My magazine is aimed at young females aged 15-19 who enjoy rock music. I chose female models around the same age to relate more closely to the target audience. The models wore muted, less feminine clothing and photos had a flat rather than glossy look to fit a rock magazine style while avoiding conventions of typical teen girl magazines. Features like competitions and subscriptions along with a yellow and blue color scheme were included to appeal to and represent the target age group.

2. My magazine is aimed at young females (aged 15-19) who are predominantly interested in rock music.
When deciding on the models I wanted to you for my photo-shoot, I decided to choose girls of a similar age in order to
help them relate more closely to the magazine.
The models avoided wearing overly feminine clothing, and through my editing I tried to create a more 2-dimensional photo
as opposed to a more rounded and glossy looking image. I did this in order to make the magazine much more muted, and
fit the forms of a rock magazine whilst avoiding the typical conventions of a teenage girl talk magazine.
3. Certain features in my music magazine also helped to relate it to and
represent certain social and age groups. For example, I made sure to
incorporate both competitions and subscription services in my work as I
felt it would both appeal and be most fitting to the age group.
The colour scheme also helped tie my work in with my target audience. I
chose to have the theme of yellow and blue run through my magazine as
they are both quite gender neutral colours. Despite my magazine being
aimed at girls, I felt as though a colour scheme of pink and/or purple
would have taken my magazine further away from the harsher, rock
audience that I was trying to represent.
