1. 5. How did you attract/address your target audience?
2. I used a variety of ways to fully engage my target audiences attention. For example: Direct mode of address Iused direct mode of address when taking the pictures for my front cover this is due to the response from my questionnaire as well as following the forms and conventions. This is so i attract my audiences attention. Red Background I also took into consideration what the audience wanted to see on a magazine after getting feedback from a questionnaire i sent out, as a result of this iused the colour red for my background as it appeared the most popular colour to use.
3. After analysing audience research i took into consideration what they would like to appear on the front cover of my magazine in order to fully attract their attention. It appeared that from my survey women tend to read more music magazines then men, therefore i have targeted my magazine more towards the female gender. However i have also used masculine colours to connote that the magazine is for both genders.
4. I have also used a medium close up of the artist looking happy and friendly this connotes to my target audience that the magazine is friendly and bubbly therefore this fully engages and attracts my target audience. Indie bands I have used bands/artists that were featured more than once on my questionnaire survey to promote my magazine, as i feel that this would attract my target audience more as they are bands/artists in which they like to read/listen about.
5. My masthead attracts my target audience as it is a play on words. The masthead is clever as it straight away tells the audience what style music is inside “Indie”. It is also very catchy as it is a unique style compared to a lot of other magazines. For example: Q and NME. This masthead doesn’t really attract the audience well as it is very basic and doesn’t suggest what the magazine is about, or what style music the magazine contains.
6. Overall, i feel that i attracted my target audience in the best way possible by the use of imagery and content.
