How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary
texts?
Music Video
▪ Our aims when creating our music video were to:
▪ Create a video typical of the pop genre
▪ Create a video with elements of the boyband genre
▪ Create a visual which matches the fast pace of the music
Digipak
▪ Our aims when creating our digipak were to:
▪ Make reference to our music video
▪ Create a link between the pop, boyband and indie genres
▪ Create a front panel which is instantly recognisable.
Website
▪ Our aims when creating our website were to:
▪ Make reference to our music video
▪ Link to social media which shows the audience the band is contemporary
▪ Create key pages which are used on most musicians’ websites such as:
– Gallery
– Store
– Gig Information
Marketing
▪ When researching marketing we found out that it is important for the
three products to be consistent therefore making it easier for the
audience to connect the three.
▪ This is seen in ‘California Gurls’ and ‘Teenage Dream’
Consistency Across Our Products
▪ Our products consistently use the same:
– Coloured backgrounds
– Costumes
– Props
– (similar) Font Same yellow background
Same white t-shirt
Same bold, rounded font
Brand Identity
▪ By being consistent across all three products it creates a brand
identity for our band. By choosing to use one font over all three
products we easily created a signature text.
▪ We first opted to use the font ‘Indie flower’ as it could be considered
scribble like. However we wanted to instead use a much bolder and
more legible font – we chose to use ‘Cocogoose’.
