The document discusses what the author has learned about technology through creating a film project. It defines technology for filmmakers as computers, cameras, and devices with integrated chips. It then lists the specific technologies used for the project, including a Canon DSLR camera, tripod, laptop, and websites. It provides more detail on how the author learned to use the camera, tripod, and Windows Live Movie Maker software to shoot, hold the camera steady, and edit the film.
Underwater Photography - What I've learned So FarPaul Naish

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Evaluation question 6
1. 6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Sample: http://www.slideshare.net/HamzBaig/evaluation-question6-
19460421
Use powerpoint / prezi / audio-visuals (as creative as you can get)
Discuss:
Define what is technology for a film maker (at this stage)
List the elements you used (cameras
(DSLRs)/lights/tripods/mics/softwares/social media sites used during the
process/any converter used/ computers/macs/blogging/etc)
Define each subject according to your usage (ex: how did you use the
camera, that you didn’t know before)
2. 1.
• the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of
technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the
environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts,
engineering, applied science, and pure science.
2.
• the terminology of an art, science, etc.; technical nomenclature.
3.
• a scientific or industrial process, invention, method, or the like.
4.
• the sum of the ways in which social groups provide themselves with
the material objects of their civilization.
All these meanings could be used to define what technology means,
but in terms of media studies technology would mean computers,
cameras or devices that consist of some technology in it or in other
words have a chip that functions them. Technology usually refers to
something that is high definition, and is up to date.
3. Devices which I used to shoot, produce and edit
my film were; camera- canon dslr, a tripod to
hold the camera in place, a laptop to edit the
movie on, sites like google, jamendo,
wikipedia were used for any extra additions to
the film.
4. Camera
• The camera I used was a Canon D500 DSLR
I learnt how to make a video through a
professional camera. I took shots of approx 20
seconds or less and joined them together in
editing. Also while using this professional
camera I learned how to use the focus on the
lens.
5. Tripod
• The tripod was used to keep the D500 Dslr in
place. It gave me the comfort of turning the
camera in different direction without the
video being wobbly. The tripod could be
adjusted to height and sizes. And allowed me
to keep the camera firm. Using the tripod
gave me better quality and saved much time.
All I had to do for most scenes was press
record.
6. Using Windows Live Movie Maker
• While using WLMM, since I had some experience
from before I did not face much trouble in
editing, trimming, and adding transitions to my
film.
• I added music from a site called
www.jamendo.com, which offered royal free
music, and also had wide range of mixes. It had
taken me a while to find the perfect sounds but I
discovered many new tunes along the way.
