- 1. Evaluation Question 1 First of all, the group had definitely used, developed and challenged many differentformsand conventionsfrom realmediaproducts within the same action/adventuregenre. Weall went for going with the action/adventuregenrebecause the action genre is what each of usare familiar with and will have most knowledgefrom sincewe have doneour research on. Wetried to includemany differentconventionsfrom differentfilms. For examplethe costumes weused in our openingwas inspired from moviessuch as ‘Hitman’, where the characters are similar to ours, from what they wear. For musicwe tried to use something that’s tension buildingfor the first scene to keep the audienceon their toes, since there was a lot of enigma codesduringthat first scene. Duringthe montage we used something with a good beat because every time there is a beat its when a title will appear this can also syncin with the editing making the montage moreinteresting to watch. As for when there is dialogue at the end the music fades. The idea of the montage wasintroduced because we wanted something to contrast the two differentlife styles of the characters in the first scene and the character in the montage. Since we were aimingfor the British audience, wetook inspiration from moviessuch as the James Bond serieswhether the locations are based in London, whichis whereour shots take place. Wethought this would work wellas a convention of an action film to be set in a modern city. A typical action genre convention isusing weapons/firearms. We used a pistol as a prop of our since in most action genre movies, a firearm is used, the reason wewent for a pistol instead of a machine gun is because onceagain the inspiration from the James Bond series, he usessmall firearmsbecause it is the most popular firearm.
