The document discusses potential media institutions for distributing a new music magazine. It analyzes two leading UK distributors: Emap and Bauer Media Group. While Emap distributes many magazines, its focus seems to be on subjects other than music like fashion, retail, and politics. Bauer Media Group owns numerous brands, including music magazines like Q and Mojo that have large readerships and social media followings. Due to Bauer's success in distributing similar music magazines, the author believes Bauer Media Group would be the most suitable institution to distribute their new music magazine.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1.
2. Media Institutions
I want the potential media institution for my
magazine to specialize in the distribution of all
types of magazines. The two leading
distributors within the UK are…
3. Each of these companies are highly
regarded within the magazine
industry, successfully distributing
magazines across a variety of
genres. The research of these
companies is very important as I
need to know which is best to
distribute the magazine I have
created.
4. • - Emap is a business-to-business
multiplatform media group, whose
brands inform, inspire and connect
within the sectors they operate in.
For millions of people across the
globe involved in the built
environment, retail, media, fashion,
health, education, government and
automotive sectors, Emap provides
essential news, analysis and access.
It has 20 magazines, including: Architects
Journal, Architectural Review, Broadcast,
Construction News, Drapers, Health Service
Journal, Local Government Chronicle, Nursing
Times, Retail Week, Recycling & Waste
Management and Screen International.
EMAP previously distributed the music magazine MOJO, which is very successful. This music magazine has a
readership circulation of 100, 507; proving it to be a very well established, well distributed magazine. In
2006, at the beginning of the recession they had an operating income of approximately £223 million.
5. - The Bauer Media Group is Europe’s largest privately
owned publishing group. It is a worldwide, multi-platform
media empire consisting of many companies collected
around two main divisions – magazine and radio – widely
recognised and rewarded as being industry innovators.
- Bauer Media owns a huge number of influential media
brands spanning a wide range of interests, including heat,
GRAZIA, Closer, MCN, FHM, Parkers, MATCH, Magic 105.4,
Kiss 100, Kerrang! and Q.
- Their selection of over 300 magazines are available in 15
countries, as well as online, TV and radio.
- Worldwide circulation of Bauer Media Group's magazine
titles amounts to 38 million magazines a week.
- Bauer Media have a unique insight into the media
industry, allowing them to work closely with their
customers.
BAUER MEDIA can connect and engage 19 million
consumers every week with influential brands.
8. Even though EMAP is an extremely highly
credited distributor, I didn’t get a strong
sense or focus on music but rather
fashion, retail, health, politics and
education. I felt these subjects also were
not that interesting for my target
audience of 14+ an felt that another
distributor would suit better.
9. I have chosen Bauer Media as this company
successfully distributes music magazines such
as Q (which I took most of my inspiration
from) and MOJO. Both magazines have
colossal readership numbers and the following
on social media for Q is 111k! As my media
product is also in the music category, Bauer
Media with no doubt would be ideal as they
will know how to promote and distribute this
product correctly as seen in there other
successful music pieces.
