes children trafficked
within the country from the north. Thailand s efforts in the struggle against children sexual
exploitation are made less effective because of difficulties in enforcing the law: cases of child
sexual exploitation are not the main concern for police and there are complications in reporting
cases to local authorities because of the language gap and corruption.

Great Expectations Manipulation
Some people spend their whole life trying to accomplish a particular something. It might be an
achievement or just simply trying to be perfect, but what actually define us as a person and the
true value of our lives? How can we possibly know if the life we are living now will be worthy in
the end and we will not regret anything when we look back onto it? In Great Expectationsby Charles

Persuasive Essay On Minimum Wage
The United States of America has often times been described as the land of opportunity, where a
person can come to America with nothing but a dream, and make those dreams possible. With
hard work, determination, and a plan, there are no limitations to the amount of success a person
can achieve. Due to America s economic growth, top colleges and universities, and the freedom

Student s First Amendment Rights: Kindergarten Student Playing a Game If a student says, I am
going to shoot you during recess to his friends, does the school have a right to take disciplinary
actions? Is it a violation of the student s First Amendment? School officials can restrict speech
activities on any student in a school if it has been established there was harm or threats made
against others, including teachers. Although the First Amendment states freedom of expression,
school officials may punish students for expressing their personal views on school grounds. With
the case of S.G. v. Sayreville Board of Education [1], a school s right to discipline a student was
questioned by parental guardianship. The Case: S.G. v. Sayreville Board of Education (2003)
Wilson Elementary School in Sayreville, New Jersey, began disciplining a number of students for
making remarks of threat and acts of gun violence against teachers and students. Over the course of
a week (in early March 2000), three unrelated incidences occurred: one elementary student stated I
m going to shoot you towards another student, a second student threatened to shoot a teacher with
his parent s gun, and a third student threatened to put a gun in a classmate s mouth to kill him.
From the time of the incidences and suspensions given to all the students involved, the principal,
Georgia Baumann addressed every class in regards to the severity of making threatening actions
with a weapon.

How Did Rome Change Over Time
The same way the planet earth changes over time, the same can be said about societies, and in
this specific case about Rome. Societies usually change over time to improve themselves as a
whole whether it s from new teachings of concepts like math, language, fashion, philosophy and so
much more. The changes usually hit the younger generation the hardest because it will become
their new way of life from then on. The way Rome changed over time was called Hellenization
where Greek culture and language becomes the dominant ideology. The Romans knew that these
new Greek teachings will enhance the Roman society by starting off with their kids, but there were
also those who opposed it. The slaved Greeks were brought to Rome to become teachers/tutors in
order to infuse Greek language and culture into the Roman culture. The younger generation of
Romans were so in love with the new teachings that they dropped their ancestors ways to learn
something new. The transformation of the old traditional Roman ways to the new Greek ideology

The Greek teachers and tutors will educate the kids on how to speak in public, solve math
problems that they wouldn t have been able to solve before and just greatly expand their
knowledge way beyond what the Romans themselves would have never of reached in that amount
of time. As a parent, they want their kids to be intelligent as well as successful. To the parents, if
becoming intelligent through the Greeks makes someone richer, then it s a bonus to the family.
This is similar to current time where students go to college to get a degree to make more money in
life. Parents usually want the best for their offspring and they know that sometimes change is
necessary for them to have a better

Teen Stereotypes
In the United States teenage pregnancy outside of marriage is labeled as a social problem.
Society views young, poor, single teenage mothers as an liability and not an asset. Teenage
mothers are stereotyped as (a) welfare dependent (b) irresponsible (c) lazy (d) ignorant and (e)
promiscuous. However, the majority of society believes that their taxes were higher because of
government benefits that teenage mothers and their babies receive. The negative stereotype
regarding teenage pregnancyin society can be very damaging and discouraging to a young mother
who simply made a mistake but still have dreams and goals in which she plans to obtain through
continuing her education and obtaining a good job to support her as well as her child. But, with the
negativity it can hinder her progress, resilience, and well being.... Show more content on

Martin Luther King s Argument Against Affirmative Action
Today s society emphasizes the need of equal opportunities; everyone should have equal chances
despite their race, gender, or other characteristics. However, there are still many barriers and
biases, often unconscious, which do not let to embrace the potential of everyone. Even though
Civil Right Era made a good improvement, because of the long years of legal racismand sexism,
ethnic minority members and women are still disadvantaged by the system. It is obvious that
something should be done about it and one of the ways to reduce inequality is affirmative action.
Affirmative action is an amalgam of federal, state, and local ordinances and other legislative
mandates to remedy inequities in employment for traditionally marginalized groups ... Show more

Martin Luther King Jr. was definitely one of the most influential characters in the history of
equal rights. He was the one who brought world s attention to unequal and unfair treatment of
African Americans. Although he was assassinated before affirmative action was introduced, he
agreed that some actions should be taken in order to reduce inequality: We must come to see
that the roots of racism are very deep in our country, and there must be something positive and
massive in order to get rid of all the effects of racism and the tragedies of racial injustice (King,
1968). For policy to work and to have space for improvement it is extremely important to have
support from the society. Majority of Americans favor affirmative action and the support have
been growing in the past years. Currently, 70% say they favor affirmative action programs, up
from 58% in 1995 (The Pew Research Center, 2009:39). 94% of African Americans favored such
programs and 65% of whites, compared to 53% in 1995, support affirmative action (The Pew
Research Center, 2009:40). Furthermore, sixty five leading Fortune 500 companies (ex. Coca
Cola, Intel, Kraft Foods, Nike, Pepsi, Microsoft, 3M etc.) stated their support for affirmative action
during the court process Grutter v. Bollinger, where Barbara Grutter filed the law suit, claiming
that the University of Michigan Law School denied her admission because school applied race as a
dominant factor in application process. The existence of racial and ethnic diversity in institutions
of higher education is vital to amici s efforts to hire and maintain a diverse workforce, and to
employ individuals of all backgrounds who have been educated and trained in diverse environment
(Brief For Amici Curiae. 65 Leading American Businesses in Support of Respondents, 2003:1).

The Human Psyche, By Michel De Montaigne And Sir Francis...
When King David considered the majesty and greatness of God, he felt insignificant by
comparison, and asks, what is man that you are mindful of him? In Psalm 8 of The Bible, David
stands in awe of the majesty of the Lord, and when he realizes how vast and magnificent God truly
is, he is even more amazed that God would take the time to notice him a mere mortal man. Buried
deep in the humanpsyche is the desire to explore the subjects that give human life meaning, and the
question of what it means to be human has been a source of contemplation for as long as recorded
history. The Renaissance essayists, Michel de Montaigne and Sir Francis Bacon, with their
immense minds and insatiable curiosity, used the literary form of the essayin an attempt to capture
the world in its entirety and its diversity: every thought, every experience, and every inquiry in their
work questions the intrinsic value of humanity. The intelligence and imagination of these two
essayists becomes a small universe , in which the individual can articulate the way in which humans
think about the world and their relation to it. Montaigne s essay, Of Experience (1580 92), and
Bacon s Of Studies and Of Truth ( 1625) are critical meditations that raise fundamental questions
about the nature of human endeavour, and suggest that knowledge of what it means to be human is
to be found in observation through experience, rather than through reason alone. The writers and

AGRI 4000 PRACTICING THE PROFESSION OF AGROLOGIST

Introduction
The agriculture industry in Nigeria has opportunities that are not maximized due to challenges it is
facing.
Background
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with a population of 177,155,754 and was governed
by the British government till October 1st, 1960 when Nigeria gained independence. The Capital of
Nigeria is Abuja located in the centre of the country. Nigeria is located in West Africa between

Food security is still a major issue in Nigeria as a large percentage of the societies are agrarian
societies. The government has to concentrate more on the development of modern technology and
increase financial investment in the agricultural sector. Nigerian agricultural productivity is still
low when compared to major producers in the world (FAO, 2013). It has both human and natural
resources that can make it to be among the best economies in the world. Nigeria has been working
on reform agenda for the past few years.
Furthermore, economic growth is targeted towards domestic market. This is driven by strong
performance of agriculture, trade, telecommunications and manufacturing sectors. However, this
strong economic growth has not led to higher employment rates. Unemployment is still a major
issue in Nigeria. The government addresses the public s dissatisfaction in its governance with
promises to make job creation a priority. Nigerian government is targeting information
communication technology (ICT), entertainment, meat, leather, and construction and tourism
industries for job creation. Nigeria is made up of about 200 ethnic groups. There are more than 400
languages in Nigeria. The main ethnic groups are Hausa Fulani in the North, Ibo in the Southeast
and Yoruba in the Southwest. Nigeria plays a key role in the African Union, the New Partnership
for Africa s Development (NEPAD), and the Economic Community of West Africa States

1.3 7 S model for Abercrombie and Fitch.
This model was developed by Tom Peters, Robert Waterman and Julien Philips with a help from
Richard Pascale and Anthony G. Athos in 80s and even now haven t lost its relevance as
management planning tool. Model presents 7 key elements of the company such as: Structure,
Strategy, Skills, Staff, Style, Systems, and Shared Values. The main point of the model is that all
the seven areas are interconnected and a change in one area requires change in the rest of a firm for
it to function effectively.
As we may see above all elements are connected in the particular way: Strategy, Systems and
Structure together are called Hard Ss the rest Soft Ss .
The model can be applied to many situations but, mostly such framework is used in order to:
To facilitate organizational change.
To help implement new strategy.
To identify how each area may change in a future.
To facilitate the merger of organizations.
We used this approach in order to determine previous position of the company and evaluate that
kind of changes have already been implemented by new board of directors. ... Show more content

How Did The Palestine Revolution Affect The Creation Of...
For more than 1200 years, Muslims ruled Palestine completely. For centuries Muslims, Christians
and Jews coexisted peacefully in Palestine. Therefore, the Ottoman Empire was controlling that
region until the early twentieth century. The majority of Palestine s population was Muslims
roughly around 85%, Christians were 10%, and the Jewswere around 5%.
In the end of the 19th century, Zionist schemes surfaced and the Palestinian plight began. At the
time, in 1878, Palestine population was around 460,000 and the Jews were just around 3%.
Nevertheless, with the rise of the European nationalism, more Jews suffered persecution, so they
started to organize and think of emigrating from Europe, but they didn t know where to go. That is
what the Jewish journalist Theodor Hertzel answered in his book where he called for a national
homeland for the Jews. Hertzel suggested Palestine, Argentine and other places in Africaas well.
However, many Jewish conferences took place to collect funding and support for this cause. As a
result, Palestine was the chosen to be that place. Then the immigration of the Jews to Palestine
began.
In 1882, around 23,000 Jews came to Palestine from Eastern Europe and Russia, so the population

The Three Categories Of Civil Peace
With every object that people have and every experience that people go though, they can be
categorized into three categories: needs, wants, and negatives. Wants and needs, the two positive
categories, are prioritized differently by everyone. People often misinterpret some parts of these
categories, believing certain wants are needs and vice versa. For example, some people see makeup
as a needto go outside, it is really just a want. This is how addictions form. When people categorize
a want as need, however subconsciously, they end up truly needing that, whether it be drugs,
alcohol, or even sugar. On the other hand, when people prioritize their wants, they often will be
happier in life, even though they are in worse situations than many of... Show more content on

For example, in Golden Touch, King Midas realizes Gold is not everything... And I have lost all
that my heart really cared for, (Golden Touch 452). He comes upon this realization by putting
his wants over his needs, and realizes that that can be harmful. In this story, he changes to
prioritize his needs foremost after going through the trauma of almost losing his daughter.
Additionally, in Warriors Don t Cry, Melba s family feared for her safety, but they also felt that
the push for integration was a god given mission, (Melba 3). Melba was already experiencing
bullying, and this would increase that, but they felt that they needed to integrate Melba. After the
suffering that she endured from other students, people realized that skin color does not matter.

The Root Cause And Conflict Of The Conflict
Defined the root cause(s) of the conflict. I would submit that the root cause of the conflict was
contingent upon the individual that you focus on. Initially, there was no root cause for conflict
on behalf of my colleague (Dora). It would be a stretch to say that she would fall under Maslow

The Groundwater Of California Is A Serious Policy Matter
The groundwater of California is a serious policy matter in legislation. If there is drought, such as

the water used by California (cite). Unfortunately, there are not many laws established to regulate

The whole Hall of Justice, it s empty, it s deserted, it s gone out of business. Forever (Kushner 78).
Although it was deserted simply due to the fact that it was Sunday, the empty Hall of Justice
symbolizes freedom. Specifically, this can be seen when Joe states, It would be...heartless terror.

back of the classroom. At that time, the most bothersome traits about me was that I was shy,
reticent, and anxious. I swore there must have been something wrong with me, how hard could it
be to approach another student and simply talk or just plainly introduce myself. Although, I
attempted to be as optimistic as I possibly could, I would still be able to be with my friends at lunch,
afterschool, or parties. Another part of me that was incommodious was that I clung onto my friends,
they truthfully were extremely supportive and entertaining people to be around, I cherished each
and every one of the our memories together but sadly, we gradually drifted apart. Instantaneously,

Photosynthesis of Elodea
Photosynthesis
Abstract: An experiment was carried out to determine how certain factors such as light intensity
and availability of carbon dioxide, affected the rate of photosynthesis. The rate of photosynthesis
was measure by the amount of oxygen produce (cm3/min).
A valid conclusion was made and most of the results were in accordance with the prediction,
although there were some anomalies present. The errors and limitations were evaluated and some
improvements were suggested.
Introduction:
Photosynthesis is an essential importance to organisms. It is the process by which green plants and
a few organisms convert sunlight energy into chemical energy which is stored in molecules.
Photosynthesis in green plants generally involves the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elodea was cut up into a 10cm length piece and bottom of stem was cut off allowing water to flow
through the xylem (use the same piece, allowing more accurate results) 2. Вѕ of a 500mL beaker
was filled with tap water 3. A glass funnel was placed in the beaker, along with the elodea (as
shown in the apparatus above) 4. A test tube was filled Вѕ with water 5. The test tube was then
quickly flipped over and was placed on top of the funnel (a shown in the apparatus above) 6.
Used a marker to mark where the water level of the test tube started 7. 10 seconds was allowed
for the elodea to begin the process of photosynthesis 8. The beaker containing the elodea was
then moved to a certain distance 9. After the lamp was switched on and was left turned on for 5
minutes 10. After 5 minutes, the new water level was recorded 11. This process was repeated at
various distances 12. This process was repeated again, however as a replacement for changing
distance away from lamp, concentration of NaHCO3 were changed (excluding the lamp)

Looking For Books For Business Classes
I went to the school store to buy books and I approached one of the student sellers and asked for
help. She first asked me how she could help me. I then told her I was looking for books for
business classes, so she directed me to the business section of the store. She then asked me what
the CRN was. I told her the CRN and she found the book. She then asked if I was buying the
book today, but I could not buy the book because it was more expensive than I thought. I told her
not today because of that reason. She then gave me the alternate option, which was to buy the
book online for a cheaper price. So I listened to her advice and brought the book online. This to
me was a great interaction because she didn t let me leave without knowing all my options, she
answer all of my questions, and helped me right away when I approached her. She used most of the
selling sequence.
Today I went to Walmart to buy a laptop fan because I notice my laptop overheated a lot. I went to
the electronic section and I was approached by a man and his name tag said Larry. He first asked
how can I help you today? He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the product I was asking
for. He asked me the price range I was looking to buy in, and the size and brand of my computer. I
told him and he suggested a laptop fan that is ran by just plugging into the laptop USB port. He
suggested the Tripp Lite NC2003SR Laptop Cooling Pad with 2 Built In USB Powered Fans . He

Rhetorical Analysis Of Banksy
Rhetorical Analysis of Banksy s The Son of a Migrant from Syria
With his piece The Son of a Migrant from Syria painted on the walls of a refugee camp in Calais,
France, anonymous British street artist, who is known by the pseudonym Banksy, enters the
politically fueled debate about the refugee and migrant crisis across the world. Western societies
in particular are concerned about the economic impact of accepting immigrants and refugees but
Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian migrant. Apple is the world s most profitable company, it pays
over $7 billion a year in taxes (Neuendorf, 2015) said by the rarely publicly outspoken street artist.

The British artist has no true public identity. With no background on the individual responsible
for the mural it is difficult to know if he carries any clout in the political or sociocultural world.
Banksy is known to be somewhat of a socialistic democrat, as implied by the genre of his art, but
otherwise there is no information given to assess his credibility. Given that Banksy is quite
popular and well known, his reputation reinforces his credibility as an opinionated street artist, but
not as a credible resource in regards to immigration policy and government aid. Banksy s affinity
towards political and socially controversial art makes it easy to understand his interests in issues
surrounding the treatment of migrants, refugees, and humanitarianism. However, his expertise in
the subject is made even less reliable due to the lack of relevance Steve Jobs has with the actual
situation. For example, Steve Jobs was the son of a migrant and not a migrant himself and he was
adopted and had never met his migrant father therefore he is not an accurate representative for
refugees or migrants. Banksy s visual appeal to ethos is virtually non existent for those unfamiliar
with his works. This may not effect the viewer s engagement in the argument but makes them
disregard Banksy s personal contribution to the argument. Overall, the appeal to Ethos appears to
be minimally effective in persuading the audience towards his

Robert Nixon was an African-American serial killer who...
Robert Nixon was an African American serial killer who confessed to five murders and multiple
assaults in Chicago and Los Angeles from 1936 to 1938. He was born on June 16, 1919, in the
small town Tallulah, Louisiana. The press gave Nixon the nickname Brick Moron after he
confessed to the brick bat murders (Arney). Edna Worden, her 12 year old daughter, Rose Valdez,
Elizabeth Rice, and Zoe Damrell were a few of his many victims. After Nixon was arrested, he was
sentenced to death and electrocuted on June 15, 1939 (Patillo).
In the Lewiston Daily, June Arney wrote that Nixon broke into a woman s home in Chicagoin 1936
and looted her house before beating her to death with his famous brick. In 1937, he continued his
killings in Los ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These stories worsened racial tensions in Chicago, and the murder and resulting press frightened the
white residents of the area, triggering white flight from the once elite areas that now bordered
black districts (Patillo). Nixon initially denied having any connection with the killings, but the
Los Angeles Police s fingerprint evidence proved him wrong. During his trial, he eventually
confessed to raping and murdering Anna Kuchta in 1937 and assaulting at least seventeen other
women. However, he blamed his accomplice, Earl Hicks, for the murder of Johnson during his
trial. Hicks, who was also under arrest, put the blame for Johnson s murder solely on Nixon.
Nixon s defense that his accomplice had killed the woman failed, and the Illinois Supreme Court
ruled that they both were equally responsible for this murder. Nixon was convicted of the murder
and was executed in the electric chair at the Cook County Jail in 1939 (Arney).
When Richard Wright completed his draft of Native Son, Robert Nixon was charged with
murdering a woman by beating her with a brick. In his essay, How Bigger Was Born , Wright
admitted to copying details from press stories of the Robert Nixon case. By mixing his own insight
into the urban slum experience of African Americans, Wright created the disturbing portrait of

The Satire Of Knighthood In Don Quixote
Don Quixote is a story of a chivalrous knight. The story highlights the satire of knighthood and
the tragedy of following your dreams. Cervantes is an older man who has given his life to books
and knowledge, especially books on knighthood and chivalry. He decides to embark on his journey
into knighthood at the age of 50, changing his name to Don Quixote. As Don Quixote travels
through the journeys of knighthood he ll learn many people don t appreciate chivalry.
Not all knights were chivalrous. Many knights abused power, went against the law, and were
greedy. Some arguably un chivalrous knights put Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, into prison.
That may have been where his inspiration came to create Don Quixote, a knight as chivalrous as ...

Don Quixote is everything a knight should be, he strives to do everything mentioned in the
Knights Code of Chivalry such as protecting the weak, living with honor, not to crave award,
being honest, respect women and to never refuse a challenge. Don Quixote does all of this to
the best of his ability, which brings the humor because he is a 50 year old man trying to fight
with a broken lance. Don Quixote also wears armor that isn t quiet up to standard. The first thing
he did was to clean up some armour that had belonged to his great grandfather, and had been for
ages lying forgotten in a corner eating with rust covered with mildew...but he perceived one great
defect in it, that it had no closed helmet, nothing but a simple morion. This deficiency, however, his
ingenuity supplied, for he contrived a kind of half helmet of pasteboard which, fitted on to the
morion, looked like a whole one (Miguel de Cervantes). I believe that Cervantes wrote broken down
armor for Don Quixote symbolizes knighthood at that time period. During that time period knights
often wore very proper pristine suits of armor but underneath that

Queen Elizabeth Procession To Blackfriar
The rebellion from Northern England also made the same fatal miscalculation of Elizabeth as the
Spanish did. In 1569, the predominantly Catholic northern part of England tried to rebel against
Queen Elizabeth, overthrow her, and put her cousin Mary Queen of Scots, whom was a Catholic,
on the throne. They expected it would be easy to overthrow her because they thought that the rest
of England would rally behind them and they would be able to over throw the weak and harmless
queen, whom loves her family to much. But, they were met with swords as the Southern England
went to fight the rebels for their queen, squashing and dismantling the rebellion. Elizabeth proved
to be as ruthless as any King, showing no signs of mercy or love that the rebellion... Show more

Rhetorical Analysis Of Black Lungs
Black Lungs
The media is one of the main influencers in our lives, although some of us may not like to admit it.
We rely on it to test products, provide reviews, and shape our views, among other things. With this
being the case, advertisers have found different ways to entice different audiences and provoke
emotional responses with imagery, sound, and audio cues. This essay about a media advertisement
will bring you through these aspects and explain them more in depth pertaining to my individual
piece. My advertisement was one meant to inform the audience on harmful practices that are
causing the destruction of our forests, and along with it our air. This advertisement is about
deforestation and our air quality.
Our continuous chopping of forests and trees has not only affected us and the forest, but animals
and tribes of people as well. So many living things depend on the forests to survive and without that
we may lose them. Chopping down trees increases the amount of carbon dioxide released into the
atmosphere thus making our air quality worsen. The picture ad really impacts the reader by
showing the picture of a bare forest that symbolizes our lungs, creating a double meaning and more
depth. This issue is very important to our health and the world s. The Help us save the air we
breathe advertisement uses imagery to intensify their points about deforestation and puts this issue
into perspective, causing action to be taken.

Primary Purpose Of Horses
The primary purpose of horses has definitely changed over decades. Around 4500 2500 BC,
horses and donkeys were primarily used for meat and milk, mounts, draft, and waging war. They
were used for traveling more than draft, since oxen were more effective with pulling and working
in the fields.
Overtime, the need for horses decreased in many areas that it was originally used for. Oxen were
preferred in drafting, travelling by horseback was not as efficient anymore, they were poor meat
animals, and more difficult to herd than sheep or cattle. These are the reasons that horses are not
considered a commodity since they aren t grown for production or very useful to many. In the
early 1700s, racing begins in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. People would bet on what
horse would win the race and it was, and still is, a competitive sport. During this time, horses
were still being used as draft animals and travel (for large plantations). Today, horses are primarily
used for recreational purposes like pleasure riding and racing. ... Show more content on

This cost included: feed, bedding, and manure management. For equine owners that breed
horses for shows, the cost increases a lot since they need extra care. The horse industry raises
horses to be sold and used for recreational uses like riding, or for shows. Horses also have a long
lifespan of 20 30 years, a lot longer than many commodities. Since horses can t be used for food
consumption, in the US, and the price to maintain one horse is so expensive, the profit the horse
industry is receiving is a lot lower than other commodities like poultry, cattle and

A Career in Social Work
A Career in Social Work
I chose to do research on a career as a social worker because, based on my Holland and MBTI
code, this career best combines the conventional, social, and realistic aspects of my personality. I
also feel that this career choice corresponds with my personal values, as it will allow me to channel
my communication and problem solving skills towards helping disadvantaged individuals and
families.
Entering the social work field requires considerable preparation. In California, as in most states, a
bachelor s degree in social work (BSW), as well as the completion of additional coursework
hours in areas such as child abuse assessment and alcohol/chemical dependency, is the minimum
requirement to become a Licensed Bachelor s Social Worker (LBSW). An LBSW must work
under the supervision of a Licensed Master Social Worker or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
licenses which both require a master s degree in social work (MSW). Most California State
University campuses in the southern California area offer accredited degrees in social work. In
particular, the University of Southern California offers a top ranked online MSW program. Full
time social workers must also be prepared to work 40 hours per week, occasionally working
evenings and weekends to meet deadlines, meet with clients, or handle emergencies. In addition to
fulfilling all these preparation requirements, successful social workers must be deeply
compassionate, a good listener, and an effective

Lonnie Bunch And Skorton s Athlete As Agent Of Change
Protesting is one of the most elevated forms of patriotism and for some time, athletes have been
using their fame to protest and promote a political agenda. This is mostly due to the high
population that follows them and listens to athletes. In the opinion article, Athlete as Agent of
Change , written by Lonnie Bunch and David Skorton, it describes how athletes are basically
representatives and the voice of the people. It is because of their fame and accomplishments that
people look up to them for inspiration. It is because of this that athletes should use their fame to
promote a political agenda. Sport has been used to show the worthiness of an estranged group and
nudge the nation to live up to its stated ideals. An example to the protests

Disorganized thinking (speech) disorganized thinking is inferred from disorganized speech.
Effective communication can be impaired, and answers to questions may be partially or completely
unrelated. Rarely, speech may include putting together meaningless words that can t be understood,
sometimes known as salad.
Extremely disorganized or abnormal motor behavior this may show in a number of ways, from
childlike silliness to unpredictable agitation. Behavior isn t focused on a goal, so it s hard to do
tasks. Behavior can include resistance to instructions, inappropriate or bizarre posture, complete
lack of response, or useless and excessive movement.
Negative symptoms this refers to reduce or lack of ability to function normally e.g. the person
may neglect personal hygiene or appear to lack emotion (doesn t make eye contact, doesn t change

Research Paper On Forest Fire
Air Quality with Forest Fires Since 1970, raging forest fires have doubled. Climate Central
reports, this is because of climate change which has brought hotter summers and longer fire
seasons. Throughout this paper, I will go over how forest fires are contributing to air pollution,
ground ozone, the impacts on humans, and the response to the problem. This is a problem that
individuals can t help but there are ways they can keep safe and stay healthy when forest fires
arise in their areas. Naturally occurring forest fires are a necessity for certain species like the
lodgepole pine tree. Fire helps reduce competition and help the species release its seeds.
According to National Geographic, each year there is an average of more than 100,000 forest
fires that clear 4 million to 5 million acres of land in the United States. Intense wildfires have
been on the rise, increasing to 9 million acres of land due to climate change, drought, and other
conditions. These fires can damage forests so badly that it takes years for them to naturally
recover. Forest fires are caused when you have the fire triangle which is fuel, oxygen, and a heat
source. The more fuel, trees, grasses, and brush, the more intense the fire can become. National
Geographic states, the West is the most common place in the United States for forest fires. Heat,
drought, and frequent thunderstorms are the perfect environment for a forest fire to start. California
experiences some of the worst fires because of the

The Swot Analysis And Summaries Of The SWOT Analysis
Section 2: SWOT Analysis
The theory of the SWOT analyses
The SWOT analysis aims to provide a short overview of a business s current strategic situation by
analyzing its internal factors, being strengths and weaknesses, alongside its external factors that
might have an impact on the businesses strategic choices, being the entity s opportunities and
threats (Anja Böhm, 2009: 1). The SWOT analysis is ultimately a tool which is used to analyze a
business s current situation in the market place and aims to identify a strategy for successful
development using the overlap between the internal and external factors. The acronym SWOT
simply stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (Nadine Pahl Anne Richter,
2009: 27).
Strengths ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the major limitations is that it doesn t offer any end solutions to develop a business s
strategic plans, but rather forms part of the process, as depicted in the above Diagram 1. It only
acts as a tool to help a business with their strategic decisions, and cannot produce the final
decision by itself. A full SWOT analysis often ends up producing long extensive lists of the
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which are not arranged in any particular way that
could reflect priorities. It does not rank the factors by importance. This can be a problem because
some effects of certain threats/weaknesses can be more serious and harmful to the businesses
competitive advantage than others but the SWOT analysis does not make this clear. It doesn t
highlight or single out any of the more important strengths and opportunities and this can
sometimes lead to favorable opportunities being lost among other mediocre ones. One of the
problems that often arises when conducting a SWOT analysis is that the same factor could be
placed in two different categories. This problem of ambiguity can cause disputes and confusion. An
example of this would be locating a retail store on the high upmarket streets of a big city. This is a
strength as it puts the store out there to lots of potential customers, but the weakness to this is that
it would have very high

Advantages And Disadvantages Of PFC Transverter
The objective of the control circuit for PFC converter are a near unity power factor should flow and
a steady average voltage should maintain at the output. Literature is abounded with novel PFC
control methods that address these objectives. These control methods can segmented into a few
categories in terms of their implementation approach and structures. Such as the multi loop
multiplier approach, the cycle by cycle integration approach, the single loop control approach and
the sliding mode controlapproach. Under these categories, some common PFC converter control
methods are discussed and their advantages and disadvantages of those methods [].
2.1.1.1Single loop approach
Single loop control methods allowed a single voltage control loop to regulate the output voltage.
The input current shaping is accomplished in an open loop manner, the duty cycle patterns are
predefined by considering in ideal PFC operation. One example in this control method is the duty
phase control (DPC) proposed by Chen [42]. In this method, a phase shift is willingly introduced to
the stored duty cycle patterns. The output voltage is regulated by adjusting this phase shift by using
the output of the voltage error amplifier, which is named the duty phase . This approach simplified
the control structure and eliminated the current loop, without the need to ... Show more content on

In this control method, the error voltage is integrated twice and to generate the reference signal for
current tracking, this signal referred to as the nonlinear carrier signal. In the current shaping,
instead of the sensed switch current for comparison, the sensed current is integrated to obtain an
average value before being compared with the nonlinear carrier signal. This approach reduces the
input current distortion and the noise immunity. Its physical realization is more complicated than

  • 2. The Gospels Of Matthew, Mark And Luke Jesus longest prophecy about the time of the end is found in the synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, with each giving their own accounts of the day that they were with Him on the Mount of Olives. It is commonly referred to as The Olivet Prophecy, and it is an overview of the circumstantial events that will lead to Jesusreturn. This prophecy was given during the week before His crucifixion, and it is pivotal to understanding the future events that will affect the entire world. The prophecy begins when Jesus and His disciples, having left the Temple, were sitting on the Mount of Olives. They were enjoying a spectacular view and unexpectedly, Jesus threw the disciples a curve when He announced that the beautiful Temple they were admiring was going to be destroyed. Being curious and very concerned, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him to tell them when this prophecy of such end time doom was going to take place. Jesus is so smart; He knew that they would want to know more. The apostle Mark s account of the Olivet Prophecy which is found in Mark 13 says that Jesus revealed to them the conditions that would be present on the Earth that would lead up to His return. He said it would be a time of increasing trouble and turmoil. He warned them that at a future time on Earth; man would have the capability to destroy all of human life. Matthew, however, gives a more descriptive account of what Jesus said that day, For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Study on a Boy with Sickle Cell Anemia In Des Moines, Iowa a 16 year old boy by the name of Isaiah Newsome suffers from a debilitating genetic disorder called sickle cell anemia which affects mostly African Americans in the United States. Everyday Isaiah manages his pain daily by dipping into a bag of pills; blood transfusions are done every three weeks to replace the dead or misshaped cells, and for his weakened bones he has a procedure called an infusion every two months. Sickle cell anemia is a disorder that affects the red blood cell(RBC) causing it to appear under developed in a sickle shape. The shape of the sickle cell impedes on the ability of the hemoglobin(Hgb) to attach on to the RBC which deprives starving tissues and organs in rich oxygenated blood (Jackson, 2014). Some recent advancements in bone marrow transplant has proven to cure some cases of sickle cell disease but because of the risk involved with the procedure, approval to use bone marrow transplant widely has not been implemented (NHLBI 2009). By understanding sickle cell disease and increase funding for research is imperative to move forward aiding the improvements of management and treatments for sickle cell disease (SCD) with a goal of finding a cure for sickle cell. In 1910 Dr. James B. Herrick published a paper identifying an abnormal shape of RBCs. He took care of a young dental student by the name of Walter Clement Noel; he was admitted into the hospital for episodes of pain and anemia like symptoms. Samples of his blood were ... • 5. The Freedom Of Bear Arms One major issue in the United States today is the freedom to bear arms. There are split beliefs on this issue. Some people are against people being permitted to have a firearm because guns kill people. Other people are for being permitted to have a firearm because guns do not kill people on their own. It is the person behind the gun pulling the trigger that kills a person. In this paper, I will discuss both sides of this huge, nationwide issue. The founding fathers, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington, were the men that were the first to discuss about this resolution. Here are a select few of their thoughts on gun control, A free people ought to be armed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means that we citizens should be permitted to hold a firearm and it shall not be taken or confiscated from us. Aaron Weiss, a combat veteran of Iraq, now a law enforcement officer, had some strong words to say about the Safe Act and about people and their rights. He states, I gave up a lot for this country, including my youth, and better men then me gave up a whole lot more so that all of you, myself included, can enjoy the rights that are guaranteed to us in our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We didn t go through all of that to come back and watch you surrender what we fought for happen based off of the demented acts of two mad men. He is pretty much stating that our rights and freedom should not be taken away just because of stupid people. Aaron is a strong supporter of being aloud to have a firearm. For example, what would happen if you and your family were at home, someone broke into your house, they had a gun, and you did not? It would be a lot easier for the burglar to get away because he would not be scared of you as much. Now let us say you do have a gun. That changes everything because either the burglar would be more scared of you and would try to hurry up and escape, or if he was a real psychopath, he might try to shoot at you and your family. People should have the right to carry a firearm everywhere they go, as long as they have a permit with them. My English teacher, Mr. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay On Oklahoma City Bombing Boom. That is the sound of hearts falling and shattering with the walls of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building on April 19, 1995. No one anticipated the chaos that would break loose that morning. At the time, those who witnessed the tragic event were not aware of the cause. The only thing they knew was that blood had been spilled, and stained the innocence of mankind. Twenty one years later, the memory of this disastrous event still burns and aches in the hearts of Oklahomans as well as the family and friends of the victims. Though cognitive and physical effects of the Oklahoma City bombingare permanent, humanity s desire to do good and progress greatly overshadows it. The events of April 19 were born of long term planning. Timothy McVeigh... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although like everything in life, people need certain boundaries. When being questioned about the bombing, Timothy McVeigh would admit that the cause was hatred towards the American government. He was one of many that that was enraged with the events in Waco, Texas and Ruby Ridge. The early 1990 s were described to be a time of dramatic upheaval (Clinton). People were upset, and the easiest thing to do for some was to gather and oppose their own government. But the sense that Waco and Ruby Ridge were somehow not the fault of those who were advocating violence and armed to the teeth and prepared to exercise it, but the government that was attempting to enforce the law. And so it became symbolic (Clinton). They were so busy pointing fingers; they forgot the beauty of brotherhood and violated their freedoms. Freedom of speech is not bombing a federal building just because you disagree with their methods. The boundaries set in place by the government attempt to limit those who corrupt freedom. In events such as the Oklahoma City bombing, blameless American people faced the fallout of McVeigh s destruction. What was supposed to be an ordinary day at work turned into a day of misery that left people without a mother, a father, a son, or even a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being a part of a team entitles you to be responsible for your actions, follow the orders of your subordinates, and perform them with honor integrity and selfless service. How can following orders in a time of war affect your team members? Imagine if you are on deployment to Iraq and you or a fellow soldier were told by your supervisor to fill up the gas cans and bring them down to the motor pool once they were filled and fill the vehicles up. What if you or the soldier decided to perform the order in your own time and you/ they forget. Now imagine your team is given an order to move out due to hostile parties moving in. Your team goes to the vehicles start them up and realize they are all low on gas. I hope that expresses the importance of following orders while being a part of the armed services in a time of war. The members of the armed forces are well know, and well respected for their discipline. Part of that discipline comes from the ability to follow the orders of your subordinates, even if they don t feel like it or don t agree with them. How disciplined can a soldier be if they don t follow orders. The soldier in question can t be very disciplined if they fail to follow instructions right? It goes against everything a soldier stands for. This makes them a danger to their team members, especially in a time of war. I do not think ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1980, recommendations were made by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics for reforming mathematics instruction in An Agenda for Action. These recommendations were based on results of the second National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and on data collected by the National Science Foundation (NSF) largely from a study called Priorities in School Mathematics (PRISM). Specifically in the area of fractions, NAEP contended that students inability to compute with fractions was the result of dependence on rote memorization of algorithms and a focus strictly on routine problems. Among eight recommendations, An Agenda for Action called for problem solving to be the focus of school mathematics in the 80 s and basic skills in mathematics to be more than computational fluency. • 13. The Biblical Interpretation Of Exodus And song Of... After Reformation period, the allegorical biblical interpretation was criticized and rejected by contemporary biblical interpretation theory, and a lot of Christian evangelical churches. However, as a long tradition stems from the early church, allegorical interpretation has never been disappeared; on the contrary, it was one the most important exegesis tradition in the history of Chinese Protestant Church. Many fundamentalist theologians and church leaders were influenced by this method, while Jia Yuming is one of the representative figures. The aim of this paper is to present the characteristic of Jia Yuming` s allegorical biblical interpretation, and to explore the contribution of his exegesis in Sino Christian theology. Jia` s allegorical biblical interpretation was influenced by several theological thoughts. Graduated from Presbyterian seminary, he accepted reformed theology, and then he was influenced by pietistic theology and Charismatic movement, turned to allegorical exegesis. In this paper, I will take Jia` s interpretation of Exodus and Song of Solomon as examples to analyze its characteristics. The book of Exodus consists of two genres, narratives and laws, which were interpreted by Jia` s allegorical method. The Song of Songs is considered to be the most obscure book to interpret in the Bible, and is often interpreted as an allegory. 1. The research question the group asks is, Do supplemental software and technologies help English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learner (ELL) students in both short and long term ways? Our target population for this study is college students that are ELLs. Finding participants is one part of the study, but since we are researching students on a college campus they will have to be at least 18 to 30 years old to participate in the study. UMKC has a very large and diverse campus; we will reach out to the Applied Language Institute (ALI) students through a class survey. We decided that college would be a better population to start out with because it provides many social opportunities. We are looking for a population that will provide us with direct feedback from the trial. Students in college will know how they learn and be able to explain how technology either helped them or hurt them while learning. Having students participate on campus also ensures that they have access to internet and WiFi. We are aware that there are many limitations that face college students, but there are also benefits to choosing students in college. Sample The participants in the study range from 18 to 30 years old. We did not specify what year we are looking for in college. We just wanted to have adults participate. Korostelina describes this as the processes of identification with other group members (p.23). Personal identities are consequently reflected in an individual s social identity. When King David considered the majesty and greatness of God, he felt insignificant by comparison, and asks, what is man that you are mindful of him? In Psalm 8 of The Bible, David stands in awe of the majesty of the Lord, and when he realizes how vast and magnificent God truly is, he is even more amazed that God would take the time to notice him a mere mortal man. Buried deep in the humanpsyche is the desire to explore the subjects that give human life meaning, and the question of what it means to be human has been a source of contemplation for as long as recorded history. The Renaissance essayists, Michel de Montaigne and Sir Francis Bacon, with their immense minds and insatiable curiosity, used the literary form of the essayin an attempt to capture the world in its entirety and its diversity: every thought, every experience, and every inquiry in their work questions the intrinsic value of humanity. Initially, there was no root cause for conflict on behalf of my colleague (Dora). It would be a stretch to say that she would fall under Maslow s hierarchy of needs. She had just graduated from a surgical assistant program and applied to the position for an increase in pay, and due to being in her current role as a nursing assistant for over 7 years. These were the primary reasons for applying for the position. Once the conflict was initiated, and continued to progress, she began to demonstrate signs of disassociation, and denial, which as a result, asking for my help in the matter. She had become so emotionally overwhelmed by the situation that she did want to focus on a resolution, given that she was going against a manager and her feelings towards her. The sense of authority and her being at the bottom of the totem pole effected how she felt she could handle the situation. To her, fighting this situation would be a loss cause. Due to these feelings of not being able to advocate for herself, she initially displayed an avoidance conflict style. Climate Central reports, this is because of climate change which has brought hotter summers and longer fire seasons. Throughout this paper, I will go over how forest fires are contributing to air pollution, ground ozone, the impacts on humans, and the response to the problem. This is a problem that individuals can t help but there are ways they can keep safe and stay healthy when forest fires arise in their areas. Naturally occurring forest fires are a necessity for certain species like the lodgepole pine tree. Fire helps reduce competition and help the species release its seeds. According to National Geographic, each year there is an average of more than 100,000 forest fires that clear 4 million to 5 million acres of land in the United States. Intense wildfires have been on the rise, increasing to 9 million acres of land due to climate change, drought, and other conditions. These fires can damage forests so badly that it takes years for them to naturally recover. Forest fires are caused when you have the fire triangle which is fuel, oxygen, and a heat source. The more fuel, trees, grasses, and brush, the more intense the fire can become. National Geographic states, the West is the most common place in the United States for forest fires. A full SWOT analysis often ends up producing long extensive lists of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which are not arranged in any particular way that could reflect priorities. It does not rank the factors by importance. This can be a problem because some effects of certain threats/weaknesses can be more serious and harmful to the businesses competitive advantage than others but the SWOT analysis does not make this clear. It doesn t highlight or single out any of the more important strengths and opportunities and this can sometimes lead to favorable opportunities being lost among other mediocre ones. In this control method, the error voltage is integrated twice and to generate the reference signal for current tracking, this signal referred to as the nonlinear carrier signal. In the current shaping, instead of the sensed switch current for comparison, the sensed current is integrated to obtain an average value before being compared with the nonlinear carrier signal. This approach reduces the input current distortion and the noise immunity. Its physical realization is more complicated than the OCC control ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
