The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1. Q4: How did you use media
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. Over the last year we learnt how to use better
technology while constructing our A2 coursework. We
have been using Final Cut Pro to edit our music video
on the Apple Macs, as that is the best editing
software yet. To film our video we used the Nikon
D3200 DSLR as that camera bought out the sharpness
of the image.
We learnt that by using stop motion photography was
easier to edit as its pictures, which we only had to
take out pictures we didn’t need, which made the
video look good. We used handheld shots and
movements so the video would be effective more.
3. The difficulties that we encountered were matching the
stop motion photography with the slow paced song, as
we needed to get the frames per second exactly right.
Also another difficulty was when creating the video the
computer we were using had a fault, which nearly caused
us to re-edit the whole video, but luckily I transferred the
video.
4. We used these hardware and
software’s to edit our music
video:
Final Cut Pro
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Tripod
Nikon D3200 Camera
Blogger
5. I think that so much work went into
creating our product, as we had to do a lot
of planning and research, which helped us
to create our digipak, Advertisement and
our final music video.
By researching different ideas that links to
our genre that we chose really made it easy
to create our music video.
6. The beginning shots in the video that were the
focus pull and close up shots worked really well
in the music video as it went well with the
song. Also it gave the audience an idea of how
the character sees everything when he’s high.
The choice of doing a stop motion enhanced
the chosen song that we used as it was a slow
song. We added a small filter on the video to
give it an effect so that the video is not plain.
7. The thing we think that we should improve is
the song choice and to cut the song down
accurately as there were a few mistakes at the
beginning.
The limitation of creating this video was the
length as it was a 4minute song it would of
taken ages for us to take 3000 photos as we
chose to do stop motion.
