1. For my audience research I created a
questionnaire and got it completed by a
range of my target audience. This helped
me to design my magazine so that it
appeals and attracts my audience.
2. My magazine title is ‘Acoustic’
because in my questionnaire I
asked “what are the first 3 words
that come to mind when thinking
of the indie genre” and one of the
main words that came up was
indie.
I used these bands/artists as in
my questionnaire I asked who
their favourite artist/band was
and these were the most popular
results. This then attracts my
audience as I know this is their
preference and will attract their
fans to buy the magazine.
I used other bands from my
audience research for the
banner across the bottom to
attract their fans into buying
the magazine.
3. I have taken the artists from the “What's your favourite
band/artist?” question on my questionnaire and used
them for my featured articles. This will attract my target
audience as this is who I have taken the information
from.
The language I used in my double page spread
was casual and laid back, this is because the
target audience of my magazine is young people,
and this is the type of language they would use.
4. Another question in my questionnaire
for my target audience was “What is
your favourite colour?” This then gave
me an idea on what colours I could use
on the front of my magazine to attract
my audience, as I know these were the
colours they had chosen I went for the 2
most popular, Red and Blue.
I used red and blue for my colour
scheme as from my research I know
these would attract and appeal to my
audience the most and I then used this
throughout the whole of my magazine.
