We both want to create films of the same genre, to send a powerful message whilst still having a
large enough budget to indulge in increasing the quality of the film to widen audiences. Lionsgate
tries to balance their priorities between profit and artistry, without cheapening the message they
want to get across.

This shows that my film is almost guaranteed to be a success with this companies backing because
they know the genre I am working in very well and they know how to market it successfully.

5. What is its business model like?
"Lionsgate Entertainment clearly demonstrates conglomeratization through its ownership of both Film
and Television production, as well as sales and distribution markets. Lionsgate Entertainment has
interests in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, as well as Asia, demonstrating
Globalization. Lionsgate Entertainment demonstrates Vertical integration through ownership of
distribution companies (i.e. Redbus Film Distribution Ltd and Trimark Holdings) in addition to production
companies (i.e. LionsGate Film, Mandate Pictures, and Artisan Entertainment). Lionsgate demonstrates
Horizontal integration through its mergers with other companies such as Summit Entertainment,
Mandate Pictures, Artisan Entertainment and etc. One way Lionsgate demonstrates Media Synergy is
through sales of both films and soundtracks. Hunger Games, for example, was number one in sales of

6. How would I advertise and distribute
with Lionsgate?
I would advertise my film by producing trailers, posters, and through social media as it is a cheap but very effective
method. I will use a platform release to distribute my film and allow social media to spread the word of my film, as
this involves less risk to profit. Furthermore, having an interactive website, Facebook page, and twitter account will
allow me to get close to my audience and will give me the opportunity to ask questions, and release special offers
and competitions to help spread the word of my film and raise its profile, and all relatively low of cost. Additionally,
I will place it among other films targeted at young adults such as The Hunger Games and Divergent. The audience
will be able to know what genre my film is when they are placed next to these films. I can also advertise at film
festivals and through film reviewing websites, as these places usually harbour opportunities to target niche
audiences that can advertise my product for free, for example a film reviewer with a blog may see my film and
promote it on their site.
